Chapter IX The Western Turkic War ended

In the third year of Xianqing (658 AD), March 16th, at one hour.

In Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, there is a big river named Chu River. It was called Sai River before the Western Han Dynasty. In the third year of Jianzhao in the Western Han Dynasty, it drove the Xiongnu out of the Tianshan Mountains and reached the Sir River Basin. The Han army changed the Sai River to Chu River and built cities and named it Chucheng, because most of the soldiers at that time were from Chu.

The Tang people called it the Saiye River. On the south bank of the Saiye River, there is a military city called Saiye City (Kyrgyzstan, southwest of Tokmak City, Ak Beshim), which is the old nest of Shaboluo Khan. About 43 years later, the Chinese Quxing in the city came to earth and the old drunkard Li Bai was born.

There is a Jinya Mountain in the northeast of Saiye City, on the north bank of Saiye River. The Turks called it Jiedan Mountain, which was the holy mountain they believed in. It is said to be the residence of the Emperor of Heaven. When the Turks made a vow, they had to point to Jiedan Mountain. The ceremony was also held in this mountain.

The eastern foot of Jinya Mountain, the vast grassland is falling into a sea of corpse and blood. The Shaboluo Turkic soldiers fought with the Yilidao coalition forces of the Tang Dynasty, hundreds of thousands of soldiers and horses. Wu Kang called it the Battle of Jinya Mountain, the decisive battle of the Western Expedition, and it was also the most difficult battle.

On the eighth day of the March 19th, at the Archangel tribe, the Northern Army encountered a blizzard, and Su Dingfang ordered a journey day and night. At noon on March 12th, two hundred miles away from Jinya Mountain, he met with the Southern Pacification Army. Lao Su convened a military meeting and discussed with Ashinami Shooting and Ashinabuzhen: the army was raising energy, and the soldiers were full and sleeping. Two days later, the troops arrived at Jinya Mountain.

Wu Kang led the scout camp and sneaked into Jinya Mountain to inquire. He learned about the movements of Shaboluo. He Lu really relaxed his vigilance and hunted in the western part of Jinya Mountain. Lao Su's guess was fulfilled. He was so happy that he danced and then became sad. On the way back, he encountered He Lu's wolf soldiers.

He used his hands to catch mice, and fought wits and courage in the hundreds of miles, and each tried his best. The Wukang hero cut off his arm, sacrificed five scouts, and killed the seventeen wolf soldiers. He was gloriously injured, and his left chest was cut twice, with a wound of ten centimeters long. Fortunately, his leather armor was tough, and his chest muscles were strong, so he just cut the epidermis.

He returned to the camp in a panic and urgently treated the wound. The medical soldiers stitched two centipedes in his chest. Su Dingfang learned about the information and immediately formed a formation. At the 16th of March, he arrived in Jinya Shandong. At the next hour, he launched a fierce attack on He Lu, and the Battle of Jinya Mountain began.

He Lu was not prepared enough and soon fell into a disadvantage, causing countless soldiers to lose. However, this mountain was a holy mountain, and He Lu was unwilling to give up and strictly ordered to stand firm and wait for assistance. At about six o'clock, the reinforcements of the Sai Ye arrived, and the main force's decisive battle began, and the battle entered a fierce attack.

The central army tent was silent, and the big bosses remained silent. Su Dingfang stared at the map. Wu Kang sat upright, his wounds were extremely itchy, as if he was bitten by an ant. He scratched itch through the cotton coat, and it became more and more itchy. Chu Shenke, who had killed thousands of swords, was a ancestral golden sore medicine.

About half a quarter of an hour, a rapid pace rang outside the tent, and the communications soldier hurriedly reported: "Report to the Grand Marshal, the Qianquan Zhechong Prefecture on the northern line, and encountered the Bumoda cadre. The reinforcements stubbornly blocked the propulsion and stagnated. The Zhechong Commander Zhang Guiliang died for his country. The left Guoyi and Zhang Quan and the right Guoyi Qinbailu were asked for help from the central army."

The big tent was instantly suppressed. Su Dingfang was silent for a long time, waved his hand to send the communications soldiers, and continued to stare at the map. The guards of Qianquan Palace only had five hundred Tang soldiers, and the rest were Turkic surrendered soldiers. They were not strong in combat and fought in the Holy Mountain. The surrendered soldiers were stubbornly blocked and they would definitely not work hard. It’s a pity that Zhang Guiliang, a tough man in Guanzhong, must lead the way every battle.

It seems that Asina Helu was determined to eat the weight and resisted stubbornly to the end. Wu Kang expressed his understanding that fifty miles behind Jinya Mountain is the old nest of Saiye City. If this battle fails, Shaboluo will collapse, and those who are waiting for Helu will only escape or die.

Put down the teacup in his hand, press his right leg lightly with his right hand, and beat it rhythmically. This battle is extremely difficult and you must grit your teeth and persevere. Victory will eventually belong to the Tang Dynasty. In the battle of Yishe, He Lu ended in a crushing defeat. Wu Bi Bi and Wu Dulu surrendered, his ending was already destined.

Without the ten Turkic surnames, he could not withstand the Tang Dynasty's soldiers. The Battle of Jinyashan was his last madness. After the war ended, the soldiers broke into Yecheng and the war was declared over. At that time, Lao Su applied to lead all his brothers back to Luoyang in advance. He went to war in February last year, and has been missing his wife and daughter day and night for the whole year.

The correspondent soldier reported again, interrupting his thoughts and brought good news: Four thousand Uighur cavalry defeated Helu Zuoxiang Army; General Pugu, killed Chu Mukunchu; joined Xinchengfu, approached Jinya Mountain South, and attacked Zuoxiang Houjun.

The atmosphere finally warmed up, and the boss showed joy and came to the central sand table. Wu Kang pulled out the four blue flags, representing the four thousand cavalry on the left wing, throwing them into the box of the dead flag. He pulled out six red flags, representing the four thousand Uighur soldiers and two thousand New City Infantry. He moved to the southeast foot of Jinya Mountain, headed in front of the six blue flags, and inserted heavily into clay.

The two colors of chess are clearly divided into two colors, and the red flag that has not moved for a long time has taken a decisive step. Su Dingfang picked up his long beard and looked at Porun Khan, and sincerely praised him: "The Uighur warriors are brave and good at fighting; the Pugu prince is brave and the three armies; General Porun has successors."

Mishe and Bu Zhen, Ren Yaxiang and Wu Kang all agreed and offered warm flattery. Po Run smiled and danced with joy, and kept being modest. Chu Mukun was He Lu's son-in-law and a hard-working person. Cutting off his head was of great political significance, which was equivalent to killing 100,000 soldiers in the formation.

Wu Kang sincerely praised him and threatened that the battle would end and the wrestling with Pugu made everyone laugh. Po Run immediately agreed and said with great confidence: "Wu Guojiu is brave and good at fighting. If you talk about bowing, horses, riding and shooting, you will be half a pound with Pugu. If you talk about wrestling and sumo, the uncle will definitely be defeated, and Pugu is the first in the Uighur."

Friendship is the first, competition is the second, and joining if you can't win, it's no big deal. Wu Kang smiled and respected the Uighur tribe very much. They were distant ancestors of the Uyghur tribe and also had a strong friend of the Tang Dynasty. They made great contributions to the great cause of unification of the Tang Dynasty.

Po Run's father Tu Midu, the first Uighur Khan who surrendered, helped the Tang Dynasty destroy Xueyantuo. Later, he was killed by his nephew Wuhe. Po Run succeeded Khan and succeeded as General of the Left Guard, Daqi Lifa, and the governor of Hanhai. This time, he attacked the Western Turks, Po Run volunteered to lead 5,000 cavalry to join the war.

The main reason was that the Uighurs knew that gratitude was a real friendly country. With the help of the Tang Dynasty, they gradually became stronger, established the Uighur Khanate, and dominated the grasslands in the northern desert. After they became powerful, they did not invade and were still controlled by the Tang Dynasty. They also knew how to repay gratitude and helped to quell the Anshi Rebellion and turn the Tang Dynasty into danger.

The correspondent soldiers arrived again, and there was good news: Asina Yuanqing, Asina Yuanshuang, Xiao Siye and Chu Shenke, annihilated the 4,000 cavalry of the right wing. Yuanshuang took the lead, captured Asina Bobu alive, and defeated the rear army of the right wing. Chu Shenke led Xinglong Mansion, occupied the Jinya North Line, and was attacking the southern line.

There was a burst of laughter in the tent, and Mi Sagittarius danced. Yuan Qing and Yuan Shuang were both his sons. When the sons showed their faces, I was naturally relieved. Wu Kang was also relieved. Lao Chu and Xinglong Mansion were both good things and did not disappoint the boss.

Everyone flattered, praising the tiger father without a dog son, and was not humble in the air, and accepting it happily. The two Asina brothers, with the same name as Mei Niang's brother, were much stronger than them. The sixth generation of Turkic nobles were all brave and fierce, and they were all powerful generals in the army.

Inadvertently, Jian discovered that jealousy disappeared in Ashi Nabuzhen's eyes and his smile was very hypocritical. Wu Kang sneered at him. This was a hypocrite who had been plotting against his brothers throughout his life. About four years later, he falsely accused Mishe of rebellion, which led to Mishe being unjustly killed.

I was too lazy to pay attention to the dirty work, performed my duties, and inserted the sand table military flag. The black Jinya Mountain, with red flags on the north and south, like an outstretched fist. Cooperating with the central army, it was a half-moon shape, and the Turks were surrounded. With this momentum, it would not take long before He Lu would collapse.

In the following time, spies frequently came, and the red flag was advancing step by step, eroding the blue flag space. The dead flags in the box, nine blue and three red, had a good battle loss ratio. He Lu was at the end of his strength, and the big guys were relieved and the atmosphere became more and more relaxed.

They each sat down, drinking tea leisurely, and chatting happily. Wu Kang stayed at his post, listened to the battle reports, moved the red flags, and kept removing the blue flags. The encirclement became smaller and the battle reports became more and more frequent, and the gains reached 20,000 people.

Half an hour later, when they heard the vague cheers, everyone stood up and left together. Wu Kang smiled silently, threw away the small flag in his hand, left the tent of the central army. He took the money and went to the reins in his hand, hung the horizontal knife in Pinglang's hand, stepped on the stirrup and put on the horse's back, and followed Su Dingfang to leave.

The closer they got to Jinya Mountain, the louder the cheers were, and soon the earth was shaken. Countless war horses were gathered by the Tang soldiers; large areas of Turkic soldiers squatted on the ground honestly and surrendered with their hands. On the outside of the large army, the big men dismounted, strode and meteored straight to the foot of Jinya Mountain.

On the Turkic command platform, Su Dingfang gently stroked the huge yellow war drum. He looked up at the flagpole and stared at the blue flag. It was He Lu's big flag. The so-called drum flag was the token given to the leaders of ethnic minorities who were crowned by the emperor and rewarded them.

Su Dingfang ordered the flag to be lowered, and Wu Kang stepped forward and pulled out the horizontal knife from his waist. He held the hilt of the knife with both hands, his legs naturally spread apart, and the blade was raised above his head. With a dull roar, he tried his best to drive the blade, and slashed the flagpole hard.

After cutting more than a dozen times, the flag slowly fell, and the boss held it together. Bu Zhen untied the flag, spread it on the high platform, and folded it carefully. Ren Yaxiang held it with both hands, came to Su Dingfang, faced the Tang soldiers below the stage, and shouted at the top of his lungs: The Tang Dynasty is victorious, the coalition forces are mighty...

In an instant, the mountains roared, and the soldiers waved their arms high. The echo of Jinya Mountain mixed with the roar of Tang soldiers, and the momentum soared into the sky. Wu Kang couldn't help but feel excited, and his blood was burning all over his body. The war finally ended. His right hand couldn't help but tremble, and his heart was mixed.

From the Battle of Yiji River to the Battle of Jinya Mountain, dozens of battles were fought in more than three months. The blood of the Tang Dynasty guards sprinkled with blood from the Western Regions, at least eight thousand robes, and buried in various battlefields. Including my brothers and one hundred and eight brothers, I hope your souls will pass through Liangshan and become prosperous again.

However, in order to cheer and win in front of you, all the sacrifices in the past are valuable. The roar lasted for a long time, and Su Dingfang sent military orders again, so the cavalry prepared and immediately attacked Yecheng. The infantry cleared the battlefield, rested for half an hour, and gathered under Yecheng.

Wu Kang followed the boss and brought 20,000 cavalry to cross the Saiye River, and the troops were approaching Saiye City. The Turks surrendered and the Tang army collected all their troops, marking the official end of the Western Turkic Battle. From the fourth year of Yonghui to the third year of Xianqing, He Lu, which had a disaster in the Western Regions, became history.

During this conquest, the Tang army collected about 400,000 people and animals, which was a huge success. Unfortunately, the only thing was that He Lu took his son Yuyun, his son-in-law Yan Chuan and others, and about a hundred remaining soldiers continued to flee westward.

That night, in Helu's palace, Su Dingfang convened a military meeting. The specific contents are as follows: Five crossbows and Five Dulu, including the other tribes, returned to their residences. The General of Right Martial Guard, Ashinamishe, temporarily took charge of Five Dulu; the General of Left Guard, Ashinabuzhen, temporarily took charge of Five Crossbows and Five Dulu.

Su Dingfang stayed in Suye City, and was the guardian of Yanran, and was responsible for handling the aftermath. Such as opening passages, setting up post offices, burying the bones of the battlefield, condolences to the sufferings of the people, demarcating tribes, restoring livestock production, and planning a new order.

At the same time, a solemn promise was made to the leaders of various tribes that all those who were looted by He Lu, including property and population, cattle, sheep, horses and other livestock, would be returned to the original owner. The chiefs instantly climaxed, knelt neatly outside the tent, heading towards Chang'an, thanking Li Jiu for his kindness.

Porun Khan and his son brought thousands of Uighur cavalry to return to the tent of Mobei. After handling the trivial matters, they returned to Beijing to report their orders, waiting for Li Jiu to reward him. Wu Kang hid in the corner, gradually wandered around the sky, recalling the battle of the Western Turks, and summarizing the military strategies.

First of all, we adopt differentiation and isolation, combined with key attacks. The five differentiation crossbows were lost, and the five Dulu and isolated Sha Bolu were isolated. We chased and fought relentlessly, attacked them unexpectedly, and finally won a great victory. The sphere of influence of the Tang Dynasty, so it may continue to expand in Central Asia.

Wukang is full of evil tastes, and countries that are vassalized by the Western Turks will also embrace the Tang Dynasty and come to accept allegiance. Where will the territory, or sphere of influence of the Tang Dynasty extend? The Caspian Sea or the Aral Sea? The more I think about it, the more excited I am, the face makes me laugh, and it feels that this trip is worth it.

However, less than five minutes later, his smile froze on his face, and Su Dingfang said lightly: "General Bianzhi and General Xiao, led 800 elite cavalry to capture He Lu and Yan Yun. According to his confidant's instructions, he might escape from the Rat, so you can set off tomorrow."

Wu Kang was confused on the spot. I plan to go home. Don’t cheat me. Lao Su knew it very well and threw out a big temptation: "As long as you catch He Lu and bring it back and submit the matter, I will issue an official document immediately and allow you to go home early. At the same time, report to the certificate of victory, report your contributions in detail, and help you become an official again."

The old man is very bad, and he has taken my weakness. Now he has no official position and has no income. He lives on his wife and daughter's fief and Mei Niang's help. Although the soft rice is delicious, it is always a bit embarrassing. In order to become an official again, I will pinch my nose and recognize it.

He ordered the cavalry to prepare, communicate with Xiao Siye, and determine the pursuit route. The next day, he hurriedly finished breakfast and took away all his brothers. He joined Xiao Siye, headed southwest, rushed to chase day and night.

I asked the herdsmen along the way. On March 25, I chased to Sudu City, Shiguo (near Tashkent, Uzbekistan). I discussed with Xiao Siye and waited outside the city. We took a few people into the city and bought some supplies. Lao Xiao agreed, and the two brought the ten guards to the north gate of Sudu City.

The city gate was closed, the suspension bridge was pulled up, and the soldiers on the city were as if they were facing a great enemy. The translator walked forward and shouted according to the instructions: We are soldiers from the Tang Dynasty, and we are ready to go to the city of Rat, and go to the city to buy food. We have no malice. If the city lord is worried, he can use a hanging basket to deliver food.

About half an hour, the city gate slowly opened and a large group of soldiers rushed out. The two old men, both of whom were around 60 years old, were dressed very gorgeously. Wu Kang was very pleased that in the Western Regions, the word "Da Tang" was a visa, a golden sign.

The father-in-law looked kind and a little nervous. He clasped his fists here, his posture was very unstable. The fat man on the left was rumbling and muttered, it should be Turkic. Wu Kang couldn't understand, and the translator explained in a low voice: The person who spoke was the Lord Su Du, named Inetagan, and the father-in-law next to him was the king. He asked us if we were soldiers of the Tang Dynasty.

Since he was a king, he had to be respected, and everyone turned over and dismounted. Wu Kang stepped forward and said with his fists: "Dear King, respected city lord, we are guardians of the Tang Dynasty. Under the order of General Su, we went to the Shinnushe tribe to capture the rebel He Lu. We passed through the boundaries of your country and wanted to enter the city to buy supplies. Please make some convenience."

The king was happy and did not allow the guard to follow him. He only brought the city lord over and stroked his chest with his right hand. The two sides exchanged greetings for a moment. The king said that he would give him a gift, and the city lord clapped his hands heavily. As everyone was confused, scolding sounded in the city, and armored soldiers escorted the prisoners and walked out of the city gate.

The prisoner was tied up in a big way and his mouth was tied up by a hemp rope, like a walking corpse. The leader was He Lu, as well as Ashina Lu's son-in-law Yan Chuo. It was such a great gift. Wu Kang couldn't hide his excitement and said with confidence: "This person is He Lu, the person we are looking for, why is it in the hands of your country?"

The king was quite proud and talked endlessly: "Just three days ago, Helu came to Sudu, because he was hungry in his stomach, and exchanged jewelry for food. Inetargan learned that he opened the city gate to greet them and served them with fine wine. When it was late at night, he took the traitor in his sleep with his sword and axe."

Oh, my brother, I did a great job, and helped me a lot. Wu Kang expressed his gratitude again, and the king continued to tell: "Ienedagan reported the message, and I came to Sudu City and waited for the arrival of the noble envoys. I offered He Lu and others rebellion, as the sincerity of the Shi Kingdom, and made good friends with the Shangguo of Tiantang."

The two of them were so happy that they couldn't stop, and they searched for it without any effort. He Lu was a mouse crossing the street, so naturally everyone shouted and beat him. Wu Kang smiled and said solemnly: "Wu Kang was grateful for your country's help; your country's sincerity will be reported to the chief executive."

Xiao Siye responded: "I am the Minister of the Honglu Temple. Your country's kindness will be rewarded to the saint. Your country will make such a great contribution, and the saint will clearly distinguish between rewards and punishments, so he will definitely be willing to reward you. Xiao sincerely wishes that the Tang Dynasty and the Shi Kingdom will always make a brotherly country."

After the translation was translated, the king was so excited that the soldiers cheered and shouted. In their hearts, the Tang Dynasty was the country of the Heavenly Kingdom, and the reward from the Emperor of Tang was a great glory. From the king's fanatical expression, we can see that they were a group of rural bullies who had never seen the world.

Wu Kang walked to He Lu, untied his horse and said lightly: "There are many helps when you have the Tao, but few helps when you lose the Tao, and few helps when you are the one who is betrayed by your relatives and relatives. You are a hero of a generation, but you are in such a field. No wonder others are blamed for your own death."

Helu was decadent and lonely, Wu Kang was sarcastic: "Asina Helu, in order to catch you, I gave up my wonderful holiday. From Luoyang to Xinjiang, to Kazakhstan, to Kyrgyzstan, and finally Uzbekistan. From East Asia to Central Asia, I ran half of the earth, you are really naughty."

Everyone was confused, He Lu couldn't understand, so he closed his eyes. Xiao Siye coughed dryly, came to him, and asked with a sharp voice: "Taizong treats you very well, why did he rebel against the Tang Dynasty and provoke the Western Regions' military forces. Now he has become a prisoner, may I ask Shaboluo Khan, what should you be guilty?"

After a long time, He Lu opened his eyes and sighed: "I was originally a deceased enemy. The late emperor treated me well, but I betrayed him. The heaven was angry and punished, and there was nothing to say, it was retribution. I heard that the Tang Dynasty law said that killing people must be in the downtown area, and I don't want to beheaded. Wu Guojiu, General Xiao, I would die if Zhaoling was willing to die, and apologize to the late emperor..."
