Chapter 10 The first failure(1/2)

Author: A Clockwork Orange Dream

"right here!"

Ji Chunzao walked behind a sliding door. When she turned around, her skirt was flowing. She posed lively, as if she was solemnly introducing a secret to him.

They are currently in a secluded alley. Yan Jingxing raised his head and looked up. The area and scale of this building were the largest on the streets in the center of the town. He could also see two floating in the air.

Red hydrogen balloon.

If you go around to the other side, you can still see cartoon-shaped inflatable dolls swinging around under the blow of the blower.

"Isn't this a shopping mall? This is the back entrance."

"Yes, the back door."

Ji Chunzao pointed to the tractor-trailer with cardboard boxes stacked not far away.

"This is the channel for loading goods. It is generally not closed, and you can go directly to the rooftop. If you enter through the main entrance, you will be stopped."

"...You quite understand this kind of secretive thing."

"I just thought you were complimenting me." The little girl didn't take it seriously and said with a smile, "In short, this is the highest place in the center of the town. Based on previous experience, as long as I go to a higher place, I will be able to see more clearly.

'The presence of radio waves can be felt everywhere."

"The height..."

Yan Jingxing thought for a while and asked again.

"Then why not go to the mountains? That's the highest altitude place, right?"

"I've tried it before."

Ji Chunzao shook his head.

"As a result, once we got to the mountains, we couldn't receive it at all, probably because we were far away from cities and people."

"Ordinary radios or mobile phones will easily lose signal when they reach the mountains. Is this true?"

"That has something to do with the signal coverage of the broadcast base station. As for why my ability is like this, it may be because alien creatures like to hang out in crowded places."

As she spoke, she had already walked into the door.

"Okay, let's put aside the principles for now, let's go up first."

Walking up the stairs without meeting anyone else, the two of them reached the top floor of the mall smoothly.

Ji Chunzao adjusted her breathing slightly and walked to the center of the rooftop with a serious expression. She folded her hands on her chest, closed her eyes, and began to take a deep breath.

"Uh...is this going to start?"

Yan Jingxing couldn't help but ask, but this time the girl didn't answer him.

Seeing that the atmosphere around her seemed to have changed, he stopped speaking and waited by the door.

It's very quiet on the rooftop, with no noisy people.

What lingers in my ears is the echo left by the howling wind blowing past me.

He crossed his arms and felt a chill down his spine at a certain moment despite the scorching summer heat above his head.

There was a noisy whimpering in the wind...or maybe it was just an illusion.

Yan Jingxing shuddered and looked around, but nothing happened.

He looked at Ji Chunzao in the middle again. The wind blew her skirt and long hair, and the girl was as motionless as a sculpture.

He simply didn't look at anything else and just stared at her without feeling bored at all.

Just like that, after waiting patiently for ten minutes, Ji Chunzao finally made a move.

"...it doesn't seem to work."

She opened her eyes.

"What?"

"A little...feelingless."

Ji Chunzao turned around.

Yan Jingxing was surprised to find that the girl's forehead was sweating and her chest was heaving violently.

She didn't seem to notice this, and was still trying to explain to him what had just happened:

"Actually, this may be my first time trying to 'call' alien creatures in turn, but my intuition tells me that I can do this... It's normal to not be successful..."

Yan Jingxing didn't answer, his eyes fell on her hands involuntarily.

"Jing Xing...why don't you speak?"

Ji Chunzao's body shook slightly. She seemed to feel lost and lowered her head slightly.

"Are you disappointed with me? Please...please don't blame me, I can try again..."

"That was not what I meant!"

Yan Jingxing quickly approached her, feeling anxious.

Of course, he would not blame her for such a small problem, but he noticed something abnormal about the girl.

What exactly happened just now?

"Look at your hands, they are shaking. Don't you feel it?"

Ji Chunzao was slightly startled when she heard this. Her eyes seemed to be staring into space without focus, until then they fell on her.

"Yes, yes, it's really strange. Why...why am I shaking all the time?"

Her lips also began to tremble, and she couldn't even speak clearly.

Yan Jingxing noticed that not only his hands, but Ji Chunzao's entire body seemed to be unsteady on his feet. He hesitated for only a moment, then realized that now was not the time to think about other things, so he immediately opened his arms and hugged her.

As if she had found support, the girl leaned softly on his shoulder. Her mouth was close to his neck, and her hot and moist breath flowed from her pink lips, blowing on his skin, causing a slight itch.

"Let's go sit over there for a while."

After taking several deep breaths, Yan Jingxing tried his best to calm down and helped Ji Chunzao to the shade on the rooftop.

"Sit down and rest for a while first."

The girl nodded, grabbing his arm with both hands, and her body slid down softly, as if all the strength supporting her body had been taken away.

"What's going on?" Yan Jingxing sat next to him and asked in a low voice, "Do you want to go to the hospital? I'll call a car..."

Ji Chunzao shook his head, as if unwilling, but he didn't even have the energy to answer.

His eyes never left her hands, and he found that the trembling on her body never stopped, and even began to spread to her feet, like some kind of neurological symptom.

The two of them were leaning in a very intimate posture, with their arms touching each other. There was a cold and sticky feeling on their skin, which was the cold sweat coming from Ji Chunzao's body.

"Has this happened before?"

Yan Jingxing asked.

"...No. As I said, it's my first time trying..."

After a long silence, Ji Chunzao suddenly denied what he had said.

"wrong."

"ah?"

"I should say, I don't know, I'm not sure. Because my memory of what happened before elementary school is very vague, but my 'superpower' was possessed when I was younger."

"Kindergarten? That's normal if you can't remember."

"That's not the case. Even if you forget most of the things, you can always remember fragmented fragments, right? But for me, recalling everything that happened at that time is like a layer of fog..."

Ji Chunzao's mouth murmured, trembled, and murmured softly.

"I know, I may have lost my memory."

Yan Jingxing blinked.

Amnesia, or a person with superpowers? Is your identity too complicated? It’s almost like the mysterious protagonist in a fictional story.

But under the current situation, Yan Jingxing couldn't open his mouth to joke.

"Maybe I'm feeling scared. Maybe it's not the first time I've called for aliens, but the last call may have had serious consequences, so I feel resistant now... But I can't remember it at all.

Thing of the past."

The wind on the rooftop stopped blowing, and Yan Jingxing could only hear the soft voices of the girls beside him. The flow of time seemed to slow down, and even his breathing became longer.

"Are these all your guesses?"

Yan Jingxing said.

"...Well, it's just a possibility. I've thought about it a lot..."

"Then forget it." He sighed, "Whether it's a guess or not, if you think there is a possibility of danger, don't get close."
