Chapter 22 Tavern Story(1/2)

Facing the whispers of others in the bar, the middle-aged man's face turned red.

Just as I was about to stand up and turn my head and leave, I was stopped by the bartender.

"If you don't mind, tell me why you became like this." As soon as the bartender spoke, the others calmed down. "Others may be willing to listen to your story."

"..." The other party was silent for a while, "I shouldn't have done that."

"Okay, this guy..."

"My name is Rothy."

"Mr. Rothy," the bartender handed over a glass of wine again, "Why did you do that in the first place? I'll treat this."

"Three years ago, when my son was about to retire, he caught up with the recruitment of the Knights of Captain Andrew."

Rothy said slowly.

"Captain Andrew followed the brave men to fight against the Demon King, and his troops were much more paid than ordinary troops."

...

With Rothy's telling, the story gradually unfolds to other guests in the bar.

Rotsi's son wanted to open a bakery, so when he retired, he chose to join the army to fight against the Demon King, wanting to get a high salary.

Another point is that his son longs for the brave Selena and thinks she is the most beautiful woman in the Casger Empire, so he loves her.

Rothy has always been very opposed because everyone has heard of the horror of the Demon King. To fight against the Demon King, the casualty rate will be much higher than that of ordinary troops.

But in order to be closer to Selena, I still signed up without hesitation.

Then he followed Selena to fight. Before leaving, he said that he might be appreciated by Selena.

However, when the troops returned, his son did not come back, and he did not even bring back the body.

Although he received the Anjiabao, his son died inexplicably, and Rotsey was dissatisfied, so he went to Andrew to ask about the situation.

But where is Andrew a civilian who meets him any time he wants?

Undoubtedly, no one even informed him.

After finding many places in a row, Rotsey made a big fuss at the door of the Knights headquarters, and was beaten and threw it on the street by the guards.

After I got home, I became more angry as I thought about it, but there was nothing I could do. The situation was better than others, and I could only hold it in my mind if I didn’t accept it.

After about a week, I accidentally saw Selena, the brave man on the street.

She smiled at everyone on her face, as if she didn't care about her subordinates' death at all.

Rothy was so angry that he immediately bought a lot of eggs and tomatoes and then smashed them on Selena's head.

Then he stood in front of her and accused her son of death, and accused her of laughing!

...

"I didn't think too much at that time..." Rothy took a sip of wine and his voice was deep, "I just wanted to ask her why she didn't bring the body back when her subordinates died? Why can she even laugh!"

Then the guards patrolling the street came over and wanted to arrest him, but Selena stopped him.

Then he bowed in front of him to apologize.

"I'm sorry, let your son die on the battlefield!" Selena lowered her head, "This is my dereliction of duty, it's because I didn't take good care of him! Sorry!"

...

"I didn't say anything, but I had forgiven her in my heart." Rotsey said, "I originally thought this matter was over, but who knew that this was just the beginning!"

The guests in the bar focused their attention and knew that the next one was the unknown highlight.

"The next day, I went out to buy ingredients," Rotsey's expression became painful, "people across the street looked at me and pointed at me."

Rottersey fell into memories...

...

"Get out! I won't sell my stuff to you!" The owner scolded viciously, "Get out!"

"Why?" Rothy was puzzled, "I'm not not giving money!"

"I don't want to sell things to bastards like you!" the owner scolded, "You actually beat Selena! Do you know how good a child she is?"

"That's because..." Rothy wanted to explain.

"Do you think your son died alone?" The fruit stall owner next to him also scolded, "The three men in my family all followed Selena to the battlefield and were burned into coke by the devil's flame magic! After Selena came back, she apologized to me. I had a cold face to her and didn't mind at all. She often came to help me with work... If that child was not happy, she would feel guilty!"

"My husband also died on the battlefield to fight against the devil, and only brought back a complete head." The young woman selling bread opposite said, "After Selena came back, she cried and said sorry, and since then, she would help me whenever she had time, so that she would not let me, a widow, be bullied. She was also very sad when she died, but she could not show it to outsiders because she was a brave man and she protected us!"

"She is as old as my granddaughter, but my granddaughter just needs to help her husband with housework at home, while Selena has to face the terrifying demon king on the battlefield."

The old lady who came to buy things next to her said.

"She carries more things than us and has greater pressure than us. She said that just protecting us is something that she finds meaningful... And you, as a member of her protection, actually hit her!"

"I..." Rothy didn't know how to explain.

More and more people joined in criticizing him. Seeing the people who kept coming to scold him, Rotsey felt that he might have caused trouble.

In the end, I bought nothing and went home in shame.

When I went to work the next day, the boss stopped him at the door.

"You actually hit Selena? How could I hire someone like you?" The boss's spit almost squirted on his face, "Do you know how much help Selena has helped me? How many troubles have she solved? You dare to do this as everyone in my staff respects? You can leave!"

As he said that, the boss threw a few silver coins and a pile of copper coins on his chest.

The coins were spilled all over the floor, but Rotsey stared blankly at the boss's departure back, opened his mouth to say something, but couldn't say it.

The real trouble began now, no one was willing to sell him things, and no one was willing to hire him.

My former friends ignored him, as if they were afraid of having something to do with him.

Helplessly, he had to go to the Beicheng District where outsiders gathered to find a job and buy things.

However, as the news came here, people here also expressed that they did not welcome him, and he had no choice but to go to Xicheng District.

Xicheng District is the closest to the slums. It doesn’t care about identity and background, and it does the most tiring work with the lowest salary.

Later, his home was stolen and he went to the Public Security Administration to report the case.

The person in charge of the management office asked him his name and address, and immediately his expression became extremely impatient and asked him to go back and wait.

...

"Until now I feel like I'm dreaming," Rotsey's wine glass was empty, his tone was full of vicissitudes. "To be honest, I regret it now. If I had just explained my purpose to her at that time and just wanted to know the cause of death, it might not have caused such consequences..."

Other guests around him opened their eyes wide and expressed shock.

I thought to myself that I had eaten such a big melon.

I really didn't expect that the follow-up of this matter would be like this...

They don't know what kind of words to use to describe them.

"The story is very good!" The bartender handed over another glass of wine, "I'll give you another glass!"

"Thanks!"

Rotsey nodded, then picked up the wine glass and drank it all.

"I may come often in the future." Rothy stood up.

"Welcome at any time!" The bartender had a constant smile on his face, "In fact, there is no need to regret it. People have to be responsible for every decision they make! I wish you a happy tonight!"

"Thank you!" Jurotesi walked out of the tavern.

"Okay, who has a story?" The bartender turned around and smiled at the other guests, "I'll treat you to drink!"

"I said, you are already very cheap here. Everyone who tells stories asks for a drink. Do you have any money?" asked a guest.

"Don't care about that," the bartender still had a gratifying smile. "A lot of valuable things are in the story..."

…………

Rotsey walked out of the tavern, looked up at the twinkling stars in the sky, exhaled a sip of alcohol, then raised his legs and walked home.

I have to say that the bartender's last words just gave him a little hope.

Maybe, for yourself, it is best to start over again by changing places.

Rothy thought to himself.

When I was about to walk out of the slums, I saw a person standing next to the abandoned brick house symbolizing the dividing line.

When he gradually approached and saw the other person's hot and tall figure that could not be concealed by his clothes, and his hair mixed with golden and white, Rotsey felt incredible.

"Brave... brave?" Rothy looked surprised.

"Long time no see." Selena spoke with a calm expression.

"You... still remember me." Rothy's expression was a little complicated.

"Of course, after all, what you did was enough to impress me." Selena smiled.

Seeing Selena still joking with herself, Rotsey gradually relaxed, "What happened three years ago..."
