Chapter Fourteen(1/2)

"start!"

Lin Feiwan sat down calmly, and as he opened the account book with his left hand, a crisp sound of "clatter" came into his ears.

The thumb, index finger and middle finger of her right hand were flying up and down between the beads, and even with all her strength, she could only see afterimages.

"This is...impossible, she must be messing around."

Zhou Mei murmured and took a few steps forward. When she saw the content on the paper, the color on her face suddenly faded, and her curled nails were embedded in her flesh.

With her back to Zhou Mei, Yu Qingyun did not see that expression. Her eyes fell on her daughter who was skilled in abacus, and her eyebrows furrowed.

This speed can't be matched by the stewards who have worked in the house for decades. Why can't she see through her daughter more and more?

Everyone watched with bated breath, and before they knew it, an hour was approaching, but Lin Feiwan's speed showed no signs of slowing down.

"Snapped!"

When the last bead collided, Lin Feiwan let out a long breath, shook his sore arm and stood up.

"Mom, aunt, I'm done, please check."

"puff!"

Zhou Mei vomited out a mouthful of blood, rolled her eyes and fell to the ground.

"Auntie, auntie fainted."

"Get the person to the bed quickly."

"Holly, go and see why the doctor hasn't arrived yet."

"Madam, the eldest lady ordered the door to be closed before. The doctor could not come in. Aunt Zhang of the Zhou Mansion was also blocked outside the door for a while."

Mother Liu came in from outside and stopped Dongqing.

Yu Qingyun looked over doubtfully, "Wan'er, this..."

"The mother didn't know something. She always felt that someone was following her on her way back. She was so scared that she closed the door. Strange, didn't the maid who went to pick her up bring the doctor in through the back door? Dongqing, didn't you tell her?"

Dongqing knew how to cooperate, and she immediately felt aggrieved.

"As you said, I don't know what's going on. Why don't you call someone over and ask."

When Mama Liu heard this, her eyes rolled, "Madam, now is not the time to dwell on this matter. You should hurry up and ask someone to open the door and welcome Aunt Zhang in."

"Mother Liu is right, Dongqing, why don't you hurry up and do it."

"Wait a minute, madam, eldest lady, Aunt Zhang is an elder of the Hou family after all. She has been neglected for a long time. I'm afraid it's not appropriate to let Dongqing go to greet her. What if she goes back to complain to her uncle..."

Seeing Liu's mother moving Zhou Guang out, Lin Feiwan knew something was wrong.

Sure enough, out of the corner of her eye, she saw Yu Qingyun about to get up. She got up first and pushed her mother back hard.

"Mother Liu is right. I, the legitimate daughter of the Marquis Mansion, will go out to greet her. Will it save me enough face?"

Facing her half-smiling gaze, Liu's mother's words were stuck in her mouth, knowing that this aggressive attack would not be successful.

Lin Feiwan sneered and curled her lips, "Let's go."

"How brave, do you know who is coming outside the door?"

"Let Ms. Yu come out, I have to argue with her, what do you mean? If you climb a high branch, you will forget who you are. If it hadn't been..."

"Clang!"

The door was opened, and Lin Feiwan's cold and stern gaze made the old slave outside the door startled, and the words he wanted to speak were stuck in his throat.

"This is the Marquis' Mansion. I can close it whenever I like. It's not your turn to be a naughty slave to tell me what to do! I don't know much. Mother Liu, please tell her what a sin it is to speak rudely to Mrs. Gaoming."

"Uh... Miss, Madam is here to ask you to invite people in. Look..."

"Humph, you heard me? Why don't you invite our aunt in quickly? Let me tell you that our aunt has never suffered such grievances since she entered the Zhou Mansion. If the master knows about it, humph."

"Snapped!"

There was a crisp sound, and everyone present was immediately stunned. The old slave even forgot to cover his face, and stayed there for several seconds before reacting.

"You...you...dare to hit me!"

"Snapped!"

Lin Feiwan threw his hand high and slapped him again.

"You have no respect, you speak rudely, and you want to sow discord between the Hou family and the Zhou family. I will hit you lightly!"

She walked a few steps down and looked at the carriage.

"Wan'er said hello to my great-aunt. Someone was following me just now, so I asked my servants to close the door. When my mother heard that you were coming, she was going to come out to greet you, but Aunt Zhou fainted and needed someone to take care of her. My mother also said that my great-aunt was ice-snowy and virtuous.

I am most considerate of this junior. That old slave just ruined your reputation, and Wan'er was so angry that he took action. Wan'er knew that he had gone too far, so he came here to apologize."

In the car, Zhang Yuling's expression changed again and again. It depends on the owner to beat the dog. Lin Feiwan knew clearly that every move of Zhang's mother meant what she meant, yet she dared to do it again and again. It was obviously to show her.

But after saying these words, it was impossible for anyone to find fault with her. She could only swallow her breath and get off the road.

No wonder Zhou Mei fell into the hands of this sick man several times. She had really underestimated him before, so she had to tell the master when she got back.

She put on a smile, picked up the curtain and got out of the car.

"I actually fell asleep during this jolt. I am really old and useless."

"No way, my aunt looks like this, and no one would believe you when she said you were only in your early thirties."

Zhang Yuling didn't mention what happened just now, but she was happy to expose it.

"Your little mouth looks like it's been smeared with honey. Are you feeling well lately?"

"It's already great."

The two walked inside singing in harmony, looking like a pair of closely related grandparents.

How could Mother Zhang dare to act like a monster after being beaten? She quickly picked up the food box and followed her.

Lin Feiwan's peripheral vision glanced over, revealing a hint of doubt.

In the Qinghe Courtyard.

Lin Ran was so angry that he threw down his abacus, when Ju Xiang hurried in.

"Miss, please stop practicing, something big will happen."

Juxiang breathlessly told the story of Lin Feiwan and Zhou Mei's bet, and how they won in the end.

"Clang!"

The abacus fell to the ground, and the beads scattered all over the floor.

"It's all my fault, that good-for-nothing mother Zhang. If I had killed that sick boy earlier, where would these things have happened?"

"Miss, don't be angry. Thanks to my aunt's foresight, she sent someone to the Zhou Mansion early to invite Aunt Zhang to come over. What a coincidence, the eldest lady said that she seemed to be being followed, so she had the door closed. Now Aunt Zhang is stopped.

It's been a while outside, Zhang's mother has always been very aggressive, and her mother and daughter will suffer a lot."

"Deserve it!"

"Hey...Miss, look at that."

How could Aunt Zhang be so close to Lin Feiwan, and the old slave behind who looked like a thief, was it Mother Zhang?

Lin Ran's eyes widened and he pinched Ju Xiang in disbelief.

"It hurts, Miss. It hurts."

She let go of her hand, and Juxiang immediately jumped a meter away, fearing that she would be pinched again.

Lin Ran twisted the handkerchief hard, and with a strong force, the embroidered brocade handkerchief was torn into two pieces.

"unlucky!"

"Don't worry, miss, let's go check out the situation first."

"Walk."

Inside the Lily Courtyard.

As soon as Dr. Hu put his hand on his pulse, Zhou Mei opened her eyes.

"Shh..."

After whispering, Doctor Hu came out with a serious look on his face.

"How is the patient?"

"Madam, I'm afraid that my aunt has a heart disease and needs to take good care of herself. She shouldn't get angry or be irritated in the near future, otherwise she may... ugh."

"What's going on? Sister Mei was fine when I last saw her as a child. How can I explain to the master when I go back?"

Zhang Yuling covered her face with a handkerchief, left Lin Feiwan and went into the house.

"Ahem...why are you here?"

"I happened to be passing by, and so were you. Why didn't you tell your family that you were sick?"

"I didn't take good care of my sister."
