Chapter 13 Where are you going?

Author: Suisui

The night was already dark, everything was quiet, and the moonlight was lonely and deserted.

Su Mo raised his head and looked at the brightest stars in the night sky, a trace of nostalgia flashed in his eyes.

After a busy day, all parts of his body were very sore. Su Mo yawned and had no desire to count the large pot of copper coins he got from selling the wild boar.

When she walked back to the house, the three children were already asleep.

Gu Ping'an was sleeping inside, lying on his side, sleeping peacefully. In the middle, Gu Xingnian was lying in a big character shape, with drool at the corner of his mouth.

Gu Jinnian beside him was curled up, his hand still holding the hem of Gu Xingnian's clothes, his brows slightly furrowed, as if he would wake up at any moment.

Three children, three sleeping positions.

Su Mo walked over quietly, sat on the edge of the bed and took off his shoes, then lay down on the empty space on the bed and fell asleep.

Habits formed in the last days are hard to erase. Su Mo didn't sleep peacefully. When the sky got dark, he opened his eyes.

Before the three children woke up, Su Mo got up gropingly. There were several willow trees that were growing well not far from the small courtyard. She went to break off the willow branches and came back.

I chose one to rinse my mouth with, and put the rest on the table, waiting for the three children to wake up.

The sun has already risen. According to the original person's memory, at about midnight, there will be an ox cart from the village going to the county. If he misses it, he will have to walk alone.

The road is not short, it takes an hour to walk to get there. If you can take an ox cart, naturally you don't want to walk.

Su Mo walked to the kitchen, washed rice quickly and lit a fire, and cooked the last bowl of rice left yesterday into half a pot of thick rice porridge.

Then scoop some sugar down with a spoon, stir it gently with a spatula, and the sweet rice porridge is ready.

There were still some sparks in the stove. Su Mo put the lid on the pot and went to the bedroom to wake up the three children.

Just when I walked to the door, I saw three children walking outside, their clothes were neatly dressed, and their little hands were arranging their hair.

Su Mo smiled and pointed to the willow branch on the table.

"I've cooked porridge. You take the willow branches and follow me to the kitchen to rinse your mouth and drink the porridge."

Almost all the people in the village used willow branches to clean their mouths. The three children didn't hesitate and obediently picked up the willow branches and followed Su Mo.

Su Mo took three ceramic bowls, filled them with water, and placed them within reach of the three children. He told them to rinse their mouths and then take the bowls to the living room to drink porridge.

He put the porridge in the pot into a large clay pot, covered the bowl with it, and carried it to the living room together.

Time was a little tight, so she didn't wait for the three children. She held the bowl by herself and estimated that she drank two bowls of porridge. She wasn't full, but it was enough.

She put down the bowl, went into the bedroom, found the thousand copper coins she had hidden yesterday, poured them into a cloth bag, and poured the money from yesterday's meat sale into it as well.

She changed her mind. The house was too simple and she needed to buy too many things. She made some money now and bought them all at once.

After all, if you can't survive now, how can you talk about the long term?

When she was cleaning the kitchen yesterday, she saw a basket, which she washed and hung to dry in the yard. It would be a good place to hold copper plates.

Gu Ping'an and Gu Xingnian were immersed in the sweet rice porridge and did not pay much attention to Su Mo.

Gu Jinnian, on the other hand, did not forget to look around vigilantly while eating porridge. When he found Su Mo coming out with a basket on his back, a cold look appeared in his dark eyes.

"Where are you going!"

It was Gu Jinnian who took the initiative to speak to Su Mo, his tone dark and angry.

As expected, this woman had evil intentions and tempted them with sweet rice porridge so that she could leave with the money.

Gu Ping'an heard Gu Jinnian's voice and raised his head. After seeing Su Mo's dress, he subconsciously panicked, and his dark face turned pale with fear.

Mom, are you...going to abandon them again?

Only Gu Xingnian drank the last mouthful of porridge carelessly, got down from the chair, and walked over, tilting his head like a curious baby.

"Mom, where are you going?"

Su Mo rubbed the top of her head, looked at Gu Ping'an and Gu Jinnian, and patiently explained: "There is no rice at home, so my mother went to the county to buy some."

Gu Xingnian blinked, feeling like she wanted to go. She remembered Qingzhou telling her that there were a lot of delicious and fun places in the county, but she had never been there.

Gu Jinnian didn't believe it. He sneered and stared coldly to see what else this woman would say to fool them.

Gu Ping'an's face softened a lot, but his eyes were still a little suspicious: "Really?"

Su Mo nodded.

Gu Ping'an was hesitant, with the sweet taste of rice porridge still lingering in his mouth. He thought for a while and asked cautiously: "Then...then I want to go too.

I am very strong and can help you carry your things."

It should be fine if he just keeps an eye on it, right?

His eyes gradually became firmer, and before Su Mo had time to reply, Gu Xingnian's eyes lit up and he quickly said, "I'm going too, I'm going too."

After saying that, fearing that Su Mo wouldn't want to, he raised his hand and patted his small chest: "Xingnian can also help mother with that thing!"

Su Mo smiled, she knelt down and picked up Gu Xingnian.

"Okay, okay, let's go."

When they went there, they didn't have to worry about the wrong size of their clothes.

Gu Pingan breathed a sigh of relief, raised the corners of his mouth, and followed Su Mo.

Su Mo looked at Gu Jinnian and asked with a smile: "Are you going to Jinnian?"

Gu Jinnian stared at Su Mo fiercely, drank the last mouthful of porridge in the bowl, and then got down from the chair.

"go!"

Why not? He was going to keep an eye on the provincial brother and younger sister who were deceived by this woman.

In this way, the original group of one person became a group of four.

When the four people arrived at the entrance of the village, the bullock cart was about to leave.

Su Mo quickly shouted: "Wait a minute..."

She hugged Gu Xingnian and quickened her pace. At the same time, she did not forget to turn around and say to the Gu Ping'an brothers:

"Mom, go ahead and stop the bullock cart."

In fact, there was no need for her to chase after him. The people in the bullock cart heard the sound, looked back, saw the people, and asked the driver of the bullock cart to stop.

"Isn't this the Su family? Is this what you are?"

The woman sitting at the rear of the car looked at Su Mo with a smile, and was a little surprised when she saw Gu Xingnian in her arms.

Su Mo looked over and saw that she was Chen Cihai's daughter-in-law. Her surname was Wang and her given name was Taoqing. Like her husband, she was a warm-hearted person.

She smiled and put Gu Xingnian on the gap in the carriage, and explained: "There is no rice at home. I sold wild boars yesterday to save some money, so I thought about going to the county to buy some."

Wang Taoqing suddenly realized, seeing the two brothers Gu Ping'an rushing over, she moved to the side and said with a smile: "Come up quickly."

There were not many people sitting on the bullock cart. There were men and women. When they heard the noise and looked over, their eyes were quite kind.

Su Mo smiled back, carried Gu Ping'an and Gu Jinnian into the cart, and then he lifted his legs and sat on it.

The oxcart cost two cents per person, and the money was paid for delivery. It was bought by Chen and Wang as a partnership. Each person worked for a day, and the money was divided equally.

After Su Mo got on the seat, he handed over the fare that he had prepared. The driver happily accepted it, and then whipped his whip, causing the wheels to roll and dust to fly.

Gu Xingnian was completely covered in Wang Taoqing's arms.

With quick eyes and quick hands, Su Mo wrapped his arms around Gu Ping'an and Gu Jinnian, his wide sleeves blocking the rising dust.

When the dust fell to the ground, Su Mo retracted his hand and looked ahead.

Gu Jinnian looked at her dusty sleeves, his eyes paused, and there was a faint movement in his heart...
