Chapter 19 Doll
Wuming finally found his way to Galle's campfire and found Gale hanging his head in the thick fog and falling into a deep sleep.
"Hey, I'm awake. How can you sleep in such a heavy fog? Aren't you afraid of getting sick?" Wuming called Gale.
Gale didn't respond. Only the slight rise and fall of his body proved that he was still alive. If Wuming hadn't had hypnosis tools, he would have felt that the mist was strange.
Wuming had no choice but to put away his weapon and stretched out his hand to move Gale out of the thick fog first. When he woke up, he asked him what the problem was.
But when Wuming's fingertips touched Caleb, he was stunned.
The nameless fingertips passed through Gale's body, causing ripples in Gale's body, like the bright moon in the water.
Wuming stopped and grabbed the sword and shield again.
"It seems that the problem is myself." Wuming glanced around.
It was obvious that he had fallen into an illusion.
He couldn't tell whether it was an illusion constructed by light magic or an illusion that directly affected the soul's perception.
Wuming walked around the Ailei Church several times, and finally fixed his sights on a ruined wall next to Blessing.
The ruins of the wall looked ordinary, no different from ordinary ones. But Wuming noticed something unusual.
The nameless sword points in that direction:
"I can feel the smell of souls, and they are quite powerful souls. Your Excellency, would you like to show yourself?"
The mist produced some fluctuations, and a human figure appeared on the originally empty broken wall.
This is a doll. It’s hard to tell whether the body is made of wood or clay. The joints are made of knots and it has four arms.
The doll is roughly blue in color, wearing a long skirt, a pointed hat, a fluffy cloak, and a beautiful face under the long blue hair.
There is also half an illusory human face beside the face, sharing the same closed eye with the real face.
The doll sits on the broken wall, looking down from a high position.
"Faded One, I don't want to disturb you." The doll spoke, "I'm waiting for someone, and that person is not you."
Wuming looked at the doll, surprised and speechless.
The strange-looking yet stunning doll is smiling:
"Why, didn't you ask me to appear? Why are you so surprised when I come out?"
"You look like a horse." Wuming pointed at her and said, "This is the way you appear."
The puppet's smile disappeared and it was silent for a few seconds.
The doll said: "In short, we will not have any intersection. I don't want to disturb you. If there is nothing else, I will concentrate on waiting for the person I am looking for."
Wuming folded his arms and stared at the doll.
"Is there anything else?" the puppet asked.
"I want to use this place, can you wait somewhere else?" Wuming asked.
"No." The puppet answered neatly.
"Who are you waiting for? You have to wait here." Wuming was puzzled, "Have you made an appointment? Give me confirmation so that I can come over at a fixed time."
The puppet was silent for a moment and said:
"The person I'm waiting for doesn't know I'm waiting for him."
"Then you are not crazy." Wuming said, "Can we wait until there is no ghost?"
Wuming looked at the doll:
"But you seem to be a ghost."
The puppet ignored him.
"Who are you looking for? Is it reliable to take the initiative to find someone instead of just waiting for someone to come?" Wuming asked.
"I'm looking for a horse." The doll looked up at the full moon and the golden tree in the sky with an inexplicably complicated expression, "There's also a person on the horse."
"Oh, I understand, you're looking for the big tree guard, right?" Wuming suddenly said, "Yes, he usually always hangs around here, but he suddenly disappeared."
Wuming looked at the doll:
"Who are you? His girlfriend who was dumped? Don't tell me you are his wife."
Wuming was prepared to have some cordial exchanges with the big tree guards. He was a little embarrassed to meet the victim's family members in advance.
The puppet glanced at him, his eyes cold.
Wuming understood that look and felt relieved:
"I understand, no."
"I'm waiting for a faded one." The doll said slowly, "But it's not you."
"But you haven't made an appointment, how can you wait?" Wuming asked.
The doll said: "There are merchants here, there are anvils, and there are powerful enemies that he has never defeated. He will definitely come back."
"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Wuming shook his finger, "Little girl, you don't understand this. From the first glance, you have never wandered in the border area. As an adventurer, never turning back is an important characteristic."
The puppet seemed to be shocked by the burst of confidence in the unspeakable words, and hesitantly said:
"What do you mean?"
Wuming walked up to Gale and gestured:
"I have also seen the products of Caleb. Is there anything valuable that is worthy of a special trip by a faded person?"
He also gestured to the anvil:
"Let the faded one forge his own iron. Does he have the ability? And does he have the resources? When he really collects the materials to strengthen the equipment, why doesn't he go to the Round Table Hall and let professionals come?"
Wuming said: "As for strong enemies... this is the most likely opportunity for the Faded Ones to return here, but the probability is not high. So there are few fading ones who care about it, and there are strong enemies everywhere in the border area, how can we get him?
"
Nameless summary: "In short, the Faded One has no reason to come back, how could you wait."
The puppet is unconvinced:
"I just want to give him something. If it doesn't work, I can give it to the Round Table."
"Then you are even more naive, little girl." Wuming smiled, "Don't you know that there has been no newcomer to the round table for a long time?"
"You sound like a little girl, you're a rude guy." The doll said in a serious tone, "I'm older than you."
"That's not necessarily the case." Wuming began to rely on his old age, "I can't do anything else, but I can survive. In terms of age, except for a certain bald man, I don't fear anyone."
The expression of the doll became more and more indifferent, and a cold aura spread out. The mist was like cold tentacles, passing through the nameless armor, like a cold murderous intention.
Wuming looked at the doll:
"I have a suggestion that can increase your probability of meeting the faded one."
"Oh?" The puppet clasped its hands together, "Tell me about it."
"You leave first and give the place to me." Wuming said. "I want to build this place into a new round table, a warm haven for the faded people, and a perfect place to stay. When the time comes, they will all come here, you will see
Then the probability of fading is even greater."
"Why do you think I had to set up an illusion in this lonely place to find him?"
"In order not to be discovered by others?" Wuming guessed.
The puppet nodded slightly.
"But you have been discovered by 'others'." Wuming said.
"Are you reminding me that I have to shut that person's mouth forever?" the doll said in a cold tone.
"Are you so afraid of being discovered by others?" Wuming didn't care about the threat of the doll, "Are you a wanted criminal?"
"A wanted criminal..." the doll smiled playfully, "I did commit a serious crime."
"How much is the reward?" Wuming got straight to the point.
"Why do you ask?"
"The amount of the bounty determines my attitude towards you." Wuming grabbed the sword and shield, eager to try and stretch his muscles.
"It's so rude and disrespectful. It's displeasing." The doll responded coldly to Wuming's fiery eyes, "You want to catch me? You might as well give it a try."
The four hands of the doll reached for the cloak and took out the things hidden in the cloak——
Four exquisite and gorgeous scepters.
The gorgeous blue pyroxene on the scepter points to Wuming.
"I'll blanch it." Wuming's eyes suddenly shrank.
To be continued...
