023 Special Impressions
This is Natalie Portman's second academic year at Harvard University. Although she recently filmed "Star Wars Prequel 2: The Clones' Attack", she will still return to school as long as she has time, not only for her studies, but also for her college life. At the beginning of school in September, due to the suspension of filming of the movie, Natalie Portman enjoyed a good school life and participated in a back-to-school dance. Although she doesn't like it very much, this is also part of the university. Next week, the movie will be re-entered for busy shooting, and it is estimated that she will not be able to get to school in one or two months, so Natalie Portman also cherishes her last week at school and the first week of formal class.
Today, Natalie Portman went to the Design Academy to have lunch with her roommate. Natalie Portman is a typical person with outstanding abilities. She likes to date people who are similar to her, which is one of the reasons why she chose Harvard. Natalie Portman's three roommates, one once performed on the same stage with the famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma, one published a collection of poems, and the other was from the Design Academy.
The Harvard School of Design is a bit colder than other colleges. The entire School of Design is only a huge classroom. All the architecture departments, environmental art departments, digital design departments, and urban planning departments all teach in this classroom, so the time schedule of the classroom is always full. The entire classroom is like a huge gymnasium, with a little scary open space. Generally speaking, freshmen in the first grade are on the top floor of the classroom steps, and then they are arranged downward in the order of grades. The students in the highest grade are on the bottom floor of the steps, with the purpose of letting freshmen see what the students in the upper grades are doing.
At this time, it was less than ten minutes before the get out of class was over. Natalie Portman stood at the door of the classroom and saw her roommate. She was in the first row, the senior student. At this time, everyone in the classroom was drawing something on the design stage, probably drawing design drawings based on the class content. Looking along the first row, the students were indeed senior students, and their faces were more confident and steady. Occasionally, they stopped writing and thought about it, and then they would continue writing. Compared with the students in the lower grades, they were much more efficient.
Suddenly, Natalie Portman's gaze stopped at the figure in the innermost part of the first row, "He is also from the Department of Architecture?" After thinking about it, Natalie Portman remembered it again, "The last collection directory did include the Francis Lob Design Institute Library."
Natalie Portman saw Gu Luobei, the first meeting in the library, and the second meeting full of laughter at the return-to-school dance. Unexpectedly, the third meeting was not in the class of Professor Muller-Lance of the Department of Psychology, but in this way, it was on such occasions.
The classrooms of the School of Design are naturally different. The sunlight in the past afternoon spreads the entire classroom through the huge glass window, illuminating the boy named Evan Bell, and a shadow casts a shadow on the glass table. The focused look and serious attitude made Natalie Portman a little confused, or curious. What kind of person is this boy, or a man? He is so careless about girls, his disdainful attitude towards himself, his loneliness about the return-to-school dance, and his sincere dedication to his major today. Natalie Portman couldn't help but smile. It is not easy for this man to update his views on him every time he meets.
Ten minutes passed quickly, Natalie Portman's roommate walked out quickly, and the two girls walked side by side to the cafeteria. When she left, Evan Bell was still packing his things. Soon, the figure bathed in the sun disappeared from sight.
"Didn't your classroom sit in the order of grades? Why did I seem to see lower graders in the first row?" Natalie Portman remembered that Evan Bell should be a junior, and he had a student number on his book list, and he was admitted in 1998.
The girl walking beside Natalie Portman thought about it and immediately understood, "Oh, are you talking about Bell? Why, do you know him?"
Natalie Portman nodded happily, "I've seen it twice."
Originally, the girl wanted to ask some gossip, but Natalie Portman admitted it directly, but it seemed that there was nothing, so he didn't dig it out anymore. He said directly, "You know, our department is famous for its difficult admission, learning, and graduation." Harvard Design School, Yale University, MIT, and Rhode Island Design School are called top universities in design in the United States, and it is not a blank name. "But this Evan Bell is an exception. It is also famous in our department. He alarmed our department's boss during the interview and said he liked him very much. After coming in, he was the one who received the most praise from the professor. Although he is only a junior now, he has already started to graduate design. Our department's boss has only one student under his name this year, and there is basically no problem with graduation." Natalie Portman raised his eyebrows. He guessed from that posture just now that he should be a very powerful person, but he was still imagining the above.
"This semester, the big boss of the department asked him to be a teaching assistant and help with basic design courses, but he didn't have time, so he refused." The nature of gossip among girls will never deteriorate at any time. Even the top students at Harvard University are happy with gossip. "He is still a student in the psychology department. I heard that he is choosing a paper topic." Natalie Portman knew that choosing a paper topic does not mean that you can start writing. Before choosing a topic, you have to do countless pre-investment and select a suitable topic. This is a very long and important process. However, starting to select a paper topic in the first semester of junior year means that, as soon as possible, you can start writing a graduation thesis in March next year, at this speed.
"But he is here to take a leave today. I heard something happened, and our department boss criticized it without saying a word. It's so refreshing." The girl's tone was full of envy. "Forget it, there are so many such genius figures in our school every year. Before he became the second Bill Gates, it's not true. To be precise, before he became the second I.M. Pei, the world's top architectural designer, the designer of the Louvre in Paris, a bachelor's degree in architecture from MIT, a master's degree in architecture from Harvard University, and is also one of the legendary figures of Harvard University. "What should I eat at noon? Let's go out to eat. I heard that a new Italian restaurant opened at the intersection, go and try it?"
The two walked and chatted towards the school gate, but there was another exclamation mark in Natalie Portman's heart.
After Gu Luobei, who stayed in the classroom, packed up his things and took leave, he slowly walked towards the cafeteria. He still had to work hard in the past two days. He also had to meet Mueller-Lens, the instructor of his graduation thesis in the Department of Psychology. He planned to listen to Mueller-Lens' social psychology course again this semester and then decide on his graduation thesis topic. But now it seems that he is about to miss classes at the beginning, but fortunately, he has already listened to this course once in the second grade.
When I came to the cafeteria of Harvard University, this building like the Hogwarts School of Magic Academy in "Harry Potter", makes people wonder if the prop group of the movie was built with this cafeteria as a model. Gu Luobei saw it very interesting, but he just didn't know if other people were so interesting after the movie "Harry Potter" was released.
Walking into the cafeteria, it is like being in a magnificent cathedral. The interior is very quiet and bright, and the accessories are extremely luxurious and solemn. Whether it is wooden carvings, oil paintings, window paper, or hanging medieval chandeliers, every part of the cafeteria has an elegant artistic sense.
The canteen at Harvard University is self-service, providing cuisine from all over the world to meet the different tastes of campus students. Gu Luobei chose Chinese cuisine, Kung Pao chicken, wooden beard meat and other dishes, which was also considered a thought of his hometown. Holding the plate and looking for a location, he saw someone raising his hands on a table not far away, waving at him. When he looked closely, it was Jacob Tibo, and wasn't it Guillen Haas and Blues Stewood around him.
Gu Luobei sat down opposite Jacob-Tibo with a plate. Before Gu Luobei had adjusted the chair, Jacob-Tibo couldn't wait to ask, "I heard you are going to take a month off. What's wrong? Is there anything wrong?"
Looking at Jacob Tibo's eyes that kept rolling, Gu Luobei smiled in a silence. It was probably that there was another gossip, otherwise how could they expect their answer so much, "I took a movie, and it took a month to shoot it."
When Jacob Tibo heard something that was not music, his eyes suddenly dimmed a lot. Gillen Haas looked at Jacob Tibo, who was still in the dark, and smiled at Gu Luobei, "Movie? What movie?"
Jacob Tibo also recovered quickly and joked with a smile, "Which international director is it? Next time you meet, you won't become a movie star, right?"
Gu Luobei knew from their eyes that they were concerned about the band, and as for the movie, they were just mentioned by the way, but this is normal. People like them who devote all their energy to one thing always lack some concern for other things.
"If movie stars are so easy to be like, I'm afraid they'll be everywhere on the streets now," Gu Luobei said with a smile, "Don't worry, I'll be concerned about the band." Gu Luobei pointed out the band's concern so directly, and his face was a little hot. "Don't we think about sending our songs to a big company before, so let's try it. This week we will record a master tape ourselves and then send them to the record company one by one."
When everyone heard Gu Luobei's words, they immediately threw their shyness aside, and their eyes began to flash again. Even Bruce Stewood looked over to Gu Luobei. Seeing that Jacob Tibo seemed to have some problems, Gu Luobei said directly, "We will practice well in the past two days, and make an appointment for a recording studio on Friday, one hour." These words calmed down the hearts of the other three members. Bruce Stewood couldn't help but hold his right fist and danced, expressing his excitement.
The second update today. Sorry, something happened today, it was too late to update, I am really sorry.
