Chapter 55 The Roommate's Departure(2/2)

Xia Tian walked over doubtfully and followed their gazes to look in.

The counselor was in the room, along with an older woman and a boy who looked like high school students. They were packing Xiaoqian's belongings.

Boys would occasionally ask her: "Do you want this?"

The older woman tucked her greasy hair behind her ears and shook her head.

"You're back." Yangyang said hoarsely.

"What's going on..." Xia Tian found that the eyes of Yangyang and Jin Yan were filled with tears, "...what's wrong?"

Yangyang couldn't help it anymore, covering her mouth and sobbing softly. When the woman in the room heard the sound and turned around, she hurried into the bedroom next door.

"Sister Tian'er, Xiaoqian is dead!" Jin Yan whispered in her ear, "Those are Xiaoqian's mother and brother."

Xia Tian met Jin Yan's eyes that were red from crying and asked in shock: "What did you say?"

Jin Yan gently wiped away the tears that rolled down her face with the back of her hand, nodded and said, "He is really dead. There was a car accident before school started. No one died a few days ago."

Xia Tian suddenly understood that Senior Shi should have known about this matter in advance, so he said such words to himself when they parted in the morning.

But this fact was so heavy that she couldn't accept it for a while.

Her chest was so tight that she could hardly breathe. It felt like she was hit in the heart by a thousand-ton boulder. She could hardly bear it, and her body slowly moved backwards until her whole body was leaning against the cold wall.

Xiaoqian's mother and brother each dragged a large suitcase out of the dormitory. Xiaoqian didn't have many things because she had brought some of them back before the winter vacation.

But Xia Tian thought that maybe they had thrown away some before she came back, because they didn't see the bedding, the wooden bed boards were exposed on the bed, and the original mattress was missing.

"The New Year's gift Xiaoqian gave you, I put it on my desk. I often heard her say that you have a very good relationship. Thank you very much for accompanying her through the happy college...time...time..." The tears just happened.

Tears flowed from her eyes. With the support of her son, she hunched over and disappeared around the corner with heavy steps.

I could also hear intermittent crying, the scraping of the small wheel at the bottom of the suitcase on the steps, and the ineffective comfort from the counselor.

After a while, nothing was heard. They should have left the dormitory building.

When Xia Tian took a step forward, she found that her legs were numb.

Jin Yan picked up a gift box and asked in a low voice: "I didn't write the name, which one is mine?"

Yangyang came back, she closed the door, walked slowly to Jin Yan, looked at the gift boxes one by one, and said sadly: "Open them all, let's take a guess."

Xia Tian still couldn't accept it and couldn't cry. She raised her hand and touched the rough wooden board. The wood thorns scratched her palm, giving her a slight stinging sensation.
