Chapter 352: Taoist Yuanjun, Buddhist Bodhisattva

The waning moon hangs high and the wind blows in the bamboo forest.

The creek surrounds it, and green pavilions stand quietly.

Rows of low tables were placed on both sides of the gravel road, and on each table were mostly half-eaten vegetarian dishes.

Taoist priests and monks sat across from each other, their movements gentle and graceful, and they seemed to have attained the Taoism.

Li Xuan, wearing a robe with black background and gold threads, is sitting under the green pavilion. Her handsome face, sharp eyebrows, sharp nose, dignified demeanor and noble temperament attract the most attention.

While her eyes were thinking, Li Xuan took a sip of the tea in her hand, and then looked at the Buddhist and Taoist practitioners and the mage on both sides.

Sitting at the top on the left is Master Xuan En from Tushita Temple, followed by Master Mingshui from Lushan Taoist Temple, Taoist Lin Yi from Chisong Temple, and others from other Taoist temples such as Chongzheng Temple and Zhengyi Temple.

Yu's real person.

Sitting at the top on the right is Zen Master Wudao from the Ancient Buddhist Temple, followed by Master Tongzhi from Dazhi Temple, Master Zhenwu from Mingzhao Temple, Master Fang Qin from Youqi Temple in Niutoushan, and others from Guanyin Pavilion.

The great monk of Babao Temple and other temples.

The banquet has been going on, and most of the time has passed.

Although Buddhism and Taoism are different sects, they do not confront each other as soon as they open their mouths.

Until now during the banquet, everyone has only occasionally debated scriptures and said a few words.

As the host, Li Xuan didn't speak much all night. Apart from a few polite words before the banquet, there wasn't much else.

Finally, Li Xuan put down the teacup in her hand and coughed lightly.

Suddenly, the eyes of all the monks present were focused on Li Xuan.

In an instant, there seemed to be countless transparent eyes, which seemed to be able to see through Li Xuan's whole person.

Li Xuan smiled faintly, and then said calmly: "Although I practice Taoism under my mentor, I have no distinction between Taoism and Buddhism. Taoism has been around for countless years, and Buddhism has an equally long history, and it has reached the Middle Earth.

Over the years, I have already assimilated into the teachings of the Middle Earth. I wonder if you, the masters and masters, have any objections?"

"Good!" Master Xuan En nodded without any hesitation and said: "There is a way in the world, and the way is unified."

This is what Zhuangzi said in "Equality of Things".

Li Xuan smiled faintly, and then looked at Zen Master Wudao on the other side.

Zen Master Wu Dao clasped his palms together and said calmly: "All living beings have Buddha nature. This is a majestic land that benefits sentient beings."

This is the fundamental purpose of Buddhism, to create a beautiful world in which all living beings are harmonious and happy, which originates from the Sutra of Repaying Benefit to the Buddha of Great Convenience.

The others lowered their heads slightly, thinking about something.

At this time, monk Zhenwu from Mingzhao Temple suddenly said: "I am different from this, I can do anything."

People present looked at Monk Zhenwu in surprise, because this was a quote from the Analects of Confucius.

Recalling that Mingzhao Temple was built by Ruan Fu, the great-grandson of Ruan Ji, Li Xuan looked at monk Zhenwu, nodded slightly, and said: "The world is unified but has many concerns, and the same destination leads to different paths."

"Good!" Everyone present nodded at the same time and cheered in unison.

Li Xuan smiled bitterly and said: "I once heard that the wind blows the flags from time to time. One monk said the wind was blowing, and another monk said the flags were moving. There was endless discussion. Hui Nengjin said: 'It's not the wind that's moving, it's not the flags that are moving, it's the heart of a benevolent person that's moving.'

.Now it seems that my heart is moved."

"Your Majesty, you have mercy!" Everyone present, regardless of their intentions, bowed respectfully at this time.

Li Xuan originally wanted to say that if Buddhism entered the Middle Earth, it would be the Buddhism of the Middle Earth. Master Xuan En naturally nodded in response. However, Zen Master Wu Dao expanded the scope to the entire world, India, Tubo and all sentient beings in the Middle Earth.

There is no difference.

The ideological differences between the two sides are not small. At this time, monk Zhenwu from Mingzhao Temple suddenly spoke, "Seek common ground while reserving differences."

Li Xuan's idea is good, and everyone agrees with it, but when it comes to the end, it is far from being explained in a few words.

It's just a matter of expediency.

Li Xuan turned to look at Monk Fang Qin who was looking down, and said gently: "Master Fang Qin, I have heard that in the early years, Master Hongren, the Fifth Patriarch, once called all his disciples one day and asked everyone to write a verse. He also said:

Those who understand the general idea will pay the Dharma of clothing and will be passed down to the Sixth Generation.

His disciple, Master Shenxiu, wrote a verse in front of the door: 'The body is like a bodhi tree, and the mind is like a mirror stand. Always brush it diligently to prevent any dust.'"

"That's right." Monk Fang Qin nodded slightly, then looked at Zen Master Wu Dao who was looking up.

The ancient Buddhist temple is a lay disciple of Bodhidharma, the first founder of Zen Buddhism, and the Youqi Temple in Niutoushan is a lay disciple of Master Daoxin, the fourth founder of Zen Buddhism.

It stands to reason that Shenxiu is the direct disciple of the Fifth Patriarch Hongren, but in the end, the Sixth Patriarch fell to Master Huineng who came from the side. The biggest dispute lies in this verse.

The body is like a Bodhi tree, and the mind is like a mirror. Always brush it diligently to prevent any dust.

This sounds like it means cultivating oneself, but in fact it separates oneself from all living beings and puts oneself above all living beings.

"Therefore, the Fifth Patriarch rebuked Shenxiu: You wrote this verse, but you have not seen your true nature. You have only gone outside the door, not inside the door. With such an understanding, it is impossible to find the supreme Bodhi." Wu Dao opened his mouth, looked at Li Xuan, and asked:

"I wonder what the prince means by this?"

Li Xuan smiled faintly and changed her words: "Zen Master Huineng later composed a verse: Bodhi has no tree, and the mirror is not a stand. There is nothing in the beginning, so how can it cause dust."

"Emptiness is form, and form is emptiness." Zen Master Wu Dao put his hands together and said, "I have learned a lot after hearing this."

With these words, Huineng directly secured his position as the Sixth Patriarch.

Li Xuan smiled lightly and said: "The world is big, but the most severe thing is the inheritance of Taoism and the belief in Dharma."

As soon as Li Xuan said these words, the faces of many monks present suddenly changed.

Because Li Xuan is right, among Buddhism, the most severe thing is the inheritance of Taoism.

Within Buddhism, the Zen sect, starting from its first patriarch Bodhidharma, has had a fierce internal competition for the status of its ancestor.

Huineng was in danger many times, and finally had to hide among the hunters in the mountains and live in seclusion for fifteen years.

After the Dharma was fully accomplished, people began to teach the Dharma and receive precepts.

Among them, the one who poses the greatest threat to Yu Huineng is Shenxiu, the direct disciple of the Fifth Patriarch Hongren.

No one thought that after Li Xuan had just said so much, he was finally led in this direction. No wonder everyone looked embarrassed.

Li Xuan immediately turned his head, looked at Master Xuan En on one side, and said directly: "Uncle Master, the moonlight is like water, where does this moonlight come from?"

"Huh?" Master Xuan En was slightly stunned, and somewhat understood what Li Xuan wanted to say.

He glanced at Wu Dao and then said: "The moonlight is born where the sun shines."

This quote comes from Zhang Heng, the Master of the Eastern Han Dynasty, from "Ling Xian".

Li Xuan nodded slightly and looked at Master Mingshui behind him.

Master Mingshui immediately pinched Ziwu and said: "The sun shines on the moon, and the moonlight is born, so it becomes a bright moon."

"Zhou Bi Suan Jing", Q&A between Shang Gao and Zhou Gong.

With Master Xuan En's advice, Master Mingshui already understood what Li Xuan was asking.

Finally, Li Xuan looked at Taoist Lin Yi behind him.

Lin Yi took a breath, and then said: "Wherever the sun shines, it will be bright, and where it does not shine, it will be dark."

Jingfang of the Western Han Dynasty, "Kaiyuan Zhanjing".

Li Xuan turned to look at Master Wu Dao on the other side.

After hearing that the three Taoist disciples deliberately avoided the gods and only talked about phenomena, Master Wu Dao also somewhat understood what Li Xuan meant by what he just said.

After thinking for a moment, Master Wu Dao said: "Moonlight comes from the moon. The moon is made of glass and sky silver, so it is bright and shining."

Monk Zhenwu reacted the fastest and then spoke: "The Moon Palace is Yongde. It always takes in all the Yin. Every time there is Yang, misfortunes are invaded by each other. Sunshine and darkness patrol around and cover. Grace and Dai shine. I hope there will always be light."

Thumbs up to Protect the Moon.

"Praise to the Bodhisattva Namo, whose moonlight shines all over the place!" Many monks present clapped their hands together and shouted in unison.

Li Xuan nodded with satisfaction, and then said: "In this case, I would also like to ask all the Dharma masters to give lectures tomorrow on the "Medicine Master Glazed Light Tathagata's Original Vows and Merit Sutra" and "The Buddha Speaks of the Moonlight Bodhisattva Sutra".

After finishing speaking, Li Xuan looked at Master Xuan En on one side and said with a solemn expression: "I would also like to invite all my uncles and brothers to give a lecture tomorrow on the Taishang Lingbao Pure Brightness Flying Immortal Sutra to Save People" Taiyin Yuanjun

Chapters, "Edict of Taiyin Emperor", "Taiyin Zhenjun Chapter of Taishang Dongzhen Five Stars Secret Teaching Sutra", "Tongyuan Collection Volume 7" Moon Palace Taiyin Emperor Chapter."

"Receive the decree." Many Taoists and monks present immediately understood the meaning of Li Xuan's words.

Moonlight Faith, Taiyin Yuanjun, Moonlight Bodhisattva, Tianyin Goddess, Tianyin Sect.

Li Xuan saw it very clearly.

The inheritance of faith and the struggle for faith are instincts deeply engraved in the bones, whether it is Taoism or Buddhism.

What's more, they won't miss it if they compete with a cult like Tianyin Sect.

Li Xuan stood up directly in front of everyone, looked at everyone and said: "The inheritance of Tianyin Sect is not long-standing, and it can only be achieved because of natural and man-made disasters. They took advantage of the situation and poisoned all living beings. Nowadays, inside and outside Wuzhou City,

The bandits and thieves in the sky have been wiped out, and the people are pure. It is time to reshape their souls. I hope that all the real Zen masters can spare no effort to make the people's hearts return to something."
