Chapter 129 Old Friends
Lei Xiong and Lei took out Huang Shuchong. Lei Xiong said: "The sixth great-grandfather, the weather is bad, I'm afraid it won't be here tomorrow."
Lei Zhi was energetic and blushed, saying, "I had calculated last night and I could arrive today." After that, his eyes were slightly closed, his five fingers kept counting, and he said, "I can't make a mistake."
Lei Xiong laughed secretly. It is unlikely that he will arrive in Songshan in one day when the weather is good, not to mention that the rain is continuous, the car speed is slower. He has to travel around the middle, and it is good to arrive tomorrow.
As soon as I entered Weizhou City, I was still far from the station. Suddenly, there was a loud "bang" and the tire exploded. The car was parked in the middle of the road, and the cars behind were blocked for a while, and it was soon blocked. There was no spare tire on the car, so the driver had no choice but to refund part of the fare to those who had not arrived at the destination, asking everyone to get off the car, and constantly apologize to the vehicles behind. Lei Xiong complained secretly, let alone to go to Shaolin Temple today.
Lei Zhi smiled and said, "I haven't been to this lively place for a long time. It's fresh, so fresh!"
The old and the young passed through an intersection. A bus in front was parked at the intersection. The glass window was open and someone was talking loudly on the bus.
The driver said, "It was clearly said that it belonged to eighteen people, but why did two people temporarily lose? It was a business that was not profitable. I stopped running away, got out of the car and went down!" As he said that, he pulled out the key, the car turned off and stopped leaving.
A middle-aged man was still quite tough at the time, but he had to soften his tone and said, "Master, you are good at it. For the sake of the Buddha, please send us over."
The others in the car said, "If we don't wait any longer, we will go back halfway, so how can we go back halfway? We will be blamed by the Buddha." No one was willing to get out of the car, and sat still, and no one stood up.
The middle-aged man said, "There are some people in those two families who are sick and can't come! Master, you can do it! Send us there."
The driver said, "Yes, then you give me the fare for eighteen people, and I will go. The Buddha also needs to worship incense, let alone people?"
One person said, "You are making things difficult for us. The money we bring is to pay tribute to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. How can you give it to people? Can you bear it? Are you not afraid of losing your life?"
Lei Zhi asked outside the window, "Where are you going?"
The middle-aged man said, "Dad, please give us some reason. This was said well, and I sent eighteen people to Shaolin Temple. Two people were short of this time. Coincidentally, I could only make money from two people. If these two people don't come, wouldn't I run away in vain? I wouldn't ask them to share the money from these two people. Then I can only stop running away." After saying that, he spread his hands and urged people to get off the car again.
Lei Xiong suddenly realized and said, "We two come to make up for this vacancy, let's go! Drive the car more steadily." The people in the car were very happy and felt that these two were really the Bodhisattva of Saving the World. Lei Xiong secretly admired Lei Zhi very much.
The car was steady and fast, and drove northward and passed the provincial boundary. Although it was still cloudy, the ground was dry, and it was obvious that it had not rained. When we arrived at Mount Song, a ray of sunset had just set, and the sky was covered with clean light orange. People hiked up the mountain and arrived at the gate, and there were already several middle-aged monks wearing cassocks waiting. The middle-aged man in the car saw them and went to salute each other.
Lei Xiong and Lei Zhi were arranged to have dinner with the people of the Buddha's reign and were arranged in a large wing room. This wing room was probably specially used to receive believers of the Buddha's reign and could accommodate more than 100 people. After a while, the middle-aged monk who received them came over and took the list of the believers from the middle-aged man who led the team. On the list, Lei Zhi and Lei Xiong's names were also added. The middle-aged monk gave a few words and told him not to walk around at night. He said that at five o'clock tomorrow morning, he heard the big bell ringing three times at the door of the wing room, and went to the Great Hall to listen to the sutra and make a wish, and then the lights went out.
After the monk left, Lei Xiong was afraid that Lei Zhi would not be able to sleep at night and said, "Sixth Great-grandfather, I will take you to see the abbot now." He thought he would agree, but Lei Zhi said, "I have been waiting for sixty years. I don't care about these more hours. See you tomorrow. Let's take a break!" Lei Xiong said, "Okay, I will also see my master tomorrow."
People came to the temple and were very pious. After changing the noise in the car, they all became quiet. Soon, a snoring sound rang out. Lei Xiong lay down and couldn't sleep for a while. He felt that this dinner was much better than the vegetarian meals he had in the previous two days. Although it was still vegetarian, the color, fragrance and smell were very different from the previous ones. It was just that it was much worse than the vegetarian food that Yan Wu made for them in Jinglei'an. He couldn't help but think of Yan Wu, and his heart moved. I wonder if she was thinking of herself at the moment. She was sleeping in herself.
I don't know if I am used to it. In the darkness, I feel funny for myself. How can I touch the affection of my children? I once said that I would come here to become a monk in the future. If it weren't for all kinds of opportunities that would make him and Yan Wu feel in love or even make a lifelong life, he would really come here to become a monk one day. By then, he didn't know if he could really forget Yan Wu. When he thought about this, he felt sad. He knew that now, he was unable to control his love. There was no need to say what was more important to him.
"Dangdangdang--"
Three bells sounded softly, and the believers had already washed up, dressed neatly, walked in one after another, and came to the Main Hall. A group of monks lined up in line, standing dignifiedly in front of the incense table. The old monk in the middle had a peaceful face and a clean expression. It was the abbot Huisan.
Lei Xiong whispered: "Sixth Great-grandfather, is the abbot your best friend back then?"
Lei Zhi looked dull and said, "He... is Wu Nian."
Lei Xiong said: "When the Buddhist affairs are over, we will go and find him to recognize him."
Huisan took the list of believers from the monk on the left, and sang and recited them one by one. Each believer who heard his name would come out, kowtowed three times to the Buddha in the middle, and then return to his position.
Huisan stared at every person who came out with kind eyes. When she thought of "Leizhi Leixiong", her eyebrows trembled slightly. She glanced at the crowd and saw one old and one young slowly leaving the line. Before dawn, candles were burning on the incense table, and fluorescent lights were lit on the walls of the hall. They were crowded with people, casting shadows on the faces of the people next to her. However, Huisan still saw the appearance of the old and one young, and looked at them without changing their faces and kowtowed, and then returned to their positions. Then, a few clear chimes sounded, making people feel peaceful and happy. After the chimes, Huisan bowed to everyone, and her eyes swept over Leizhi and Leixiong.
After leaving slowly, the other monk began to recite Buddhist scriptures. Lei Xiong couldn't understand it, and felt that the general idea should be to promote the vastness of Buddhism and persuade the lifelong accumulation of virtue and good deeds to achieve everything. After half an hour of the concept, two monks lit up the torches, knocked on the chimes, led everyone to several side halls, lit firecrackers, bowed to the Bodhisattva, and returned to the main hall. Back to the main hall, he walked around the Buddha statue for seven times before the Buddhist affairs were over. At this time, it was just dawn, and the middle-aged monk who was receiving said that after breakfast, everyone could visit the temple in an orderly manner, and they could go to the Thousand Buddha Hall to worship and donate incense.
The sun emerged from the mountain, and people formed a group of three or five to kowtow in the temple where Buddha statues and Bodhisattvas were worshipped. The middle-aged man in charge of the team told everyone to hurry up and gather at the mountain gate at 10 o'clock and return to Weizhou.
One old and one young outside the Main Hall, Lei Xiong said: "Sixth great-grandfather, go and see the abbot now! Otherwise it would be too late, and he would teach the monks morning class later."
Lei Zhi shook his head and said, "I don't know why, I don't want to see you now. Let's go with me to worship every Bodhisattva."
Lei Xiong was surprised and said, "Sixth Great-grandfather, are you confused? You are so old that you came here thousands of miles away. Did you come here to worship the Bodhisattva like them?"
Lei Zhi said, "Don't ask, go! Worship the Bodhisattva."
Lei Xiong refused to go, saying, "If you don't go, I'll go and tell him! Let him come to see you."
As soon as he finished speaking, a heavy and old voice sounded: "Donor Lei, are you blaming me for not recognizing you?" It was Huisan.
Lei Xiong was overjoyed and called out "Abbot" but Lei Zhi had no expression on his face and said, "You are the abbot of your temple. You have a lot of troubles, so how can you have the intention to see me, an old man?"
Huisan still had a peaceful face and said, "Let's go, please go to a quiet place with me."
The three of them walked through the Dharma Courtyard and sat in a pavilion. When a monk saw the abbot coming, he came to pay tribute. Huisan instructed the monk to make a pot of tea, pour a bowl for each of the three of them, and then ordered him to guard a little farther away and not to disturb others.
Everything was ready, Huisan said: "Donor Lei, I never expected that we would meet again here in our lifetime."
Although Lei Zhi saw that his appearance and posture had changed a lot, his expression seemed to be the same as before. He couldn't help but shed tears. He grabbed his hands and said, "Do you think I really came to worship Buddha? I came to see you specifically. If you don't look at you, I will die with my eyes open."
The two old hands clasped each other and felt the strong internal strength of the other party. Huisan said: "Since you came to see me specifically, why didn't you come to me last night? It seems that you still refused to see me just now. Are you blamed for neglecting you?"
Lei Zhi turned sadness into joy and said, "Wu Nian, I'm not blaming you, I'm afraid. At that time, we were all young men. After more than 60 years of separation, we are about to die now. Thinking of many past events back then, I feel uneasy, and I want to see you but dare not see you."
Only then did Lei Xiong realize that Lei Zhi did not abide by the rules of the temple, but was because he was in a complicated mood and refused to meet his close friend.
Huizan looked at Lei Xiong and said, "When I learned that your surname is Lei, I should have thought that you would be people very close to you. But I am in Buddhism and don't want to know too much. But I know that my tips for you are my subconscious concern for me, an old friend. Alas! Although I am a Shaolin abbot, I am also a common person, and I cannot get rid of the three poisons of greed, anger, and ignorance."
