Chapter 52 The end of the war opens

At that time, Marshal Walter, Norman, was stunned when he heard the Mayan envoy say such words. What is this? I want to sleep with a pillow? The governor of Central America has now developed a bottleneck. After all, the banner he set out to be peaceful development and self-protection in troubled times. Such a banner did give him great help in the early days, attracting a large number of people. But now it has become a burden for him to not start a war. If there is no right reason to start a war, then such a move to go back on his word will definitely seriously damage his hard-won reputation.

I don’t know whether it is luck or misfortune. Because Marshal Walter’s ability is sufficient, Norman’s legal system and technological advantages are also obvious. This makes the Aztecs who live in the governor’s jurisdiction feel very satisfied. Therefore, they lose interest in fighting. This is indeed conducive to the rule of the Normans. However, accordingly, the Aztec refugees who are small and wealthy will not easily go to the battlefield to fight to death. Without these cannon fodder, the disadvantage of insufficient number of Norman troops is once again highlighted.

It was such a situation that Walter was worried that there was no excuse to start the war. The largest force adjacent to the governor's jurisdiction, the Mayan Kingdom, sent such a "big gift". This made me think about how to create trouble and use it as an excuse to start a war. But I didn't expect that the excuse would come to my door today!

Thinking of this, Marshal Walter grinned and almost laughed out loud. He looked at the Aztec nobles around him. Those who wrote allies read as cannon fodder. He saw anger and hesitation in their faces. Anger was hesitant because of the arrogant words and deeds of the Mayan messengers, as well as the martial spirit of the Aztecs in their hearts, because of fear of the Mayan power, and fear that war would affect their fair lives now.

Marshal Walter saw all this, including the little hesitation and fear in the Mayan messenger's eyes.

The other party is actually not as confident as he showed. Now the strength of the Mayan Kingdom is not enough to find an opponent for himself while attacking the Aztec Empire. The reason why he treats the Normans like this is probably because he wants to test the Normans' attitude.

Marshal Walter saw through the Mayans' psychology. The bomb was the most terrifying thing before it exploded. The Mayans wanted to force themselves to express their attitude and prepare early to prevent the Normans from stabbing them in the back when they were fighting against the Aztecs.

Marshal Walter, who had figured out these, sneered in his heart and said to himself: "How do you barbarians know how powerful I am in the Great Norman Empire? But he just occupied half of the Aztec country and was so arrogant. This time, the Marshal lets you know what you know, there is someone outside of human beings and there is a heaven outside of heaven!"

After making up his mind, Marshal Walter slapped the table suddenly. His strength, coupled with the steel wire gloves on his hand, actually slapped the solid and thick wooden table in half from the middle with a "snap". Seeing the Marshal's amazing move, the seat was shocked. Then he saw Marshal Walter pull out the saber given by Emperor Egil after he shoveled North Germany, and a cold light flashed on the messenger's neck.

"Marcedes-Master came from the Norman Empire. He was ordered by the Emperor Egierskadragrimusson. He had only one loyal person in his life. What are you, Mayan barbarians? How dare you make Marshal submit?!"

Marshal Walter learned fluent Aztec language in the Aztec Empire for nearly a year. During this period, he shouted so hard that his words were correct. The Aztec nobles around him changed color after hearing this. Some shouted loudly. Some wanted to persuade him, but they had no way to speak. However, no matter what he said, Marshal Walter seemed to have never heard of it. He just stared at the Mayan messenger with his eyes wide open. The messenger was a temple priest who was used to being pampered. How could he withstand such fright? Seeing Marshal Walter's murderous aura soared into the sky, the sword in his hand shone coldly. He fell to the ground in fright and couldn't help but pee his pants.

The man was so scared that he was incontinent. All the Aztec nobles around him showed contempt. Marshal Walter snorted and put his knife back into the sheath. He ordered the left and right to pull the messenger out. At the same time, he said loudly to him: "Go back and tell your master. If he dares to come, Marshal will chop off his head!"

In this way, Marshal Walter drove away the Mayan envoy. Then he discussed with his Aztec allies. He did not organize the defense as some people imagined. Instead, he decided to take the initiative to attack. Although he said verbally: "Observation is the best defense!" This sounds very reasonable, but in fact, the reason for the improper meaning is that if you don't attack, you will not be able to obtain more territory.

That's it.

Before the Mayans had time to prepare for defense, the main force was fighting against the Aztecs on the front line and preparing to advance to Tenochitiran, they were attacked by the Normans. The Norman army, with excellent siege skills, quickly broke through several Mayan cities with slack defense and expanded their territory to the entire Yucatan Peninsula.

In just a few dozen days, the marshal occupied three times more territory than the previous six months. This made the Aztec nobles who came with him admired them very much. The marshal also followed the Aztec habits in the distribution of spoils and handling prisoners of war. This made the Aztecs even more excited. The souls of the warriors, who were originally gradually extinguished because of a stable life, began to burn again under the driving force of huge interests!

In just one month, Marshal Walter's army expanded to nearly 100,000 people! Including 80,000 Aztec auxiliary troops, as well as Aztec civilian soldiers, the vassal and noble armed forces joined him. In many cases, the Marshal could win without even using his precious Norman army.

It was in this short month that Marshal Walter occupied most of the Mayan territory and defeated more than a dozen Mayan troops who dared to fight him. His combat effectiveness, courage and enthusiasm made the entire Central America look at him.

In the following war, Marshal Walter was waiting for his work and completely defeated the intimidating Mayans who retreated from the northern front to regain their territory. When facing the Mayan army that had expanded to 80,000 people, Marshal Walter used such a tactic and placed the Aztec indigenous troops in front. The Aztec tribe he trained was considered the backbone and fought head-on with the Mayans”… (To be continued.!~!
