Chapter 1 The Führer wakes up

With a "clang", it was the crisp sound of the cup hitting the ground. Hoffman woke up and found that he was lying on the bed, and there was no trace of his grandfather? He just stretched out his hand and just touched the cup on the bedside table.

What is this? He looked around vigilantly. Did he be sent to the hospital? But the arrangement around was not like a ward. He struggled for a while, and there seemed to be no obvious discomfort on his body. Before he could figure out what was going on, a man in a white coat came in quickly and made a surprise voice: "First of the People? Have you finally woken up?"

"Who are you? Why am I here?" Hoffman looked at the other person. Although the other person was wearing a white coat, the decorations here were not common in the hospital, but rather they looked a bit like a house in the Eagle's Nest.

"First of the People? I am Morel, I am your most loyal doctor..." The man in a white coat obviously did not expect Hoffman's question and explained to himself repeatedly.

"What are you calling me..."

"First of the People!"

Oh my God... Head of State! Hoffman subconsciously touched his nose. His hand felt very different from before. When he looked at his hand, he felt something strange. What's even worse was that he even felt the thick beard under his nose with the back of his hand - he never had a beard.

He struggled to sit up and said, "Help me look in the mirror." As soon as he said that, Hoffman was even more surprised. This was definitely not the tone of his daily speech.

Dr. Morel was surprised at Hoffman's request, but his character of obeying orders for many years had made him develop a conditioned reflex. He gently helped the "Fengshen" to the dressing mirror in the wardrobe. Hoffman's eyes were slightly closed and he did not dare to look in the mirror, but the other party's words rang in his ears: "Fengshen, the accident yesterday morning really scared us."

Another head of state! Hoffmann put his heart on his mind and looked at himself in the mirror with his eyes wide open: his iconic face, the thick mustache under his nose, was unique throughout the century and the entire earth - the head of the Third Reich.

What was going on? Hoffman shook his head in disbelief and tried his best to control his emotions so as not to let such a shocking change appear on his face. "Morell, my dear doctor..." He paused, considered for a moment, and asked slowly, "What day is it today? How long have I been in a coma?"

"Today is August 23, 1942. As for coma, it is not actually considered a matter of being unconscious. The day before yesterday, you fell while walking because of some excitement. There were no obvious trauma, but there were dizziness. Because the "werewolf" was too wet, you took the special train back to the "Eagle Nest" for rest for health reasons. Last night you complained about a headache, and I used a little barbital, so you slept for a few more hours. Now it is almost 11 o'clock in the afternoon." Morel explained, and asked in a cautious tone: "Dear Head, can you please lie down for a few more minutes and let me do a comprehensive examination for you... Your face is a little pale, and... it seems that your mental state is not very good."

Hoffman thought to himself: It is natural to be pale. Anyone who suddenly becomes the head of state will be intimidated and treacherous. However, he is not so stupid as to tell the fact that he is not the head of state. As long as he dares to say that, someone will do his best to treat himself as a lunatic.

He lay down again obediently and sighed: "I'm fine, maybe just because I'm worried too much about this country."

Morel smiled embarrassedly. Of course he knew the truth: three days ago, at the battle discussion meeting held at the Vinnica Base Camp in Ukraine, General Franz-Halder, Chief of the Army General Franz-Halder, once again had a fierce quarrel with the head of state on the Eastern Front. The angry general even slapped the table. The meeting ended up with disagreement. When taking a walk after breakfast the next day, the head of state could not suppress his anger and complained to the party affairs supervisor and the director of the Prime Minister's Office, Martin Bormann, about Halder's rebelliousness and repeated opposition to him. Then he fell down because he was so excited that he didn't pay attention to his feet and hit a stone...

"First of the Year, your blood pressure, heartbeat, and pulse are normal." Morel put down his stethoscope and said solemnly, "For the sake of the empire, you should take care of your health."

"Thank you for your advice," Hoffman waved, "Let them wake me up in another half an hour, now I have to calm down and think about something alone."

The doctor closed the door and left, but Hoffman did not pay attention to these things. His mind was running at high speed, and he had to think about countermeasures for his situation. Of course, Hoffman knew what he had encountered. As an authoritative research, he could come into contact with hundreds of time travel works every year, whether it was serious strategic inferences, vivid literary novels, or carefully planned academic papers. He called it a fantasy and put it into a smile. Unexpectedly, the most absurd and bizarre myth that he did not believe in became a reality.

He remembered Einstein's famous saying - it was because I despised authority so much that fate punished me and made me become authority. It was because I despised time travel so that fate punished me and made me travel too, and even traveled to such a person.

While thinking, he was surprised to find that his consciousness and the head of the head were fusing at a rapid speed, without any resistance or delay. All the things in the head of the head of the head were completely absorbed and integrated, becoming part of Hoffman's autonomous consciousness - the world is still the same world, but the head of the head is no longer the head of the head.

On August 23, 1942, it was the moment when the Soviet-German War entered the highest level. According to the normal historical trajectory, by May 1945, if there were more than two and a half years, the Soviet army would have to put the red flag on the roof of the Empire State Building, and he would commit suicide in the dark and humid basement. When he thought of this terrible ending, he couldn't help but tremble. At this moment, he remembered the words of Old Hoffman: "...but you are the most unfortunate, because what you are about to face is such a difficult and difficult empire..." So that's what it was!

No! Never! I must change this destiny!

"First of the People." A rhythmic knock on the door sounded, "Can we come in?"

"Please come in." The Germans' nature is famously punctual. Hoffman, who was dressed in neatly, looked up at the wall clock and walked half an hour.

Three people came from outside, the first one was Martin Bauman, which was also a "familiar face". Hoffman quickly recognized it, and the second one was Morel. Hoffman at the end was not very familiar with him. He searched in his memory and already knew that the other party was called Rudolf Schmundt, a major general of the army, and the chief adjutant of the head of state, and the head of state's most trusted staff member.

"Dear Head, I feel extremely happy to see you recover from health." Bauman stepped forward and greeted in a slightly exaggerated tone.

Hoffman nodded. He knew Morel would definitely report his performance to Bauman. These were people who were extremely familiar with the head of state, but he must not show his strength. He replied calmly: "Thank you for your concern. The things that happened two days ago made me a little depressed, but after the rest, I felt energetic and could continue to lead the empire forward."

Bauman was obviously relieved. When Morel asked him to report the mental state of the head of state of not ideal, he was shocked. You should know that the reason why Martin Bauman has the current power and status is entirely due to the support of the head of state. Without this backing, he is nothing. Now it seems that Morel is making a big deal, isn't the head of state good? He glared at the latter with dissatisfaction and said, "First of the Year, General Schmont originally wanted to report personnel arrangements with you first, but now lunch is ready, don't you know?"
