Chapter 15 The Paper Man Attacks

My grandfather died and the coffin could not be buried immediately. When I spent the night in the mourning hall, my mother took me to keep a guard.

From then on, I swear not to keep a watch for anyone, including my parents.

When it was dark, we rushed back to my uncle's house in the snow. The lights were on, and it was noisy.

Shoucai was prepared by my uncle for a long time. I looked at the word "Shou" on the coffin baffle again. Xiaoma's face was not good when she saw it.

The paper and wreath next to the coffin must have been bought by these relatives from my family from Brother Chan.

The wreath is made of beautiful but a bit tacky, and the paper is made of very rough. However, I saw a pair of paper people, which were made of lifelike. Obviously, these buildings and cars with gold and silver mountains and paper are not made of one person.

This pair of paper men was so delicate that I was a little scared when I saw it, and I thought that someone's child was naughty and pretended to be.

I hate these paper-making and this mourning hall, although my grandmother lies in the coffin.

After dinner, my uncle arranged for the guests to stay.

There were so many relatives coming from the house all at once, so my uncle had to arrange for these relatives and friends to spend a stay at the neighbor's house.

Brother Zhenmin invited me to live in his old house. Although it has been abandoned for a long time, it has been cleaned up. He specially brought the bedding.

Xiaoma also followed me, while Taoist Tanyou stayed to continue chanting scriptures for his grandmother and saved him. My uncle promised to give him 200 yuan in hard work.

The old house of Zhenmin Ge’s family was outside the town. When the alliance was called Xichui Township, it was not prosperous. His family also lived on the hillside, more than a mile away from his grandfather’s old house.

We lit a pile of firewood in the main hall. Brother Zhenmin took out a jar of sorghum wine and three white porcelain bowls. Everyone took turns to drink to keep warm.

Xiaoma was not drunk enough and soon became drunk. Brother Zhenmin and I helped him to the bed and covered him with a quilt.

Back at the fire, Brother Zhenmin whispered: "Who are the Taoist priest and this little horse you brought with you? Are you familiar with them?"

I shook my head and left the main hall with Brother Zhenmin on the excuse of going together.

In the simple toilet, I whispered to Zhenmin: "This little horse has the word "longevity" on the outside of his father's arm."

After hearing this, Brother Zhenmin shivered and asked, "What about this Taoist priest?"

"It's the master invited by Xiaoma. We must speak out some old past events openly!"

Brother Zhenmin naturally knows what the "old past events" refer to?

He took me into a wing room, which was very dilapidated and dusty. He introduced: "This is my father's room. Since he came back with your grandfather, he has lived here alone and has become taciturn."

"Didn't you ask why?" I asked.

Brother Zhenmin handed the flashlight to me, then used a broom to sweep away the dust on the wall, and replied to me: "My father said they were bullied outside and was depressed, but he also gave my mother some money. He planned to continue to go out to make money, but unfortunately something happened before he went out."

I shine the flashlight on the adobe wall, which carved a strange pattern, which looked like a simple map, because it also reads the place names: Donggou, Yehugou, and Guhunling.

At this time, the flashlight suddenly went out, I quickly shook, and a chill arose. Brother Zhenmin hurriedly took out the lighter and ignited the broom, and used it as a torch to illuminate it. I calmed down. There was no furniture in the room, not even a mouse, only a peeling adobe wall.

Taking advantage of the light of the broom, Brother Zhenmin wrote down the map on the wall and then painted the patterns on the wall with a burning broom.

In the light and darkness of the falling Mars, I felt someone staring at us.

I quickly twisted the flashlight, and finally it lit up again, so I shone around the room. There were only Brother Zhenmin and I in the room, and then asked: "Brother Zhenmin, what is the carved on the wall? Why did you cross it out?"

Brother Zhenmin threw down the extinguished broom and explained: "It was my father's will. He didn't know much about literacy, so he used pictures to express it."

At this time, the wooden door of the old house made a "squeak" sound, and I was so scary that I couldn't even hold the flashlight. The sound was so scary. Brother Zhenmin caught the flashlight, snatched it out of the room, and shone it towards the gate of the courtyard.

I followed me out too quickly and saw a black shadow blocking my eyes with my hands under the light of the flashlight.

"Don't shine on my face, the light is too strong!" It was the voice of the old Taoist priest.

Brother Zhenmin turned the flashlight and asked, "Why are you here?"

We entered the main hall and sat down around the fire. When the old Taoist priest saw the jar of sorghum wine, he immediately filled his mouth with his heart.

"Why are you monks still drinking?" Brother Zhenmin questioned.

The old Taoist priest disagreed and asked, "Have you read the martial arts novel written by Jin Yong? The Taoist priests of the Quanzhen Sect all drink wine and have great martial arts skills. I am an unknown disciple of the Quanzhen Sect, and the Taoist name is Tanyou."

Brother Zhenmin didn't agree and asked straight to the point: "Dao Master came to find an ancient tomb?"

I hurriedly explained to him: "This is Brother Zhenmin, and the word "分大" was also branded with the word "分大" on the outside of his father's arm."

After hearing this, the old Taoist priest understood and asked: "Ling Zun also entered the ancient tomb?"

Brother Zhenmin nodded and replied: "For this, I have saved my father's life and the happiness of my family!"

"Since this young man is also a miser, I opened the skylight and spoke loudly, and ordered Zun and the others to enter the ancient tomb. Some people took the treasures in the tomb, while others returned empty-handed!"

Brother Zhenmin immediately said: "My father just returned empty-handed."

"And my grandfather." This sentence is nonsense. Taoist priest has known it for a long time, but before Brother Zhenmin, I want to keep an agreement with him.

The old Taoist priest drank a sip of sorghum wine again and continued: "The person who died first is a relief, or abandoned the car to protect the coach. Although Ling Zun died early, he was in exchange for your safety. Old Ma has lived to this day, but he has been worried about his life. However, this good life has come to an end. It is time for you to pay back the debts owed by your seniors!"

Brother Zhenmin looked pale and asked: "But we don't even know what debts our fathers owed. How should we pay them back? We also don't know where the creditor is!"

Taoist Master Tanyou said proudly: "I am here for this, not for money, only for fame!"

A gust of cold wind blew, blowing open the broken wooden door of the main hall. I hurriedly got up and closed the door. I saw a figure falling from the sky and then floating past my eyes. I was so scared that I sat on the ground with a "good" sound.

Brother Zhenmin immediately snatched out of the main hall and looked into the night sky, and couldn't help but tremble.

The old Taoist priest came over and helped me up and walked out the door.

I clearly saw a figure, but it was as light as paper.

Brother Zhenmin took the flashlight and shone it at the ridge of the main hall. He saw a paper man straddling the ridge of the room.

The old Taoist priest immediately chanted the spell, waved his fingers, and shouted: "Qi!"

A red light ran towards the ridge of the main hall, and the paper man fell to the ground in response to the sound.

Brother Zhenmin was also very scared. The old Taoist priest picked up the paper man and praised: "The craftsmanship is very good, but if this kind of thing is made too realistic, it will cause disaster to the main family."

What made me even more frightened was that the old guy actually took the paper man back into the house. Brother Zhenmin closed the door and explained: "This is what your third aunt bought from Anle Town. It is much more refined than the champion!"

The old guy threw the paper man onto the fire and burned it. In the jumping flames, I saw the paper man's twisted face and seemed to hear him shouting.
