Chapter 34 Movie Channel

Many people see that the channel number of the movie channel is CCTV6, and think that the movie channel is a subordinate department of CCTV. In fact, this is a huge misunderstanding. The movie channel is a direct agency of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and is a separate TV station. However, satellite programs are broadcast on CCTV and are just using the channel number of CCTV. In terms of level, the movie channel and CCTV are both the same level as the CCTV, and are both the sons of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.

The movie channel was broadcast in 1996. At that time, domestic film production was too small, and foreign films could not be introduced in large quantities because of the high copyright fees. Foreign films were purchased on time, which means they were not allowed to be broadcasted three or four times. As a state-owned enterprise, the movie channel cannot play pirated copies, so it adopted a method learned from abroad, investing in and shooting films by itself, and then playing them on the movie channel. Because of its low investment and affordable content, TV movies quickly became the main component of the movie channel program. The movie channel also specially set up a "TV Film Department" to be responsible for the approval, project establishment and investment of TV movies.

TV movies are movies specially made for TV broadcasts. They use the language and narrative methods of movies, but they are not released in cinemas. The famous "Detective Hunter" is a TV movie series. The first two movies of "Singing and Dance" are also TV movies. They became very popular after being broadcast on TV. When Disney saw that it was a big deal, it filmed the third movie in the theater and finally made a lot of money.

The office building of the Movie Channel is No. 2 Tucheng Road, and Beidian is No. 4 Tucheng Road. The two units can be said to be separated by a wall.

Zhang Ran walked into the office building of the movie channel, presented the Qing Film Studio's official letter to the beautiful front desk lady, and explained his purpose.

The front desk lady heard that Zhang Ran was a teacher from Beijing Film Academy and was on behalf of Qing Film Studio to discuss cooperation, so she didn't dare to stop her and immediately called the TV and Film Department.

"Hey, Director Yue? I'm Lu Ping, that's it. Teacher Zhang Ran from Beijing Film Academy. He brought a project from Qing Film Studio to cooperate with us. OK, I'll invite him in now!"

After hanging up the phone, the front desk lady smiled sweetly at Zhang Ran and guided the way forward very respectfully: "Teacher Zhang, please come here!"

"Okay, thank you." Zhang Ran hurriedly followed.

In the movie channel building, the decoration is exquisitely and elegant, with the style of a large unit. In the director's office on the second floor, Zhang Ran met Yue Tao, the director of the TV and Film Department, who was in his thirties, wearing glasses, was slightly fat, and looked very honest.

"Director Yue, this is Teacher Zhang Ran from Beijing Electric."

"You go down first." Yue Tao waved his hand to the front desk, looked at Zhang Ran up and down, a little surprised at his youth. The teacher was really young and said with a smile, "Teacher Zhang, please sit down! Your teachers at Beijing Electric are all very busy people, why do you have time to come to our small pool?"

Zhang Ran sat down on the sofa, without talking nonsense, took out the official letter and script from his bag and handed it to the other party: "We have a movie project in our hands and are preparing to cooperate with the movie channel. The official letter and script of the Qing Film Studio. Director Yue first read it, and we will talk after reading it!"

"Okay, I'll read it first!" Yue Tao responded, looked at the official letter, then picked up the script and opened it slowly.

Yue Tao can receive many scripts every day, and very few scripts can impress him. He casually swept the text on it, but he was soon attracted by the content on it and his eyes widened.

The whole story is simple, but it is tortuous, exciting, and even thrilling, unexpectedly exciting!

Yue Tao's thoughts were all in, his eyes never left the script, and he was immersed in the story.

Zhang Ran sat on the sofa, staring at Yue Tao's reaction, and relaxed his heart. Judging from Yue Tao's performance, he liked this story.

After a long time, Yue Tao finally raised his head and let out a heavy breath.

"How is it?" Zhang Ran asked knowingly.

Yue Tao took a deep breath, pointed to the script in horror and asked, "This script is very exciting. I have been doing TV movies for two or three years. I have talked to many directors about the script, but I have never seen a story like "Prisoner of Time". Why don't you just make a movie but make a TV movie?"

Zhang Ran sighed and said, "The film market is in a downturn now. At the beginning of this year, Zhang Yimou's "Happy Time" had such a big scene, and so many stars had only 5 million box office. Who dares to invest in me like me? Qing Film Studio invested in "The True Chef King" two years ago, but it lost all its money. It has not recovered yet and has no money to invest at all! It is the safest to cooperate with the movie channel. Although I can't make much money, at least I won't lose money."

Yue Tao looked at the script in his hand and pondered: "I like this story very much, but you are a science fiction story. The final outcome is forty years. It is impossible to shoot casually. The cost of shooting well will definitely be very high. We usually invest in urban themes with a standard of 1 million. If the cost is too high, we will increase it as appropriate, but at most it will increase by hundreds of thousands, not too much!"

Hearing that the investment can be increased by 1 million, Zhang Ran was overjoyed: "There is no need to add too much. If I were asked to guide, 1.2 million can be completed!"

Yue Tao was shocked and doubted Zhang Ran's words: "1.2 million? How is this possible? Is this a science fiction film?"

Zhang Ran said confidently: "Although it is a science fiction film, there are not many special effects, there are only three places. One is Cao Lin and the others are on the time machine until now. This scene is similar to the Terminator. There are many lightning. This special effects are easy to do. Just use AE to do it. I can do it. The second is a car collision scene. It is very simple to use green screen to do it. The third is a scene forty years later. This is more complicated. You can choose a relatively prosperous area in Peking, so that the heroine can fly from a distance in a flying car, and then stop at the door of the hotel. The sci-fi sense comes out immediately. This requires green screen, plus 3dmax modeling, and then synthesis, but it is not too difficult. What we only shoot is a TV movie, broadcast on TV, and the special effects are not high. The roughness is not a big impact. There are many students in our school's animation department, with good 3D modeling and CG production. They can make satisfactory effects!"

"It seems that Teacher Zhang is confident about filming the movie. If so, then there is a great possibility that the script will be passed." Yue Tao didn't understand AE and 3D modeling at all. After hearing Zhang Ran's simple statement, he felt a little suspicious. "Teacher Zhang seems to have a good understanding of special effects. Have you ever had any experience in shooting before?"

Zhang Ran was waiting for this sentence: "Before returning to China, I participated in the shooting of some movies in the United States, including science fiction films, the use of green screens, and the later CG synthesis. I have absolutely certainty in the special effects!"

When Yue Tao heard that Zhang Ran came back from the United States and had participated in the shooting of science fiction films, he understood a little: "Teacher Zhang has been in the United States and has participated in the shooting of movies in the United States?"

"My undergraduate and graduate students were both studying at UCLA. The director department of this school is a bit different from that of China. It emphasizes practice. It only teaches for the first year, and basically shoots films by myself. The school is very close to Fox Films and Sony Film Studios, and it only takes a few minutes to arrive. In the United States, I have participated in the shooting of some films, including science fiction films, such as "Invasion of Brain Cells" and "Star Legend". I am sure about the special effects!"

Zhang Ran did participate in the shooting of some films when he was in the United States, but they were all small-cost movies and independent movies. Large-scale films usually use members of relevant associations and do not hire non-member students. He said this just to make Yue Tao believe in his strength.

Sure enough, Yue Tao heard that Zhang Ran had participated in filming movies in the United States, and participated in science fiction films such as "Invasion of Brain Cells" and "Star Legend", and his eyes lit up: "Since Teacher Zhang has experience in this area, I feel relieved. The movie channel has been filming rural films and costume films in the past two years. If it comes to a science fiction film, it will definitely be very attractive. I will organize the first review as soon as possible. But you also know that we receive a lot of scripts every day, and the review is relatively slow, and we usually give a reply within three weeks. After passing, there will be a second and third reviews. Only when the third review is passed will the script be established and enter the production process."

After chatting with Yue Tao for a while, Zhang Ran asked about the technical specifications of TV movies, such as the standards of the video, the rules of the voice, etc., and then stood up to say goodbye.

Walking out of the movie channel building, Zhang Ran looked back and saw that the story of "Prisoner of Time" is novel and unique, and it is exciting enough, and it is not difficult to pass the review. However, the movie channel was only willing to invest 50% in the early stage, and the remaining 50% was a huge obstacle. If the remaining 50% were not raised, the movie would not be able to start the film normally.

If the budget for "Prisoner of Time" is 1.2 million, you have to solve 600,000 yuan by yourself. Zhang Ran doesn't even have 6,000 yuan now, so how to solve the 600,000 yuan is really a big problem.

Zhang Ran felt that he needed to think about it carefully, so he walked across the street and walked to the Jimen Smoky Tree Scenic Area, where Yuan Dadu Ruins Park was located opposite. The willows by the river sway in the wind, like the waist of a woman in Jiangnan, beautiful and gentle. The Qianlong imperial book Jimen Smoky Tree Monument stands quietly, but it feels like "the fragrant trees are crowded with Jimen, and the vast smoke fills the suburbs".

There is an open-air coffee by the river. Zhang Ran asked for a drink, sat in his seat, took a sip, and then lowered his head to think about how to invest.

The sun above the head is still fierce, shining with extremely brilliant golden light spots through the dense leaves. The large umbrella covers a quiet shade. Sitting down, you can feel comfortable and comfortable.

After thinking for a while, Zhang Ran didn't think of it, so he opened the script and examined the plot he created again to see if there was any good solution.

If you want to get money before filming a movie, the best way is to implant advertisements, but most of the scenes in "Prisoner of Time" take place in hotels, and there is no good implant method.

Zhang Ran flipped the script back and forth, thinking about various possibilities, but never thought of a good implant method. The implantation advertisement must be combined with the content and must be appropriate. The rigid implantation will only make people disgusted and they will not get enough implantation fees.

After a while, Zhang Ran felt dizzy and took a heavy breath, put down the script, and moved his hands and feet.

A beautiful girl sat at the table next to her, wearing a beige dress, and her hair tied up made her white jade-like pink neck reveal her white jade-like pink neck. Her ears were stuffed with black earplugs, her hands were placed on the table, and her left hand held a blue MP3; her five fingers were gently rhythmic, as if she was playing the piano.

A light of inspiration flashed through Zhang Ran's mind, and his eyes lit up suddenly. It's this, just use this!
