Chapter 8 Eight Buzzing Tavern(1/2)

Chapter 8 8. Buzz Tavern

Wooden tables and chairs were placed randomly, and the entire first floor of the hotel looked like a chaotic gathering place, filled with all kinds of people.

People were chatting in the hotel, drinking imperial beer, and the bar was full of people. People were always complaining about the recent instability in the north of the empire, the unsmooth business conditions, etc.

Owner Philda Graetz and his wife Jolly run the Buzz Inn.

Philda is a Southern Rick leader with a sober attitude and shrewd judgment. He is responsible for handling business transactions. It is rare to see Philda without frowning. In comparison, Qiaoli is just as her name suggests.

She always has a smile on her face, and her loud laughter echoes throughout the hotel - she is responsible for managing the bar and dealing with customers, and her harsh Nordic accent can always be the source of joy for many passing travelers.

In the back kitchen, which was separated by a curtain, two chefs were busy, the fire was burning brightly in the fireplace, and pot after pot of thick broth was brought from the back kitchen into the hall.

In the center of the hall, the roasted whole lamb on the bonfire grill was steaming. The aroma of the meat was constantly wafting inside the hotel. The bard who always stayed in the hotel was playing the balalaika in his hand. The crisp and cheerful rhythm infected everyone, and the faces of the maids were also filled with excitement.

Glowing a drunken red.

No one would refuse a hearty relaxation. In the middle of the hotel, a few people were gathered around a bonfire, dancing a unique northern tap dance to the sound of the piano. Drinking travelers on the tables around them kept smiling on their faces, raising their glasses and shouting for the dancers.

Cheers.

Lairon saw an empty table in the corner of the hall, walked over calmly, and put down the package behind him.

Soon a maid came to him. The scantily clad maid with a hot figure glanced at Lailan's military uniform and didn't care. There was never a shortage of soldiers visiting the Humming Hotel. Some guests saw that Captain Creel would occasionally appear in the hotel.

Private area, drinking alone.

"At my service~ Warrior," the maid said delicately with a smile, bending down her slender waist and deliberately exposing her collar.

Lailan just glanced at it and then looked away. He put his hands on the table and smiled at the maid: "I need a fourth-class room and a dinner."

Seeing that Lailan's eyes were not lingering at all, the maid immediately became interested in the old soldier in the old uniform in front of her. She handed over a parchment menu and asked: "Are you the only one? We don't have many empty rooms.

"

In the past, when she did this, some customers seemed to lose their souls and would give more than a dozen copper coins as tips.

"It's just me." Lailan ordered two pieces of black bread, a large glass of rye beer and a portion of broth. Then he took out two silver coins from his pocket and handed them to the maid. "These should be enough to pay for the rest.

Please consider it as your tip, beautiful lady."

"Oh~ thank you." The maid smiled charmingly at Lailan. After excluding the hotel and dinner expenses, at least one silver coin was left. Such a good thing does not happen often.

As soon as she turned around, the corners of her mouth turned frivolous.

Haha, another lustful guy.

Lailan didn't know what the maid thought of him, so he opened the package and took out the letter, keeping it close to his body.

He has seen a lot and is very knowledgeable. If he can't resist this temptation, it can only be said that he has not seen enough.

Only young and energetic boys would have such impulses, and Lailan used to have a mind of over thirty years old, and had experienced everything that needed to be experienced, so he was not so hungry for this.

The reason why he gave a large tip was to cover up others' eyes. From the moment he entered the hotel, Lailan noticed that someone was staring at him.

No one would believe that a hot-blooded imperial soldier would not react at all when faced with a scantily clad woman. Either he hid it well or he was not a man.

And spending too much money makes Lairon look like a stupid young man who doesn't know what to do.

Sure enough, the gaze that observed him disappeared.

Soon, the maid first brought a wooden sign to Lailan, which was a voucher for staying in the hotel. The room number was engraved on it. She turned to the kitchen to get dinner for Lailan, handed the tableware and left.

The black bread was freshly baked, still warm, and soft in texture. Lailan tore two pieces of black bread into pieces and soaked one piece in a large bowl of broth.

To his right were a few guys dressed like adventurers, and they were loudly discussing the war that took place in the northern Nordland this spring.

Transportation between towns in the medieval world was inconvenient, and the transmission of information was also very difficult. The people at the bottom were full of curiosity about external things. An adventurer noticed that there were people around him who pricked up their ears to listen to what they were saying.

He couldn't help shouting: "The guys in front of me peed their pants when they saw such a big war mammoth!"

"Isn't it? When the giant beast raised by the Yankees charges up, it will kill you!"

"The Yankee longship was at least twice as big as Berg Castle!"

Others around the table echoed.

Lelan listened to what the adventurers discussed loudly and ate his dinner in silence.

I am very clear about what happened at this point in time. In the spring of 2502 in the Imperial Calendar, Norscan raiders numbering far more than 20,000 invaded the Nord Territory and the Oster Territory in the north of the empire. The war situation was eroded, and until now the Nord Territory

The country roads are still full of Norscan raiders.

Judging from the losses at the end of the war, the empire suffered a disastrous defeat and the Norscans gained blood. It was not until a year later that the emperor led his army north to support the Nordic lands and completely drove away the invading Norscan raiders.

Several adventurers stopped discussing this topic, and Lailan noticed that on the table on the other side of the hotel, several Norscan mercenaries raised their heads and looked at them, staring at them fiercely.

The adventurer continued to stare at the hot maids wandering among the crowd, chatting about the same topics.

Just as some Imperial people believe in cults, not all Norscans believe in the Chaos God. There are always some exceptions, but they only account for a small proportion.

The imperial emperor "Savior" Ludwig 200 years ago was extremely tolerant towards the naturalized Norscans.

They are often seen along the northern coast of the empire. The reason why these Norscans "turned away" from the Chaos Gods is very simple. Most of them think that the four evil gods are "silly".

After finishing dinner, Lailan curled his lips and was about to pick up the package and go upstairs.

But he found Qiao Li, the proprietress of the Hum Hotel, walking towards him with a glass of wine and a yellow and green long dress swaying. The proprietress may be over 40 years old, but overall she is in good health.

She smiled and said: "Brave soldier, would you like a glass of newly brewed mead? The taste is mellow and sweet, and I guarantee you will be satisfied."

As he spoke, he passed the dinner plate in front of Lailan.

"I'm afraid I don't have the extra money to pay for this cup of mead. Let's ask the other guests. There will definitely be drinkers who want to taste it." Lailan stood up, slung the package over his shoulder, stretched out his hand and politely declined.

The landlady's smile deepened a little, and she continued: "Oh~ you are a distinguished second-class guest, you can taste this glass of wine for free."

"Second-class guest?"

Lailan hesitated for a moment, then looked at a maid in the crowd and understood something. The latter had just poured the guests drinks, noticed Lailan's gaze, stood up straight, and smiled charmingly at him from a distance.

"What? Didn't your guest book a second-class room?" Qiao Li, the landlady's smile, asked without changing her smile.

"Oh, I remembered it wrong." Lailan looked away and took the glass of mead on the dinner plate. The amber liquid swayed in the firelight of the fireplace, "This is the second-class room. May Ulric bless you.

Kind lady."

The proprietress Qiao Li smiled brightly and said, "You are the first person to call me madam. You are so sweet. I wish you a pleasant stay at our hotel, distinguished guest." She turned and left.

"I have a question for you, ma'am." Lalan stopped Qiao Li.

"Yes, please tell me everything you know."

"Businessman Yatru Ofran, does Madam know about him?"

The lady boss in front of her was silent for a while, and then asked with some vigilance: "What are you doing with Ofron?"

"Someone asked me to deliver a letter to him. I need to hand it to him personally." Lailan raised his eyebrows and blinked, pretending to know nothing.

Qiao Li looked Lailan up and down, looked at the military uniform on his body with complicated eyes, and suddenly asked: "Are you a soldier from the Dracovald Forest garrison outpost to the west? Captain Tokar can't be your commander, right?"

"Yeah" Lailan said "with a confused face", as if he was struggling with whether to say it or not.

"I understand." The proprietress Qiao Li smiled, paused, and said in a casual tone: "Young soldier, I advise you to give up this mission and go back early, otherwise, you will regret coming here."

"Ofron is not as kind as me. Believe me, you don't want to get to know him."

After hearing what the landlady said, Lailan lowered his head and said in frustration, "But I have to send this letter, otherwise the chief will deduct all my money for the next half year."

"After staying here comfortably for a night, leave Bray Town as soon as possible tomorrow morning. Life is much more important than money in the second half of the year, young soldier." Qiao Li didn't want to say anything more, twisted her waist and left.

Lailan narrowed his eyes out of habit and quickly weighed the pros and cons in his mind.

There are both black and white guests coming and going at Humming Hotel, and things big and small happen from time to time. It stands to reason that the landlady cannot be so afraid of a businessman.

Unless the latter has great wealth and power, his influence alone is enough to intimidate others.

"Ofron, I really want to pay him a visit." Lailan rubbed his chin and had a plan in mind.

September 17, 2052 in the imperial calendar.

"Good morning, distinguished guest, your breakfast is ready, do you need it delivered?" There was a soft knock on the door. Only guests who have booked second-class rooms can enjoy the meal delivery service.

The early morning sunlight shines through the sunny window and shines on the man on the velvet bed. His face has been cut with a knife and axe, and he looks full of heroism. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes.

On the low cabinet beside the bed were his packages and a wooden wine glass.

I have to say that the mead in the Hum Hotel tastes really good. The amber liquid is sweet and has a malty aroma, and it is good for sleep. This is the most comfortable sleep Lelan has ever had in the medieval world.

However, the sound insulation effect of the room was indeed not very good. In the middle of the night, a sound of men panting and women screaming came from the next room, which slightly affected Lailan.

"Thank you for your hard work, please bring it in." Lailan stretched out comfortably, then lifted up the quilt and quickly put on his clothes.

Wearing a soldier's uniform in Bray Town was too conspicuous. The blue and white were incompatible with the main colors of the entire town, so he simply changed into casual clothes made of cotton and linen.

The door of the room opened, and a hotel waiter stepped into the room rashly carrying a dinner plate. He almost fell, but luckily the dinner plate didn't tip over.

After placing the prepared breakfast on the wooden table in the room, the hotel clerk bowed slightly and was about to leave when Lailan asked: "What time is it now?"

"Um, about half past six, guest."

"Six-thirty" Lailan said thoughtfully and asked the hotel clerk: "Is the pastor of Sigma Church in Bray Town still the same old Zeis?"

"It's still him. Our boss said that guy has no connections and will only be able to serve as the pastor of a small church in this area." After the hotel clerk finished speaking, he leaned over and closed the door.
