.The terrifying existence (2)
The Medellin Cartel drug cartel operated by Escobar is the largest drug cartel in Colombia. Located in the northern part of Colombia, located in the western foothills of the Cordillera Mountains, Medellin was founded by the Spanish in 1616. It is 1,600 meters above sea level and has an average annual temperature of 21-22 degrees. In recent years, the population has been increasing and is now the second largest city in Colombia with a population of 2 million. Medellin has a pleasant climate, rich in orchids, and a developed textile industry, and is sold all over the world. The most famous one is that it is a huge drug criminal group, which has become a large distribution center for cocaine in recent years, and the rampant terrorist activities
Turning this "spring city" into a battlefield again From President Bedankur's administration to President Barco's administration, Colombia's violence has emerged one after another, and it is no exaggeration to say that blood has sprinkled all over the streets and alleys of Medellin. In 1988, 82 assassinations occurred in Colombia, killing more than 400 people, most of them farmers, and the 98 (% of the number) murderers are still at large. From August 1989 to June 1990, drug trafficking groups carried out a total of 2,595 terrorist attacks, killing more than 1,500 people. During President Barco's administration, there were 25 people.
Journalists and more than 1,050 members of the left-wing patriotic alliance were killed, and about 30,000 people died in violence, bringing the number of victims of street violence in Medellin to the highest level in history. In 1990, nearly 4,000 victims were killed. In the first half of 1990 alone, assassinations in Colombia reached 11,887. Former Director of the US Drug Control Agency William Ute made the following comment on the Medellin drug cartel: "They are the most vicious, dangerous, cruel, bold, but also the richest criminal organization in the world ever. Compared with this group, the American mafia is like a student in elementary school, and the mountains of Japan
The oral group is like a choir in a church. What they do is endangering the health and happiness of people all over the world." The Medellin Cartel drug cartel is well-organized and proficient in the underworld. It once had 250 leaders of all sizes, more than 3,500 killers, and more than 25,000 drug dealers. The core members of the group are five big drug lords known as the "Five Tiger Generals": the number one drug king Pablo Escobar Govilla; the second drug lord Jorge Ochoa; the veteran of the Ochoa family Favio Ochoa; the drug king Reed; Carlos Ledel, who is known as the "godfather of the Colombian mafia".
For the government's investigation and crackdown, the Medellin Cartel headed by Escobar dealt with both bribery and assassination. For this reason, he specially set up departments in the group for bribery, guards and assassination, and schools for training killers. In order to conduct drug trafficking more smoothly and effectively evade legal sanctions, Escobar spared no expense to bribe government officials, judges and senior military officials in order to make a big splash and become the protective umbrella and supporter of the Medellin Cartel drug trafficking group. In the autumn of 1983, Attorney General Lara ordered the arrest of "extradables", and Escobar and George Louis fled to Panama to take refuge. There they met with former Colombian President Alfonso Lo who came to meet secretly on behalf of the government.
Pace, Mitchell Alfonso and his party did not notify the U.S. authorities of the hiding place of these fugitive criminals, but they negotiated to reach a certain deal. Senior officials bribed by Escobar involved various industries and departments, senators, judges, lawyers, and military and police intelligence personnel. For example, the police found a list of bribes from Jorge Ochoa, one of the "Five Tiger Generals" of the Medellin Cartel Group. The bribes included government officials, lawyers, police officers and university presidents. The amount of bribes in 1985 and 1986 was $1.5 million, and the payment was in Cartagena and Medellin. The conditions were: reduce the fines for drug traffickers, prevent extradition to the United States, and release the traffickers from being released from crimes.
Drugs. The "cocaine dollar" has produced a huge effect. The only weapon in Colombia's struggle with drug groups - the police and the army, is actually useless due to bribery. None of them wants to interfere with the activities of drug dealers. "The parliament is full of politicians who are elected by drug stolen money, and they remain silent on the drug issue. The prominent figures of the two major parties, the traditional Liberal and Conservative Party, are reportedly involved in drug monopoly groups. Even the Roman Catholic Church was accepting charitable donations made by these drug tycoons to gain social status until three years ago, so they naturally had no say in drug issues." Even the "left" guerrillas in Colombia are also asking whether they should accept drug giants.
The debate was held. In the end, it seemed that the faction that agreed to accept the acceptance had the upper hand. The threat of violence faced by the press was increasing day by day. Hernando Santos, the president of the Times, Colombia's largest newspaper, lamented: "This is the first time in my life that I had to ride a bulletproof car, but I know it may not help." In order to ensure the safety of the organization, the Escobar Group purchased a large number of advanced weapons and equipment from abroad and engaged in drug smuggling and escort. In order to fight against the encircled government forces, the Escobar Group also recruited a large number of mercenaries from Israel, South Africa, France, Britain and the United States with high salaries to form a strong armed group. Faced with this armed group, even the government forces were afraid of it.
In order to evade legal sanctions, Escobar bribed several government officials, judges and politicians for huge sums of money. At the same time, he was also the mastermind behind the assassination of a presidential candidate.
While the U.S. and Colombian governments regard Escobar as a thorn in their side, the people of Medellin regard him as a hero. Escobar loves sports, pays to build baseball stadiums for the city, and sponsors multiple teams. He also uses money and gifts to help the poor, like a great philanthropist, so many people are willing to help Escobar escape pursuit.
After being arrested, Escobar was imprisoned in a private prison. Later, he was afraid of being extradited to the United States for trial, so he successfully escaped from prison on July 22, 1992.
In 1992, the Colombian police set up a special operation team to track, arrest, or kill Escobar.
On December 2, 1993, Escobar was finally shot dead by the military, and the terrifying era finally passed.
However, is the truth of the matter really?
If it were someone else, he might have questioned the life and death of this biggest drug leader like Leng Guohao, but Xiang Yufeng would not. The reason is that he had seen Escobar himself more than once when he was in Eastern Europe.
Xiang Yufeng looked at Leng Guohao who was repeating the impossible words over and over again, and then he knew that there was definitely a story between the Chinese mayor of New York City and the drug leader that outsiders did not know.
"Escobar is indeed alive." Xiang Yufeng said softly, but pulled Leng Guohao back to reality. Leng Guohao looked at Xiang Yufeng and suddenly said like crazy, "How do you know, why do you know, who you are, and why do I believe your words?"
