36 The Lost Gryphon

Anka accepted the commission and came to a yard where griffins were rented. The administrator was anxiously pacing in the middle of the yard.

After seeing Anka coming over, he said excitedly: "Great, I didn't expect adventurers to come to help so soon."

Anka asked: "Excuse me, how much can you pay?"

The administrator hesitated for a while and then said: "If you can find the lost griffon cub, I will definitely give you less."

Anka asked: "How about giving me a deposit?"

After discussing back and forth, Anka received a deposit of one silver, and then the administrator said: "I hope you can find them before sunset, because if the lord knows about this, I will definitely be finished."

Anka nodded and asked, "Do you know where they were lost?"

The administrator said: "It was an apprentice who ran away while taking them to the back mountain for training. The apprentice was even knocked unconscious."

Later, when Anka returned to his residence to pack his equipment, he saw soldiers holding bags at the door.

The soldier threw ten silver coins directly to Anka and said: "Okay, I got the money back."

After saying that, the soldier turned around and left, and Alan Xi walked out from behind the door and asked, "Are we leaving now?"

Anka said: "Oh, in such a hurry, you must be in cahoots with that thief. Go chase him and see where they are hiding. I will deal with it when I come back."

Ailan Xi nodded and jumped to the top of the building and started walking quickly across it.

When Anka came to the place where the administrator said the griffon was lost, he discovered that there were actually a large number of dense plants growing around it that were the same color as the surrounding rocks, and there were even palm-sized rabbit-like animals jumping in the grass.

"It seems that this is where griffon cubs usually eat."

As he spoke, Anka followed a small animal that was covered in blood and trembling and found a bunch of yellow hair hanging on a branch.

Anka brought the hair close to him and smelled it. He found that the hair had a very strong smell, which was the same as the smell of the griffin Anka met at the lord's house.

Afterwards, Anka followed the faint smell to the front of a cave. Anka walked in and found that there were a lot of traces of human habitation inside.

Scattered tableware, extinguished bonfire Anka put his hand on the embers and said: "There is still temperature. Have I been detected?"

After that, Anka tried hard to smell the smell around him but still couldn't smell the smell of other humans.

Anka sighed and walked out of the cave and walked back. But just half a minute later Anka turned around and jumped up and threw the wooden dart he carried into the cave.

"ah!"

A child covered in dust howled loudly after being hit in the palm by Anka's dart, and when he saw Anka approaching, he hid behind a stone in fear.

Anka approached him, pulled out the dart and poured a life potion on the wound.

The wound quickly healed at a speed visible to the naked eye. The young man looked at his palm and then at Anka and asked: "Are you here to take me back too?"

Anka shook his head and said, "I'm just here to find the gryphon cub."

After hearing Anka's purpose, the boy curled up and kicked Anka while he wasn't paying attention.

Anka grabbed his foot almost the moment he was kicked, and then there were two clicks. Anka accidentally knocked the boy unconscious.

Anka sighed and said: "It seems that I will have to tighten my strength in the future."

Anka then laid the boy down outside and after cleaning, simply fixed his feet with two wooden boards.

When the boy woke up, Anka was sitting opposite him and looking at him. Anka tried his best to face him with a kind smile.

Anka calmed down his emotions and asked: "You know where those gryphon cubs are, right?"

The young man pursed his lips and nodded in response.

Anka asked: "Can I take them back?"

The young man shook his head to express his refusal.

Anka was a little confused and asked: "Why?"

The young man raised his head and looked at Anka with clear eyes and said: "I don't want them to get injured due to training, and I don't want them to be locked in a cage. I think the wild is their destination."

Anka asked nervously: "Did you let them go?"

The young man shook his head and responded.

Afterwards, the boy took Anka to a wooden house. Anka discovered that the wooden house with complete facilities in front of him was definitely not something that the boy in front of him could build alone.

Although Anka didn't smell the scent of other humans, he was still worried about the situation just now and drew his weapon.

The moment the boy opened the door, five griffin cubs swung their tails and fell on him. Anka looked inside and found a lackluster griffon cub lying on the mat.

When Anka and the boy stepped forward to check, the griffon cub even spit out a mouthful of blood. The other griffon cubs stepped forward to lick the fallen griffon cub with concern, and the boy brought a bowl of broth to it.

In front of me, no matter how I fed it, it couldn't eat and could only look at the two of them with its tongue.

The young man sobbed: "Why hasn't it gotten better?"

Anka asked: "When did it become like this?"

The boy sobbed and said, "It was when I brought it back."

Anka instantly rolled his eyes and said: "What about getting parasites or even infectious diseases? If not treated in time, it is likely to be transmitted to other griffon cubs, and if not treated in time, it is likely to die."

After hearing this, the young man asked sadly: "Is it true?"

Anka nodded and responded: "Of course, I used to be an animal trainer."

The young man picked up the sick griffon cub and thought for a while before saying, "I'll go back with you, but I must see it get better, otherwise I will take it back."

The camp manager who rented out the gryphon was feeling desperate as the sun gradually set.

The administrator said in a desperate tone: "It's over. If the griffin cub can't find me, it will definitely be killed by the lord who will come to check later."

When he saw the lord's team slowly walking in from the gate, the administrator collapsed to the ground in despair.

In almost a few minutes, the lord arrived in front of the administrator. The administrator stood up and said tremblingly: "Welcome, Lord."

The lord squinted his eyes and silently counted the griffins in the cage and said, "Where are the cubs?"

The administrator was trembling with cold sweat and said: "The apprentice took me to hunt. Maybe it was difficult to catch the prey today and the time was a little slow."

The lord turned around and saw the injured apprentice and asked: "What? Did you accept the new apprentice without my consent?"

The administrator was covered in cold sweat and panting heavily, and was speechless for a moment. When he saw the halberd-wielding guards approaching gradually, he closed his eyes as if resigned to his fate.

"Lord?"

The lord followed the sound and found that it was Anka and a young man walking in from the door holding a griffon cub.

The administrator instantly stabilized and collapsed on the ground.

The lord stepped forward and picked up the griffin cubs and hugged them affectionately. After seeing the young man, he calmly said: "Why are my sons back so soon?"

Then he turned around and asked the somewhat shocked Anka: "Did you bring it back? Thank you very much."

The young man then took out the sick griffon cub with his hands and said, "Please save it."

After checking, the lord said: "It's just a cold."

Hearing this, the young man also relaxed.

The lord turned around and asked Anka: "Why did you accept the commission? Aren't you in a hurry?"

Ankh responded: "My money was stolen, so I'm going to make enough money so I can rent a gryphon."

The lord was a little angry when he heard that Anka's money had been stolen, but he quickly calmed down and said: "I will definitely investigate it strictly. If such a thing happens in my territory, it is simply embarrassing for me."

Anka responded: "I have sent my flying dragon to chase his accomplices."

Soon Anka looked up and saw a flash of silver in the sky and shouted: "She's back."

After that, Ailanxi quickly fell down and threw the two naked soldiers he caught on the ground. Then he handed the bag containing coins and business tickets to Anka and rubbed his head against Anka.

Ailanxi said sadly: "Sorry, I only recovered half of it, and they lost the rest in a bet."

The lord asked Ailanxi: "Where did you catch them?"

Alansi said: "I met them in a brothel in the afternoon. According to them, they had just lost money in gambling."

The lord's face became even more ugly and he whispered gloomily to his guards.

The lord suddenly turned to Anka and said, "This should be enough!"

Anka took a bag full of silver coins handed over by the lord and said, "It seems, there are a lot."

The lord said: "It doesn't matter, just consider it as compensation for you."

"Take them to the square and let all the other defenders pass."

As the order was given, the two men were lifted and tied to two pillars in the middle of the square.

The soldiers in the audience looked up in confusion and fear.

The lord walked to the stage and said: "You are knights loyal to me. I hope you can abide by our agreement. These two people actually stole my guests' things and entered places like casinos as my soldiers. I

I hope you will think of these two people when you do something wrong in the future."

After the lord finished speaking, he ordered his halberd-wielding guards to chop the two of them in half. Anka covered Ailanxi's curious eyes.

The people in the audience were even more frightened and made noisy noises.

The lord came to the stage and shouted: "Quiet!"

For a moment, the audience fell into a long silence, and many soldiers looked timidly towards the stage.

The lord said: "In order to avoid this situation happening again in the future, I have decided that the defenders here need to accept my soldiers as guidance in the future. Now the captains of each detachment will come out."

The five burly captains took off their armor and stood in front of the lord. The lord said: "You cannot use weapons and armor for the time being. From now on, you will have to patrol as ordinary soldiers for a month."

Afterwards, the lord walked up to Anka in the audience and said, "If you want to leave, the weather will be best at noon tomorrow."

After saying that, he handed Anka two tickets for renting the gryphon. Anka took it and said: "Thank you very much, but where are these tickets going? I won't be taken further and further away!"

The lord smiled and said: "The city you mentioned is the second stop on the journey. It only takes about ten minutes to arrive."
