Chapter 64: The Werewolf

Seeing Wayne so confident, Deacon Ozke didn't say anything more and soon brought the witcher to the workplace of the three missing lumberjacks.

This is not a special place, it is just an ordinary open space on the edge of the forest. However, compared with other lumberjacks' workstations, this location is deeper into the forest.

Perhaps, that's why they'll disappear because of this.

After arriving at the crime scene, Wayne immediately held his breath and used his keen witch hunter senses to start looking for clues around him.

Originally, he thought it would be something undetectable, but in less than ten minutes, he relied on smell and vision to find several scattered logging axes and some messy footprints on the ground in the grass not far away.

At the same time, some fresh blood dripping on the ground also stimulated his sense of smell.

Wayne approached and sniffed it. Apart from the smell of sweat evaporated, there was only a sweet smell like rust.

It is human blood, and the amount is not large. Obviously, someone has been killed or injured among the lumberjacks.

Instead of rushing to search for traces of the lumberjack along the blood, Wayne squatted on the ground and carefully observed the messy footprints.

Soon, he found clues in his footprints. The huge footprints with four fingers sunken, like large beasts, made Wayne eliminate the suspicion of wild bears and wild wolves.

Standing beside Ozke saw footprints larger than a human slap and deep on the ground, and realized that the attack on the lumberjack was a huge ferocious monster.

I couldn't help but ask with some concern:

"Mr. Wayne, can you tell what kind of monster it is?"

Wayne touched his smooth chin, recalling the knowledge he learned from Kelmohan, and said with certainty:

"It was the werewolf who attacked them, but I was a little surprised. What was the reason for this werewolf to attack them?"

"In theory, you lumberjacks who just came here should have nothing to do with them, such cursed creatures."

Ozke obviously didn't know what werewolfs were. He was the confidant who came here from the Southern Kingdom with Revaden. He had only heard of various monsters in the north, but to be honest, he had never seen any of them.

The middle-aged deacon murmured "wewolves" and said:

"Mr. Wayne, are you sure to find the location of this werewolf?"

"Should we go to the city and inform the guards to kill it?"

When Wayne heard this, he glanced at this naive southerner with some amusement. Not to mention the guards in the northern city, he basically would not care about what happened outside the city.

Even if the city hall was in a state of mind, under the pressure of the wealthy businessman Revaden, a team of guards were sent out.

With the werewolf's strong figure as tall as two meters and five, he can tear the sharp claws of ordinary chain mail and strong recovery power that ignores ordinary damage.

Even if all the guards are equipped with silver weapons, unless they are all brave warriors who are fearless, they can only leave a few scars on the werewolf at most.

You know, werewolf is not a brainless water ghost. Even many newborn witch hunters will die at the hands of such cunning and vicious cursed monsters.

It's no wonder that the system will give an evaluation of expert-level tasks.

Fortunately, he had a magic pattern storage bag on his body, and he had everything he needed to deal with the werewolf.

Now there is a master-level silver sword created by Master O'Henry. Wayne is still sure to deal with an ordinary werewolf.

He stood up and said to Deacon Ozke:

"Deacon Ozke, werewolfs are terrifying monsters transformed from cursed humans. You'd better not scatter into the forest until I come back."

"I don't want to have a few more lives when I come back."

Ozke did not dare to neglect the monster expert praised by this boss Revaden, and immediately nodded and said:

"Okay, Mr. Wayne, today I'll arrange for the lumberjacks to get together to deal with the work that doesn't need to go into the forest."

"However, please be careful. You are the boss's friend. If something happens, the boss will not let me go."

Wayne nodded, considering that he had inconvenience to enter the forest to find clues, he gave his mount Lucifer to Ozke for care.

Without any extra greetings, Wayne started work immediately.

He followed the smell of blood and footprints and entered the forest.

Obviously, this werewolf did not have any experience in counter-tracking. Perhaps he had never thought of covering up his footprints, nor did he expect someone to track his position based on the footprints.

About an hour later, Wayne relied on his super-strong sensing to pass through the forest and came to a hunter's hut far away from the small town outside Vigima.

Based on the smell of blood and footprints, Wayne confirmed that the injured lumberjack and werewolf had entered the hut, about half an hour ago.

I just don't know what the situation is now?

However, Wayne did not rush into the house to investigate the situation, but sat cross-legged in a hidden grass outside the house.

He took out the magic pattern storage bag placed close to his body, and carefully took out three bottles of potions, a bottle of sword oil and three alchemy bombs from it.

They are the Thunder potion that increases strength and damage, the Swallow potion that restores injuries, and the Pai Cui's potion that enhances damage to the magic seal.

It’s not that Wayne doesn’t want to give out more, but although his mutation level has reached level 4, drinking three bottles of Demon Hunter Potion at the same time is his current limit.

If you drink one more bottle, it will cause a burden on his body.

However, the level 4 proficiency has reached its peak. In about half a month, his mutation level will reach level 5 and unlock a professional expertise skill.

I believe that by then, he will be able to withstand another bottle of potion and gain other powerful improvements.

Wayne closed his eyes and drank them quickly after enduring the disgusting smell of muddy shit and sweet lard.

During the brief meditation, his body quickly gained a powerful increase under the mobilization of the potion.

The most obvious one is the Thunder Potion. Wayne felt that his strength had been strengthened by about 50%, his muscles were a little swelling, and even the pain was weakened by the strengthening of his strength.

He pulled out the master-level silver sword at his waist, carefully applied a bottle of Curser's sword oil to the sword, and hid another steel sword and scabbard in the grass.

This is a necessary action. Real combat is no better than a game. The extra steel swords and scabbards will not only play any role in the battle, but will instead affect his dodge and attack.

It was not until all the preparations before the battle were ready that Wayne took a light breath, walked out of the hidden grass, and came to the main entrance of the Hunter's Lodge.

It was unwise for him to rush into the narrow hut and fight a huge, thick-skinned monster in a narrow space.

Instead, he shouted:

"You have been exposed in the werewolf in the room."

"I am a witch hunter and I'm here to deal with you. If you have anything else to say, you can come out and talk to me."

Such a shouting was not only to lure the monster out of the house, but also Wayne really wanted to know.

Why did this cursed werewolf run to a logging farm an hour away and attack those lumberjacks whom they had never met.

There was no sound in the room, but Wayne could hear it with a keen hearing. After he shouted, a creature with heavy breathing gradually approached the door.

Wayne was even able to see the tall figure's dense gray hair through the tiny crack in the door.

Just when Wayne felt that this werewolf might be the type who lost his mind and could not speak because of his anger.

A hoarse and angry roar like a beast roared, came from the door.

"Witchhunter, I have heard of your legend, you are the legendary monster killers."

"But this matter is not your business, I am acting for revenge."

"My wife Paula died in the forest, naked, covered in wounds, and blood stained the ground."

"When I found her, she was already dying, and she told me that it was a few lumberjacks who gang-raped her."
