Chapter 36 Half awe

Although the door of the shrine here is wide open, Li Fu still wants to knock on the door.

Sun Xingzhe ignored it and went straight in.

Li Fu had no choice but to follow the introduction.

A few steps away from the courtyard, there is an old man.

There was a bead curtain hanging on this old man's head. When he saw someone coming in, he closed the account to greet him and chanted, "Master, please have a seat."

Li Fu clasped his hands together and returned the gift.

Li Fu followed the old man into the room and saw the statue in the center, which he didn't recognize very well. He didn't know which deity it belonged to.

He complimented the clay sculpture a few times.

The old man calls the boy to offer tea.

In the middle of winter, a cup of hot tea will make your whole body feel comfortable.

He put down his tea cup and asked the old man, "Sir, why is this temple called 'Lishe'?"

The old man replied, "The place where the temple is located is within the borders of Sipan Hafei."

"There was originally a family behind this temple. They shared a pious heart and built this temple here."

"'Li' refers to the land of one village and one mile."

"'She' refers to the god of earthen stoves here."

"This is the origin of the shrine here."

"People nearby are experiencing spring plowing, summer work, autumn harvest, and winter storage."

"I will offer three animals, flowers and fruits here to worship the gods of the society."

"The four seasons are auspicious, the grains are plentiful, and the livestock are luxuriant."

Li Fu couldn't help but nod when he heard this.

Not to mention traveling through previous lives, he had never heard of this custom even in Chang'an City of the Tang Dynasty on Journey to the West.

He said, "As the saying goes, being three miles away from home means nostalgic feelings. The people in my place don't have such customs and habits."

The old man heard this and asked, "Where is Master's fairyland?"

Li Fu replied, "The poor monk is a native of the Tang Dynasty in the East. Under the decree of our emperor, he went to the West to obtain the true scriptures."

He then said, "It's getting late today. I passed by Baofang and came to the holy temple to stay overnight. I want to stay for a night. When the sky lights up, we can leave immediately."

The old man was very happy when he heard the words. He said, "Sometimes you miss the welcome from afar, and sometimes you miss the welcome from afar."

He ordered the boy to prepare fast food.

Li Fu has finished eating, thank you again.

Wukong watched for a while and found it boring.

When he stepped outside the door, he saw a good rope, which is now only used for drying clothes.

He repeatedly praised, "This is a waste of natural resources!"

With a stretch of his monkey paw, he broke the rope, went to the horse, and replaced it with the rope he had randomly twisted with tree bark beside Yingchou Stream.

When the old man saw this scene, he was not angry. He smiled and said, "I wonder where this horse was stolen from?"

When the traveler heard this, his face showed a fierce look, and he said angrily, "You old man, can you speak? We are holy monks going to the west, how can we steal horses?"

With a smile on his face, the old man continued, "Since you said this horse was not stolen, why are the saddle, pedals, and the reins in your hands so rough, as if they were made by a monkey?"

The Fierce Monkey became even angrier after hearing this. He put his hands to his ears and was about to take action immediately.

Li Fu walked out of the house, apologized to the old man and said, "I don't know something, my disciple is naughty and a little irritable. Don't blame me! Don't blame me!"

Li Fu added, "I won't hide my horse from you. It's not stolen."

"I came from the east yesterday and arrived at Yingchou Steep Stream. There was a white horse with all the accessories and decorations."

"Unexpectedly, there was an evil dragon in the stream, which turned into a monster and swallowed up my horse."

"My disciple is very capable and has fought against the evil dragon several times, and was able to crush him."

"Later, I invited Guanyin Bodhisattva to come to the edge of the stream to save the evil dragon and teach it to turn into the shape of the white horse I originally rode, and carry me to the West to obtain scriptures."

"It's just that the saddle and pedals are temporarily missing."

"My disciple, who is very clever and ingenious, took some dead wood from the roadside and made one."

Li Fu pointed to the saddle of the horse and said, "Although it looks ordinary, it is extremely comfortable to sit on."

"Now that we have passed Yingchou Stream, it has not been more than a day. We have arrived at Lao Xian's holy temple, and we have no place to exchange for the skillful craftsman's saddle and horse."

The fiery monkey felt a little ashamed when he heard his master praising him.

The old man said, "Master, don't blame me! I am an old man who likes to talk a lot. Unexpectedly, your disciple has a serious character and I will offend him."

He added, "When I was a child, I also had some money and bought a horse."

"It's just that time flies by and the horse passes away."

"My home suffered another fire, and I was widowed and lonely."

"So I came to the shrine here to serve as a temple worshiper and serve incense."

"Fortunately, the benefactors in the village are virtuous and have provided for us."

"I still have a pair of saddles and bridles here. I take good care of them, maintain them every month, and check the materials every day."

"Even when I was the poorest, I was never willing to sell it."

"However, I heard what the holy monk said today that your horse is the white dragon of the divine dragon who was saved by the Bodhisattva."

"Wherever you come to me, I can't help but give."

"Tomorrow I will fetch the saddle and bridle and give them to the master, begging for a favor."

Li Fu did not refuse after hearing this and thanked him repeatedly.

The old man also sent a boy to serve him for the evening meal.

Li Fu finished his fasting meal.

The traveler held a lamp in his hand, set up a bunk, and rested with Li Fu respectively.

A good night's sleep and an early morning.

As soon as the traveler heard that Li Fu had woken up, he said to him, "Master! The saddle and bridle that Mr. Miao Zhu promised us last night, you just let him take it, don't spare him."

Before Wukong finished speaking, he saw the old man holding up the saddle and bridle and offering it to him.

Li Fu happily accepted it after seeing it.

He taught the traveler to place it on the horse's back to see if it fits properly.

Wukong stepped forward and picked them up one by one to look at them.

It’s really a good thing.

When Wukong saw this dazzling saddle and bridle, he also liked it. It was much better than his random creation.

He was secretly happy and put these things on his horse.

It’s like it’s tailor-made.

Li Fu thanked the old man.

The old man was actually frightened. He helped Li Fu up and said, "Why bother to thank me? Why bother to thank me!"

The old man didn't hold back after saying that. He asked Li Fu to mount his horse.

Li Fu left the Lishe Temple Gate, climbed on the saddle and mounted his horse.

Wukong carries his luggage.

The old man took out a rope whip from his wide sleeves.

I saw that this riding whip was made of fragrant cane as the handle and the tip was tied with tiger tendon.

Even under this winter sun, it still shines brightly.

The old man handed it over and said, "Holy Monk, I still have some arms here, so I'll give them to you together."

Li Fu took it with both hands and said repeatedly, "Thank you for your charity, thank you for your charity."

Thank you unfinished.

The old man suddenly disappeared. When he looked back at the shrine, there was no trace of him.

Only a bare open space remains.

There are still sounds echoing in the air.

"Holy monk, holy monk. I am the mountain god of Luojia Mountain. I am sent by the Bodhisattva to give you a saddle and bridle here."

"The Bodhisattva told you to work hard to go westward and don't be lazy."

Li Fu dismounted and thanked him.

He said in his mouth, "My disciples have mortal eyes and do not recognize the venerable immortals. I hope you will forgive me."

"Please convey this to Bodhisattva. We are deeply blessed and deeply grateful."

Over there, Wukong said, "Master, don't thank these guys who hide their hands and hide their tails."

"They maintain their own identity, don't want to end up, are concerned in their hearts, and pretend to be meaningless."

"When you show kindness, you must reveal your identity and leave traces."
