chapter 2
Bai Yan glanced at the food on the table and felt that it was a bit unappetizing. After feeding the golden retriever at home, she found the pocket money she had saved in her room and went out.
Bai Yan's house is quite close to the nearby convenience store. It only takes a few minutes to walk there. Usually this convenience store is guarded by an old lady. The old lady is used to sitting at the door and chatting with the store next door. She only goes in when someone is settling accounts.
But it was unusually deserted today. Bai Yan didn't see the old woman. She pushed open the glass door of the convenience store and stepped in. Bai Yan was slightly startled when he saw the tall figure at the cashier.
It's him!
Gu Shaoan was wearing a loose school uniform and a coat from autumn. It was very new and he had just bought it.
His hair is quite long, reaching roughly halfway to the back of his neck. His slender fingers are playing with a pen, while his other hand is holding a book, and his thigh is slightly leaning against the old table of the cashier.
Bai Yan deliberately coughed slightly, attracting Gu Shaoan's attention.
Gu Shaoan turned around sharply. After seeing clearly that it was Bai Yan, a curiosity that was hard to catch flashed in his eyes.
Bai Yan raised his eyebrows slightly and asked coldly: "Why are you here?"
Not sure if Gu Shaoan was still unhappy about what happened at school during the day, he responded without raising his eyes: "What does it have to do with you."
The angry person now became Bai Yan, but she suppressed her temper as she thought of the dream she had realized before.
As usual, Bai Yan took a bucket of tomato-flavored instant noodles and ham, then walked to the transparent refrigerator for cold drinks and took a bottle of Coke from inside.
After buying everything, Bai Yan walked to the cashier, put the items on the cashier table, and started to take pocket money out of his pocket.
"Eight and a half dollars." The moment Gu Shao'an said the price, Bai Yan put the money on the table at the same time, just enough for eight and a half dollars.
Gu Shaoan pulled a plastic bag from the hook under the cashier and put everything in it.
Bai Yan picked up the plastic bag and left, but when she was about to push open the glass door and go out, she suddenly stopped.
Bai Yan turned around and couldn't help but asked curiously: "We haven't met before, have we?"
He responded: "No."
As soon as he finished speaking, the glass door slammed shut, and Bai Yan's petite figure disappeared from Gu Shaoan's sight.
—
At night, Bai Yan had another dream.
The scene in the dream was in a classroom, which was the same as in real life. Bai Yan squinted for two classes and was half asleep and half awake the whole time.
It's strange that I can sleep in my dreams.
It wasn't until the big class break that Bai Yan was completely awakened by the noise around her. She seemed to hear Mo Wenwen's voice.
"The newly transferred boy, can you look at people when you walk? Are you blind?"
"Someone hit me just now."
"I don't care what your reasons are. I've been displeased with you since yesterday. Don't leave after school. Just wait for me!"
Bai Yan tried very hard to raise her head, but the moment she looked at the front door of the classroom, she woke up from her dream.
The bedroom was very bright, Bai Yan looked at the time, it was almost seven o'clock.
She recalled the contents of her dream, and her thoughts were very confused.
Bai Yan didn't think long before he got up. Dong Gu was always much more hurried than usual in cleaning up.
She wanted to go to school to confirm something and see if her dreams could be predicted.
–
When Bai Yan arrived at the classroom, there were still many classmates who had not arrived, but Gu Shaoan had already arrived.
Seeing her coming so early, the classmates in the classroom all showed surprised expressions.
She sat down directly and glanced at Gu Shaoan's back diagonally in front of her. He was still wearing an autumn coat and his back was very straight.
From this angle, you can just see the water cup Gu Shaoan is holding in his hand. It is a transparent glass cup filled with steaming water.
A girl in the front row took the initiative to talk to Gu Shaoan: "New classmate, why are you wearing such thick clothes if you're not hot?"
Gu Shaoan lazily turned his eyes and responded: "It will rain this afternoon."
Later, it gradually turned into an awkward conversation. The girl could tell that he didn't want to chat, so she left wisely.
After class, Bai Yan tried his best to listen to the class, but within half of the class, his eyelids were fighting until he couldn't open his eyes.
Bai Yan put her elbows on the table and put her hands on her chin to support her head. She tried hard not to fall asleep, but in the end she couldn't hold on and fell down on the table, falling into a half-asleep and half-awake state.
During the class break, it was as if the dream was replayed. Bai Yan was awakened by the noise around her, but this time Bai Yan woke up quickly. She almost raised her head suddenly and looked forward with wide eyes.
Mo Wenwen seemed to have been stepped on. At this moment, she was holding the corner of the table of the classmates in the front row with one leg on the ground.
Sure enough, the next second Bai Yan heard the words he had heard in his dream, "That new boy here, can you look at people when you walk? Are you blind?"
At this moment, the class representative suddenly burst into Bai Yan's sight.
Bai Fan frowned impatiently. The boy in front of him had a gentle appearance, a thin face, and a bit of a girly tone when he spoke, "Sister Yan, haven't you done your homework yet? The teacher asked me to hurry you up and say that if you don't turn it in, you will lose credits.
"
Because of the loud voice of the class representative, she did not hear the subsequent conversation clearly. Bai Yan glared at the class representative impatiently, raised his lips and uttered one word, "Get out."
When the class representative saw this, he put away his good expression and walked away.
When Bai Yan moved his attention again, Mo Wenwen was no longer visible at the front door of the classroom.
Even though he didn't hear what was said clearly, Bai Yan was sure that he seemed to have the ability to predict things.
But why are the two predicted dreams related to Gu Shaoan?
There was a boy who entered the classroom with Gu Shao'an, and it was he who bumped into Gu Shao'an's shoulder just now, which caused Gu Shao'an to step on Mo Wenwen's foot.
The boy blamed himself and was cowardly. He put his arm on Gu Shao'an's shoulder and came up with an idea as he walked: "Classmate, why don't you change classes? Anyway, you have only been in our school for two days, so you should get better."
Gu Shaoan thought for a while and responded: "It's not that serious, so I won't have to change classes."
Boy: "I'm not afraid of Mo Wenwen, but mainly because of Bai Yan in our class. She seems to have some skills. I heard that a boy was beaten by her when I was a freshman in high school."
Later, Gu Shaoan stopped answering.
When the school bell rang at noon, Bai Yan stopped pretending to be asleep.
Seeing Bai Yan raise her head, Mo Wenwen immediately hugged her arm and complained aggrievedly: "Yanyan, I was bullied, you must support me."
Bai Yan pretended not to know anything about what happened between classes. She turned to look at Mo Wenwen and asked without any expression on her face: "Who bullied you?"
Next, Mo Wenwen told the story with added detail.
If it hadn't been for last night's dream, Bai Yan would have been furious at this moment. He didn't have to wait until school was over in the afternoon, he could go to the cafeteria and find Gu Shao'an to vent his anger on Mo Wenwen.
But now her thoughts were very confused and she couldn't get angry at all. In the end, she just responded to Mo Wenwen perfunctorily.
It did rain in the afternoon, but it was just a light drizzle. The ground was only wet at all levels, and there were no rain puddles.
The rain stopped just before school was about to end. Some students in the class opened the windows. The cool wind woke up Bai Yan's thoughts. She glanced at the clock next to the blackboard. There were still ten minutes left for get out of class to end.
Bai Yan turned his head slightly and found that Mo Wenwen next to him was staring at Gu Shao'an's back, his eyes seemed to be able to peel off the skin of Gu Shao'an in the next second.
After school, Gu Shaoan was slowly doing papers without any intention of getting up.
After about five minutes, there were not many students in the classroom. Mo Wenwen could no longer suppress her irritable mood, and she stabbed Gu Shaoan hard on the shoulder with a pen.
Gu Shaoan stopped writing, and then began to sort out the test papers like a doormat. He stuffed all the textbooks and test papers into his schoolbag and stood up.
However, before Gu Shaoan took two steps, he was stopped by Mo Wenwen, "Newcomer, stop! Did I let you go?"
The other students in the class all looked at them.
Gu Shaoan stopped and waited quietly for the coming storm.
What he didn't expect was that within a few seconds, Bai Yan's cold voice suddenly sounded in the quiet classroom, "Please apologize to my deskmate."
Mo Wenwen looked at Bai Yan in surprise, so shocked that his eyes nearly popped out.
Even Gu Shaoan was stunned for a moment.
If Bai Yan just wanted Gu Shao'an to apologize, others would completely understand. After all, Bai Yan's own aura was so strong that he could scare them just by standing in front of his classmates.
But she used honorifics when she spoke just now...
Gu Shaoan turned around, his eyes first fell on Bai Yan, but he quickly moved away.
Gu Shaoan looked at Mo Wenwen, who was still in a state of confusion, and said, "I'm sorry about what happened in the morning."
Mo Wenwen came back to her senses and glared at Gu Shaoan, then angrily turned over the table in the back row and left through the back door of the classroom.
Mo Wenwen was walking quite slowly. She was just waiting for Bai Yan to follow. Sure enough, when she reached the corner of the stairs, she caught sight of Bai Yan's figure behind her.
Mo Wenwen then stepped down the steps with confidence.
Bai Yan trotted to catch up, grabbed Mo Wenwen's arm very gently, and began to explain: "I have been in a bad state for the past two days, and I don't want to cause trouble."
Mo Wen's anger dissipated instantly. She was aware of Bai Yan's family situation and mistakenly thought it was a family matter.
"I forgive you, but you have to treat me to dinner to comfort my weak heart." After speaking, Mo Wenwen hugged Bai Yan's arm, and her expression changed very quickly.
Bai Yan readily agreed: "No problem."
–
Bai Yan didn't have any more dreams in the next two days, and Mo Wenwen didn't bother Gu Shao'an anymore. Life seemed to be as normal as before.
Until about nine o'clock this evening, Bai Yan passed by the entrance of a convenience store when she was out walking her dog. She had no intention of staying, but her eyes were attracted by the figure inside the convenience store, so she took a few more glances.
Gu Shaoan was currently sorting things on the shelves with one hand and holding a book in the other hand. From time to time, he would lower his head and take a look.
More than half an hour later, when Bai Yan passed by the convenience store again on her way back, she happened to bump into Gu Shaoan who was coming out after turning off the lights. She looked at him uncontrollably.
Gu Shaoan locked the glass door and turned around, and happened to meet Bai Yan's eyes.
Bai Yan's pupils shrank, and his nerves were inexplicably tense for a few seconds.
Immediately afterwards, the two of them were brought back from their thoughts by the barking of the golden retriever. They didn't know what the dog saw, and suddenly ran towards Gu Shao'an like crazy.
