Chapter 8 His Change
Qiao Ange didn't have dinner in the store.
She changed her clothes, borrowed a thermos bucket, carried the freshly made fish soup, and hurried home.
Opening the door and entering the yard, I saw that the lights upstairs were still on.
The small courtyard was quiet, and the lights dimmed in the night, especially softly.
Pei Yi wrapped himself in a blanket and sat cross-legged on the sofa playing with his mobile phone. The TV was on but he didn't watch it.
Qiao Ange came in from outside and rushed into the ice cellar.
"Are you cold or hot?" She found the remote control and raised the temperature. "You can't do this if you don't pay the electricity bill."
She wanted to turn off the TV, but when it happened to be a variety show she liked, she turned it off.
"How much money do you have left?" Pei Yi asked lightly without raising his eyes.
Qiao Ange said alertly: "What are you doing?"
"It's time to replace the air conditioner."
"Don't change it!" Qiao Ange realized that he was looking at the air conditioner on his phone and immediately wanted to cover the screen of his phone to prevent him from continuing to look at it.
There was a little distance between her and Pei Yi, and she moved too fast, and her legs hit the coffee table.
Originally he was just leaning forward, but unexpectedly he fell to a half-kneeling position and fell to the ground.
Her knees were a little numb, but she kept moving her hands, covering the screen of his phone tightly.
And...his fingers.
Pei Yi raised his eyes and met his eyes.
The atmosphere is a bit weird.
Qiao Ange quickly retracted her hand and sat on the floor with her back to him: "Your hands are quite cold..."
It's like ice cubes, and the temperature is so low.
Then she noticed something. She had clearly raised the temperature just now, but why was it still so cold?
The air conditioner is really broken.
Qiao Ange stood up, picked up the remote control and turned it off. Then she went to the room where the sundries were kept and took out the fan.
"Don't open that one, it will give you a headache." Pei Yi frowned.
"I'll find someone to repair the air conditioner tomorrow, so let's make do with it today." Qiao Ange turned to look at him, then quickly looked away, "How about you go to my room to sleep tonight, and I'll sleep on the sofa, and I'll get a clean one."
I’ll put on the sheets for you.”
Pei Yi looked at her, pursed his lips and said nothing.
Qiao Ange has a four-piece bed set made of pure cotton. Zhang Xiangwen gave it to her as a welfare at the end of last year.
It looked expensive at first glance, and she was reluctant to use it.
But no matter how precious it was, she was still afraid of wronging Pei Yi.
He is different from her.
After making the bed, Qiao Ange went to the kitchen to get two small bowls, walked over and opened the thermos bucket and said, "The fish is very fresh. This is what I ordered. Let's take it as a midnight snack. After you finish the soup, you can go to bed early."
Pei Yi didn't speak a word, he was a bit quiet and unlike him.
"You're smart." Pei Yi breathed out and chuckled.
Qiao Ange knew what he was talking about and didn't stop drinking the soup: "No one can stay the same, including you."
If you work in the service industry, you won't be able to think quickly. You can meet all kinds of people.
Zhang Xiangwen is not often in the store, so if anything happens, she will take care of it.
Over the past few years, she has become very familiar with the ability to talk to people and talk nonsense to others.
She knows how to make others feel comfortable without suffering any loss herself.
We haven’t seen each other for so long, but Pei Yi has actually changed.
He knows how to cherish himself.
He is no longer the lunatic he was before, who only wore a single piece of clothing in the middle of the winter, freezing himself until he had a fever, which then turned into pneumonia, and almost killed him.
"If you don't ask me, where did you take him?"
"Will you tell me if I ask?" Qiao Ange still didn't look up.
"Won't."
Qiao Ange was not surprised by this answer at all, and she smiled bitterly.
