Chapter 16 Christmas
Author: Take the wind as a knife
With only a few days left before Christmas, a festive atmosphere quietly enveloped the entire college.
Everyone had smiles on their faces involuntarily. During class, half of their minds were focused on listening to the lectures, while the other half of their minds were outside, planning what they should do during the Christmas vacation.
The auditorium had another round of decorations. Hanging ribbons of holly and mistletoe hung all over the walls. Twelve towering Christmas trees were placed on both sides, with small icicles and candles hung on them.
It finally started snowing heavily outside. It no longer turned into water when it fell to the ground. The cold air condensed all the water vapor in the air into snow, making it feel refreshing for a while.
Snow was piled on the lawn, and the lake was covered with hard ice. Half of the students were having snowball fights in their spare time, and the other half were skating on the lake. Only a few were enjoying the warm flames of the fireplace in the lounge.
Guan Qiong no longer shuts herself in the Room of Requirement and the library, and goes outdoors to enjoy rare leisure time.
Then he saw the Weasley brothers used magic to make Snowball chase Quirrell, and finally hit Quirrell's turbaned back head.
Guan Qiong's eyes twitched. If he remembered correctly, it should be the face of a certain Dark Lord.
He is indeed our king, Weasley!
Guan Qiong looked at the Weasley brothers who were being punished by Professor McGonagall, and sighed, then ran to the edge of the ice lake.
Hagrid sat next to him, watching the wizards galloping on the ice lake, and drank the wine from the water bag comfortably.
"Hagrid."
Two big characters suddenly appeared in front of Hagrid.
"Huh? Oh, it's Qiong." Hagrid turned his head and saw Guan Qiong standing next to him.
After he sat down, he was on the same level as Guan Qiong.
"I have bought what you want, a total of three galleons, eleven sigs, and twenty-two kats, of which three sigs are extra for those poor owls. In this kind of weather, we have to cross the entire continent, and we have to travel across the entire continent.
They're exhausted, you probably won't mind," Hagrid said.
"Of course." Guan Qiong's wand flew out of light.
In his previous life, he was always troubled by money and exhausted at work. This life is much easier. After all, he now has enough to eat and the whole family has nothing to worry about.
The income from the Forbidden Forest, not to mention being rich and powerful, at least allowed him to not have to worry about pocket money while he was in school.
And he also has other ideas to make money, but they require a longer vacation to implement.
"The things are in my hut, you can go and get them now, oh, by the way." Hagrid scratched his head, blinked his eyes, and said a little embarrassedly.
"I saw a "Guide to Raising Fire Dragons" inside. Hey, is Qiongqi also interested in fire dragons?" Hagrid smiled widely, his black beetle-like eyes blinking with joy.
He didn't expect that Guan Qiong had the same interests and hobbies as him. This was the first time he had encountered her in so many years at school.
"That's a Christmas gift for you." Guan Qiong said, "But I do have some interest in fire dragons."
"You think they're cute too, don't you?" Hagrid's voice became louder, then lowered, "It's a pity that private dragon breeding is not allowed now, so this book can only be read, not of any use."
Guan Qiong patted the big guy on the shoulder.
"There will be a chance."
He left a message and walked towards Hagrid's hut, leaving Hagrid alone by the lake, thinking about the possibility of raising dragons, laughing from time to time.
Hermione was busy writing her holiday homework and giving instructions to the two of them at the same time.
"You must continue to search while I am away. If you find any news about Nico Flamel, send an owl to tell me."
Harry and Ron looked at each other and nodded in agreement, "Don't be idle at home. You can ask your parents." Ron said.
Hermione glanced at him, closed the homework in front of her, and breathed a sigh of relief.
She has finished all the Christmas homework left by her professors.
"Who says I'm just idle at home? I'm not always playing when I get home."
Harry looked at the homework Hermione put in her bag and asked tentatively, "What are you doing?"
"Finish your Hogwarts homework first, so you don't have to worry about unfinished homework when you go home to take cram school," Hermione said.
When the two of them had their jaws dropped, Hermione added another sentence.
"Normal studies must not be left behind. I don't want to be unable to use a computer after graduating from Hogwarts."
"Um, what is that computer?" Ron asked Harry.
"I've only heard of it. It's a very complicated machine with..." Harry recalled the information he had glanced at on TV.
"There's software, there's hardware, etc." Harry said hesitantly, not sure.
"What's that software and hardware?" Ron asked.
These were two words he had never heard before and could not understand at all.
"That's right. That's right." Harry scratched his head and looked at Hermione.
Hermione looked at the two of them as if they were idiots, sighed heavily, and prepared to put her homework back in the dormitory.
She gave up explaining these things to them, and magic had already filled their little heads. If they added things from human society, their brains would freeze.
Well, yes, crash, this is also an extension of the word computer.
Hermione thought, and then couldn't help but think of more places.
Guan Qiong, does he know these things? I heard that he is a child in an orphanage, so he probably doesn't know.
She was better than him in this aspect, but she didn't feel happy because of it.
She would not compare herself with Guan Qiong in a place like this. It was unfair.
By the time she came out of the dormitory, Ron had already played wizard chess with Guan Qiong, and Harry was watching the game. It looked like he had just lost.
"Humph!" Facing Guan Qiong's gaze, Hermione snorted softly and ran out of the lounge.
There was still a little time left, and she was going to the library to read and look for information about Nico Flamel.
"It looks like it's time for a holiday, and she's giving you a holiday too." Guan Qiong's wand flew out with a light spot, with a smile on her face.
"No way, she just asked us to continue searching during the holiday." Ron complained while ordering the wizard chess moves below.
"Joan, do you know who Nicolas Flamel is?" Harry suddenly asked from the side.
"Of course I know." Guan Qiong said.
Looking at the two people's eyes, he added, "Are you sure you want to listen to me?"
Harry and Ron remembered what Hermione had said before, if they asked Guan Qiong, they would not let her check their homework in the future.
And as a third party, they could see clearly that Hermione and Guan Qiong were just having a little temper, but if they took refuge with Guan Qiong, then Hermione and them would really break off their friendship.
Although they are only twelve years old, Harry, who sleeps at the bottom of the stairs all the time, and Ron, who has five brothers above, understand some interpersonal relationships better than ordinary young wizards, and can see things more clearly.
"No, no, no." The two of them shook their heads quickly and lowered their heads to watch the chess game.
Guan Qiong smiled, said no more, and continued to chat with Ron until only the king and queen were left on the field.
