Chapter 4499

At night, he held her tightly and whispered in her ear many times, "I love you."

Behind her, another man stood quietly. His eyes were sad, and he turned and left. His shadow was quickly obscured by layers of thick fog.

"Edward!" She was pleasantly surprised. It was already a sunny day outside the window.

When I went downstairs, the smell of toast was already filling the air, but Edward's was not in the kitchen.

She put the finished toast on the plate and stood on tiptoes to get the strawberry jam from the cabinet above, but no matter how she stood on tiptoes, she could never reach the top item.

A hand reached over her head and easily took the strawberry jam. She turned around and bumped into a warm chest.

She held her nose and backed away, but bumped into the shelf behind her where the dishes were placed. Frightened by the sound of the dishes colliding with each other, she hurriedly hid aside.

Edward was worried that she had hurt herself, so he quickly pulled her away, "What's wrong with you, are you absent-minded?"

"Did I?" She was like a kitten whose tail was stepped on, "I'm not absent-minded, I'm very rational now."

The corners of Edward's mouth raised slightly, and he returned to the table with the strawberry jam.

"I'm really awake, okay." Ding Yiyi followed him, and she felt much better without those blue eyes watching her.

After breakfast, Edward put on a suit for a rare occasion. She thought it was because of the date tonight, and her heart was pounding.

"Today we have to discuss something with the publisher. You must remember to have lunch." He said while tying his tie.

Ding Yiyi was a little disappointed, but she still said, "That's right. No wonder you are dressed so formally today. Don't worry, I will definitely have a good lunch."

Her eyes glanced to the side unnaturally, her heart felt empty, and she was already thinking about whether she should prepare to return the house she had booked.

"By the way." Edward walked to the entrance and turned around again. He looked at her with gentle eyes, "See you in the evening."

His smile drove away her disappointment. She nodded happily and said to his back: "See you in the evening."

With waiting, the whole day passed quickly. In the afternoon, Ding Yiyi came to the hotel lobby.

"Hello, I've reserved a room." She was very nervous when she thought about what she was going to do tonight.

The waiter smiled and helped guide her, "Okay, please come with me."

She followed the waiter into the elevator. There were mirrors on all sides of the elevator. She looked at herself who was obviously very nervous in the mirror and kept cheering herself up.

As soon as she stepped out of the elevator door, she bumped into the person she least wanted to see. When she saw the person looking at her with raised eyebrows, she lowered her head and hurriedly ran to her room.

She felt safer after entering the room, but her mind was like a ball of wool that had been messed up by a cat. Why was he here? Why did he meet her?

There was a knock at the door, and she was startled. She hurriedly looked through the peephole and opened the door after seeing a waiter standing outside.

"Hello, is this what you just dropped? A gentleman picked it up and asked me to return it to you." The waiter handed her the wallet.

She hurriedly took it and said, "Thank you, I was careless."

After the waiter left, she called the front desk to reserve a table for a candlelight dinner. After everything was ready, it was already past seven o'clock, and she called Edward.

The other party claimed that it was about half an hour late, and she hung up the phone and looked out the window lonely.
