The Jade Emperor in Taoism

1. Taoism about the origin of the Jade Emperor. A long time ago, there was a country called Guangyan Miaole Kingdom, the king was called Jingde, and the queen was called Baoyueguang. She was old and had no son yet. So she prayed to the mud statue of Yuanshi Tianzun every day for more than half a year, and never stopped. His piety finally moved Yuanshi. One night, Queen Baoyueguang suddenly had a dream, dreaming that she was visiting the back garden of the palace, suddenly there was a bright light in the sky, with thousands of auspicious colors, and the Taishang Taoist Lord sat there.

A five-colored dragon cart descended from the sky. He was holding a baby with a brilliant body in his arms. He came to her side under the surrounds of countless immortals. The queen understood the purpose of the Supreme Taoist Lord, and hurriedly knelt down and kowtowed to thank him. When she woke up the next morning, she was pregnant. After only a few years of growth, the child went to Puming Xiuyan Mountain to practice Taoism, and soon as he became an immortal. After practicing for another 3,200 kalpas, he finally became a golden immortal, called "Qingjing Natural King Tathagata". After hundreds of kalpas of hard work, he officially became the Jade Emperor.

2. Taoism believes that the Jade Emperor is the king of all gods, with a high status among the Taoist divine ranks and the greatest divine power. The Taoism says that he lives in the Miluo Heaven Palace, the wonderful appearance is solemn, the Dharma body is supreme, and he rules the heavens. He is the supreme god of the heavens and the emperor of the ten thousand heavens. In short, Taoism believes that the Jade Emperor is in charge of all the yin and yang, misfortune and fortune of the three realms (heaven, underground, space), ten directions (four directions, four dimensions, upper and lower), four births (womb birth, egg birth, dampness birth, transformation), and the six realms (heaven, human, demon, hell, animals, hungry ghosts).
