Two hundred and thirteen chapters nephew Achai King

"seal?"

The importance of seals no longer needs to be elaborated on in ancient tombs.

As long as a seal can be found, especially a seal with inscriptions, the mystery of the identity of the tomb owner can basically be solved immediately.

As long as the archaeological staff were in the main tomb, they quickly put down their work and ran to the No. 1 Robbery Cave.

This seal was found in the disturbed soil under Robbery Cave No. 1.

Apparently the tomb robbers dropped the grave goods on the ground while transferring them through the hole.

This is normal.

Some small objects are often left in the robber's cave or in the disturbed soil next to the robber's cave when they rob the tomb.

On the one hand, this is because tomb robbers will still be nervous when robbing tombs. If they are nervous, they will rush around and drop something.

On the other hand, it is really not an easy job to climb the Thief Cave.

At least in modern times, it is basically impossible for people without professional training to climb into the robber cave with funerary objects.

In the process of climbing, some small funerary objects will drop.

Therefore, if the tombs that are stolen are relatively clean, the disturbed soil near the robber's cave is usually the only place where one can gain something.

"It has a square shape and a nose button. The button is pierced in a round shape, and there are traces of the seal ribbon remaining inside the piercing. This is a very common seal."

"But the print is a bit small. It's less than two centimeters on a side, but it's quite tall. It must be three or four centimeters high."

This seal found in Nuosu basically maintains the style of the square-inch seal of the Han Dynasty, with a side length of less than two centimeters.

In fact, the seals of most dynasties are about two or three centimeters in length, including the emperor's seal.

The big, square seal that needs to be held with both hands at every turn in the TV series rarely appears in reality.

"How about it? What words are engraved on the seal?"

"Who is the owner of the tomb?"

There was a flurry of discussion, and a small seal was quickly transferred to many people's hands.

When it was passed to Chen Han, he finally saw the engraved surface of the seal.

It's a pity that he was disappointed.

The seal on this side is incised and consists of an image of a Bactrian camel and Tibetan characters.

He can understand the camel image.

But when it comes to Tibetan, it’s hard to make a meal without rice.

However, there are quite a lot of words, and it probably consists of seven or eight subtitles.

"Is there anyone who understands Tibetan?"

Kong Jianwen roared, and everyone present shook their heads.

Including members of the QH Provincial Institute of Archeology.

Although this area of Qinghai was once the main burial area of the Tubo Kingdom, more than 2,000 Tubo tombs have been discovered so far.

However, not many of these Tubo tombs have been excavated, and most of them have been protected.

And even though a lot has been excavated, there is still a Qijia culture in Qinghai.

Therefore, no one has time to study Tibetan. Most of them send them to the Tibetan Research Institute and ask them to help with translation.

On the other hand, in Gansu next door, because of the Dunhuang Grottoes and a bunch of classics written in Tibetan, there are many scholars who understand Tibetan.

"Forget it, let's send it to the Tibetan Research Institute and ask."

Li Chunchao, the deputy director of the Qinghai Archaeological Institute, stepped in. He took out his mobile phone and turned off the flash, took a photo of the seal and sent it to a Tibetan scholar he knew.

When doing archeology in Qinghai, it’s okay if you don’t understand Tibetan, but you definitely need to know a few scholars who understand Tibetan.

Especially the deputy director like Professor Ke has many connections.

As soon as he sent the message, someone gave him an answer within a few minutes.

"This is the ancient Tibetan language used by Tubo, which can be roughly translated as "the seal of the nephew King Achai"."

After telling other archaeologists this news, everyone fell into deep thought.

King Achai?

Archaeologists from the Institute of Archeology of the Academy of Social Sciences looked at Professor Ke with confusion.

Isn’t this the royal tomb of the Tuyuhun tribe?

So what does King Achai mean?

Is he some prince from the Tubo Kingdom?

"A fragment of the "Achai Annals" was once unearthed from the Dunhuang Grottoes. This "Achai Annals" records the history of the Tuyuhun tribe."

"If modern scholars study the Tuyuhun tribe and want to find their history from historical materials and documents, then the "Achai Annals" must not be bypassed."

"Achai is the name the Tubo people call Tuyuhun."

With this explanation, it will be clear.

The origin of this tomb can be determined. It is a tomb of the royal family of Tuyuhun.

"Previously, based on the tree rings of the tomb shed wood, the age of this tomb could be determined to be 744±35 years."

"This time was during the reign of Tubo Zampu Trisong Detsen."

"Since it can be seen from the interpretation of the seal that the owner of the tomb may be King Achai, then based on the relevant records in the "Achai Annals"."

"Preliminary speculation is that the owner of the tomb may be Mohe Tuhun Khan, the Tuyuhun king under the Tubo rule."

After Professor Ke thought for a moment, he gave a judgment on the identity of the tomb owner.

Kong Jianwen frowned and said with some confusion: "The growth ring dating of the shed wood shows a difference of plus and minus 35 years. This time difference is enough for two generations of Tuyuhun kings to overlap."

"How can you be sure of the identity of the tomb owner?"

35 years is not a small number.

According to the average reign time of ancient emperors, and considering that the Tuyuhun tribe is a semi-nomadic and semi-agricultural society, the aristocratic life is not as pampered as the Central Plains emperors.

The reign of one of their kings is probably even shorter.

There have been only two successions in 35 years, which is a rare occurrence.

In this case, there must be at least two or three candidates for the owner of this tomb.

How come Professor Ke is so sure of the identity of the tomb owner?

"Lao Kong, you don't understand the lineage of Tubo and Tuyuhun."

Professor Ke shook his head and patiently explained: "Look at the words on the seal."

"Nephew King Achai, the "nephew" here is very important."

"During the reign of Trisong Detsen, Zampu of Tubo, the king of Tuyuhun, Mohe Tuhun, and his mother was Princess Chibang of Tubo."

"Mohe Tuhun himself is Trisong Detsen's nephew."

"So this nephew, King Achai, can only be Mohe Tuhun!"

In the process of conquering the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Tubo successively annexed dozens of small states such as Yangtong (Zhangzhong), Subi, Tuyuhun and other small states.

Of course, the "annexation" here is different from the unification of the Han people in the Central Plains, and is similar to the enfeoffment of the Zhou Dynasty.

Tubo only conquered these small states, and then named each of these small states kings, but they all had to pay tribute to the central government of Tubo and send people to fight for Tubo.

This is why at the end of the Tang Dynasty, when Jiedushi was separatist, Tubo was also in chaos.

Because the situation in Tubo was similar to that in the late Tang Dynasty. They were a bunch of separatist forces in the country who had tribes and warriors in their hands.

When the central government was strong, such as when strong men like Songtsen Gampo and Trisong Detsen were in power, all the tribes conquered by Tibet behaved like kittens.

But once the Tibetan central government fails to do well, the small states will immediately refuse to listen to the instructions and propaganda, and close their doors to separate their own regimes.

This Tuyuhun tribe was the Tuyuhun tribe after the Tuyuhun Kingdom was destroyed. Generations of people were canonized by the Tubo Kingdom and even married into the Tubo royal family.

It’s no wonder that Tuyuhun was fully transformed into Tubo.
