In fact, the matter of singing talent shows has always been the focus of major TV stations. After all, no one is envious of the popularity of "American Idols". In addition to Fox TV, the three major public TV stations, including Disney's own channel, have tried to hold their own singing talent shows, but unfortunately the influence has not reached a certain level and has always been just entertaining themselves.

In 2005, "Dance Forest Battle" was launched on Fox TV again - it was still written by Evan Bell, and coupled with the "x factor" held in full swing in the UK, the TV stations naturally could no longer sit still.

Before this, NBC TV station tested Evan Bell's tone twice, and even directly contacted the three judges and producer Nigil Leggs of "American Idol", which shows that the competition is fierce. In fact, several other TV stations have tested it to a greater or lesser extent, but Evan Bell refused very firmly. Indeed, "American Idol" is in the limelight, so Evan Bell naturally does not need to bring wolves into the house by himself, which is not a wise choice. Therefore, major TV stations can only return in a bad mood.

In the past year or two years, Evan Bell has not taken singing talent programs seriously, and major TV stations have lost their minds for the time being. But why does this week seem to be starting to struggle again? There are two reasons.

The first thing to bear is naturally the sensitive relationship between Studio 11 and Fox TV. Before that, the relationship between Studio 11 and Fox TV was the real intimacy. People can understand that Evan Bell neither wanted to break up the "American Idol" station nor wanted to destroy the cooperative relationship with Fox TV. That was why he kept suppressing the opening of a new singing talent show.

But what about now? First, it was "jailbreak" and then it was Super Bowl. Although the relationship between Studio 11 and Fox TV was not a crack, it was certainly not as harmonious as before, and there was no doubt that it was.

The incident in the screenwriter's strike at the end of 2007 was another important reason. There is actually only one person or thing that really made a profit during the screenwriter's strike: reality show! Because reality show is a program that does not require scripts at all. Coupled with low cost expenditures and high efficiency returns, this has made the reality show flourish in the past three months and won unanimous love from major TV stations.

There is another factor that is strictly not a reason, that is, the first anniversary of Hulu.com. Hulu.com was officially launched on March 1 last year. After a year of development, the situation of Hulu.com has basically stabilized.

Not to mention catching up with youtube, even Google Video cannot surpass it. In terms of global video website share, youtube tops the list with 58 percentage points, and Google Video, which ranks second, is only less than three percentage points. After installing the video upload function on the Facebook page, it also has a share of three percentage points, which can rank fifth. Hulu.com only has less than one percent of the market share. It ranks ninth in this list.

What does this mean? It's simpler. Hulu.com's challenge to youtube's dominance has officially failed. Users' stickiness to youtube far exceeds expectations. Hulu.com has a huge supply of video content, but it has never been able to seize market share from youtube. Not to mention Google Video, even Facebook's video sharing function attracts more traffic than Hulu.com. It can be said that Hulu.com is a complete failure.

However, Hulu.com persisted in the challenge of a year. He was not directly thrown out of the video website market and occupied a place with the huge video content of the opposing alliance. On the occasion of the first anniversary, it was also considered a statistics on Hulu.com's frame. Currently, most of the user traffic of Hulu.com comes from youtube diversion, and search website diversion ranks second, while Hulu.com's users are very small.

In terms of profit, Hulu.com not only failed to make a profit in the first year, but also lost money. Of course, all video websites are currently losing money except youtube. But what is even more miserable is that Hulu.com's top advertising sponsors are gradually losing money. Even with strong connections from opposing alliances, advertising sponsors are still the most practical. They are doing business rather than doing good deeds. As the leading leader in the industry, youtube's attractiveness to advertisers is beyond doubt.

Therefore, on the first anniversary of Hulu.com, people were sighing and wavering, the opposition alliance also occurred. Although the opposition alliance has maintained a good cooperative relationship and hopes that Hulu.com can bring profits, the relationship between the four big bosses has been repeatedly bumped and has no interest to lubricate, so they can only return to dullness. Abc TV took the lead in sending Lisa Canning to find Evan Bell, and Disney didn't know that it was impossible.

The last direct factor is that although the two tests on NBC TV were carried out secretly, the circle has more or less understood their actions. Moreover, NBC TV and Simon Cowell have always been ambiguous. Things that are unclear in the circle are not secrets.

Simon Cowell of "American Idol" has been considering establishing his own business, and I guess the entire TV industry can understand it very well. Simon Cowell is also a judge of the British version of "X Factor". He has been planning to bring "X Factor" to the United States since 2006, but he was rejected by Evan Bell. In addition, Fox TV spent a lot of money to renew his contract with Simon Cowell, which brought "American Idol" to the seventh season of this year. Currently, Simon Cowell, Paula Abadu, and Randy Jackson's contract with "American Idol" will be in 2008, which means the end of the seventh season of "American Idol". This makes this year's situation very complicated.

Based on the various factors before and after, in early March 2008, the craze for singing talent shows seemed to be silently rising again.

Evan Bell naturally knew about these situations, so Sam Reid chose to speak straightforwardly. Instead of quizing, it would be better to open the skylight and say things straight. Anyway, Evan Bell is now a seller's market and has an absolute advantage. In the end, it is estimated that it is just like the "pop idol" that landed in the United States, and the heroes competed for the higher prices.

Moreover, it is 2008, not 2002. At the time, Evan Bale still won a brilliant contract for "American Idol" at a disadvantage, but now Evan Bale has the advantage. If Sam Reid continues to choose to play tricks with Evan Bale and play tug of war, that would be an unwise choice.

After hearing Sam Reed's words, Evan Bell couldn't help laughing, "Why are you always so interested in singing talent shows?"

"Low cost, high return, high attention, simple operation, low loss. Who doesn't want to?" Sam Reed spoke very simply today. It seems that before leaving, he should have had a deep discussion with the senior executives of CBS TV.

Evan Bell pursed her lips and nodded in recognition, "This is true, I don't understand the operation of the TV station, and I didn't expect this." Sam Reed would definitely not buy this polite statement, but he nodded with a smile. Evan Bell continued, "Give me a reason to set a competitor for 'American Idol'."

Evan Bell's words immediately made Sam Reid's eyes lit up! The opportunity is here!

Before that, no matter who came to discuss the new form of singing talent shows, Evan Bell said he was "not interested". Today, Evan Bell finally let go, which naturally made Sam Reed excited, but at the same time he forced himself to calm down, because Evan Bell only let go of CBS TV or ABC TV, it is unknown, so the competition has just begun.

"Evan, the ratings of 'American Idol' have begun to decline this year, you should know?" Sam Reed said. Evan Bell nodded to show his understanding.

The seventh season "American Idol" ended the trend of rising viewers for the past six sessions. The ratings dropped by as much as 25 percentage points compared to last year when the broadcast started this year. Of course, the premiere of Evan Bell last year was supported by the performance of Evan Bell, which is quite special, but the seventh season "American Idol" also dropped by as much as 15 percentage points compared to the first episode of the fifth season, which is not good news.

"Although 'American Idol' is still the ratings overlord, its ratings are second and third places, almost no one can shake its position." Sam Reed didn't need Evan Bell to remind that industry insiders themselves know this. "However, talent shows are different from other types of dramas. There are many reasons why 'American Idol' can achieve such good results, but most importantly, the decline in ratings of talent shows means that it loses its appeal to the audience, or that it is not fresh enough. This is fatal. Unlike other dramas, talent shows can change the disadvantage of the decline in freshness through the efforts of screenwriters. It can only passively use rules to adjust and select contestants to create gimmicks. This is not a long-term solution."

Without scripts, this is the advantage of talent shows, but after "American Idol" entered the seventh season, it became a disadvantage. When "Survivor" and "Fast Movement" were just aired, the ratings were as arrogant as ever, but in the end they returned to mediocrity. Although both programs still survive now, the advantage of these two programs over talent shows is that the location, form and content of their competitions in each season are a change.

"Also, Evan, I think you know better than me that another reason why the 'American Idol' ratings are so strong is that it has no competitors." Sam Reid looked at Evan Bale, but unfortunately he could not see any changes in Evan Bale's face, but he was not discouraged. He just continued, "I think it is indeed time to establish a competitor for 'American Idol'. The interests of 'American Idol' have reached its peak and it is impossible to continue to rise, so new talent shows can become a new source of interests."

This last sentence is the core content of Sam Reed's words.
