Chapter 16 The Corner
Song Qitang could barely stand still and glanced up at the hand with distinct joints.
In the chaotic night, the young man's handsome and young face stood out little by little, with an unruly curve at the corner of his mouth.
"Sui An, why are you here?"
She glanced at his suitcase, and her eyes suddenly turned into small ripples, "This year's New Year's Eve is earlier than in previous years. I almost forgot about your winter vacation."
Sui An met Song Qitang's gaze with a smile, and took the rice oil from her hand freely.
"My sister will go home tomorrow morning. How is Aunt Ruan? If you need help, please don't be polite."
"Auntie has just been hospitalized, so Yaoyao has to ask Aunt Huang to take care of her for a while." Song Qitang followed Sui An to the alley, "Sui Ning spends too much time driving, and Aunt Huang worries about her every day."
"Her temper..." Sui An sighed helplessly, "Anyway, my mother won't worry if she doesn't get married early. Anyway, I'm back. Don't move heavy things in the future. Let me know what you want to buy."
He raised his head to look at the fluttering sky, and pulled Song Qitang for a few steps quickly, "Be careful of slippery roads on snowy days. Has Yaoyao grown taller again?"
"One or two centimeters," mentioning Yaoyao, touching tenderness slowly spread to the corners of Song Qitang's brows and eyes, like jade, "Last week, you asked me when brother An would be back."
Sui An's smile became even brighter, "I brought you specialties from the capital."
The sound of the two people's speculative conversation gradually disappeared at the entrance of the alley.
A commercial vehicle was quietly parked around the corner.
The dark night fell, the north wind howled, and the snow particles tinkled on the roof of the car.
"Mr. Jiang?" The driver turned sideways and looked inquiringly at the man whose silhouette was half hidden in the shadows.
Green and white smoke floated in the carriage, surrounding Jiang Yanxing in layers.
He leaned back in his chair, twitching the corners of his lips indifferently, pressing out the car window with his cigarette butt, "Go back to the hotel."
——
There has been frequent cold air in the north recently.
There was no heating at home, and before five o'clock in the morning, the strong chill forced Song Qitang to open his eyes.
Even if I change my pampered habit, I still can't overcome my fear of cold.
Her feet were numb from the cold, so she wrapped the quilt tightly, put one hand into her hair, and stared at the floor in a daze.
The desk lamp stayed on all night.
I used to be bothered by having to turn on the light while sleeping, but then I was imprisoned there for five years and couldn't sleep without light.
Whether it's losing the rat on your body or being beaten and humiliated, in the dark night, it's all so despairing.
Song Qitang closed his eyes, forced his thoughts away, and flipped through the bookcase to buffer his emotions.
The album suddenly fell off the bed, and the beautiful business card contained in the loose leaf leaked out.
When his eyes touched the gold-painted font, Song Qitang's eyelashes fluttered, and a flickering light danced in his eyes.
A bold idea burst into her mind, she pursed her lips, and her chest gradually tore into a hell of ice and fire.
——
In the afternoon, when Sui Ning came over, Song Qitang was washing dishes.
Hearing Yaoyao's excited shouts, she put down her bowl and went out, bumping into a smiling Sui Ning.
They haven't seen each other for more than a month, but the other person is full of energy, and his short hair that reaches his ears is dyed grandma gray.
Yaoyao hugged the teddy bear and said, "Tangtang, Sister Ning gave me a gift, and yours too!"
Song Qitang glanced at the living room. The coffee table was full of large and small gift boxes, "Remember Sister Xie Ning."
"Little Haitang, did you miss me?" Sui Ning hugged her, "I was too tired, so I came to your house after catching up on my sleep."
"If you buy a lot of gifts every time, your children will be spoiled."
"I just love and pamper you, who has any objections?"
Song Qitang was accustomed to Sui Ning's slippery tunes. They came out at about the same time, so their friendship was naturally deep.
"Your future husband." She pursed her lips and smiled, "I didn't wash my hands, so you pour the water yourself."
Sui Ning winked, "I drive a car, and I actually know someone from a security company."
After playing with Yaoyao for a while, Sui Ning squeezed into the kitchen to talk to Song Qitang.
"Does Aunt Ruan really want a kidney transplant? As long as I can help, just ask."
"I hope a miracle will bless us, but we still have to be prepared."
There was a crease between Song Qitang's eyebrows. He was worried about Yaoyao watching TV in the living room and motioned for Sui Ning to follow him into the bedroom, "I have thought about it and want to go to the 'Golden Four Seasons'."
