Don't underestimate the J-8 fighter. Although it is still a second-generation aircraft, its technology is much more complex than that of the J-7.

In order to develop and produce the J-8 fighter, hundreds of units across the country collaborated, and the number of parts and components reached more than 10,000.

Therefore, there are many parts and components that are not processed and manufactured in Shenfei, but a considerable number of parts need to be reprocessed in Shenfei.

The final assembly work is even more critical. In the assembly workshop at this time, workers are still assembling completely by hand. And in the summer, you can see that many workers are doing it shirtless and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Management methods such as 7S process.

The manufacturing process of a J-8I fighter jet is very complicated. Without advanced management methods, the defective rate will naturally be very high. Just like the Hongqi sedan back then, some parts had to be processed a hundred times before one could be produced.

Therefore, the cost will naturally remain high. Now the J-8I fighter jet also has this problem.

The qualification rate of the horizontal tail hinge of the J-8I aircraft is relatively low.
