Chapter 22 The New Victim(1/2)
Chapter 22 New Victims
"Guys, I have good news and bad news, which one do you want to hear first?" Harry came forward with a playful smile.
Lawrence threw him a cigarette: "Bad news, I don't want to be happy first and then unhappy."
"It makes sense." Harry nodded: "Just an hour ago, the victim of the third home invasion and rape case appeared, and the deputy team led others to investigate the scene."
"What?"
Dean and Lawrence were surprised when they heard the news.
The first case of home invasion, rape and murder occurred more than half a month ago, and the second case occurred the day before yesterday. Everyone thought that the murderer would do the same thing as before and would give them some buffer time.
The current results were obviously beyond their expectations.
"Now we are in trouble. Continuous crimes will make everyone around us panic, and we will also face a lot of pressure." Lawrence took a deep breath of cigarette, with a sad look on his face.
Dean looked at Harry: "Harry, tell me the good news."
"The good news is that I got the information about the supermarket security guards." Harry leaned against the wall, lit a cigarette and took a deep breath: "If you suspect that they are the murderers, you may be overly worried. I received news from Phoebe.
The time of occurrence of the three cases has been determined to be around 10 o'clock last night. Those security guards lived in the dormitories provided by the security company and had no time to commit the crimes."
"FK, Harry, this is just two pieces of bad news!" Lawrence cursed secretly and looked at Dean: "Let's go, as a qualified police detective, you must also learn how to investigate crime scenes."
Dean nodded and followed Lawrence.
Harry was unhappy.
He stopped at the door of the office with a pitiful expression: "Guys, it's too late for you to go there now. Maybe the deputy team and the people from the forensic department have come back. The key is, can you bear to keep me here alone?
?”
"Get out of here, Harry, your expression makes me sick."
Lawrence made a vomiting motion, pushed Harry away, and quickly grabbed Dean and ran away.
"Dean." Harry still refused to give up and looked at Dean pitifully.
He doesn't want to go to jail in the office.
The only thing that greeted him was Dean's middle finger
Leave the detective station.
Lawrence hung up the phone with his deputy, Old Hunter, and turned to look at Dean, who was sitting in the passenger seat: "The crime scene was in Ian's community. Just like before, it's also an old community."
"Ian's neighborhood?"
Dean lowered his head and pulled out a map of downtown Los Angeles from under his body.
moment.
His brows furrowed.
The three crime scenes form a triangle on the map.
In urban Los Angeles, there are many cameras in public areas.
Consider departure time and concealment.
The murderer's residence is most likely within this triangular area.
However, this area is not close to Ruos Gym. Instead, it is within the radiation range of Sam's Supermarket. Could it be that the murderer really picked his prey at Sam's Supermarket?
"What did you find?"
Lawrence controlled the car and nimbly weaved in and out of traffic.
Dean put away the map: "The three crime scenes are not very far away. I suspect the murderer lives in a community in this area."
"How big is the scope?"
“It’s not big.
Including the three communities where murders occurred, there are only five communities in total.
So I feel very strange.
The security here is not very good, and many residents install cameras outside their houses.
The murderer chose nearby targets to attack, so the possibility of being exposed is very high, which is inconsistent with the criminal psychological analysis we previously conducted on him."
Dean sighed.
The more clues there are.
The more confused he felt, the more confused he became.
Solving crimes is much harder than being a scavenger.
"Haha, rookie, this is solving a case. What we can do is every time we find a clue, no matter whether it is reliable or not, verify it one by one, and finally find a possible breakthrough."
Lawrence looked reckless, but in fact he was attentive. He noticed Dean's change in mood and spoke to comfort him.
Dean nodded and said nothing.
The two came to the crime scene.
This has almost been dealt with.
Old Hunter and others have left, but Phoebe and Robert from the other group are still here. In addition, there are many reporters and onlookers gathered outside the cordon maintained by the patrolmen, who have been reluctant to leave for a long time.
Lawrence took Dean and did not go in directly. Instead, he stood outside the crowd and observed the onlookers carefully. At the same time, he taught Dean: "Dean, the iconic murderer, often returns to the scene of the crime.
Some are for clearing evidence.
Some are to observe police detectives’ investigations and speculate on the police’s next move.
Some have narcissistic paranoid personalities who try to gain satisfaction and excitement from the panic of the masses and the reaction of the police.
Some criminals with high IQs will even take the initiative to provide help, enjoying abnormal pleasure while guiding the direction of solving the case."
Dean listened carefully.
These are all knowledge that he has never been exposed to before.
However, the faces of these onlookers were either curious or uneasy, and the faces of the reporters were even more excited. Dean could not see anything unusual at all.
He turned to look at Lawrence: "Lawrence, how are you? Did you find anything?"
"No, let's go up."
Lawrence shook his head, showed his ID to the patrolman guarding Dean, and entered the courtyard.
Before entering the house, the two put on gloves and foot covers.
Inside the house, Phoebe is teaching Robert some surveying techniques.
Hear movement.
The two stopped.
"How's it going? How many clues did you find this time?"
Lawrence took Dean and asked Phoebe about the survey results.
"There are some new discoveries." An angry look appeared on Phoebe's face: "This time the murderer was even more cruel. The deceased's lower body was badly damaged, and the murderer even left some unknown red substance inside!"
This is provocation!
"Nothing else?"
"No." Phoebe shook her head: "The same method of breaking into the house, the same criminal habits. The murderer carefully cleaned the room with a vacuum cleaner after committing the crime. The newly discovered red substance in the victim's body also needs to be tested. We only need to test it now.
I can look forward to some fruitful fishing in the evening.”
"This feeling is really unpleasant."
Lawrence's face trembled.
Things are not good now.
Continuous successful crimes often make the murderer swell, and then become even more crazy and perverted.
The other side.
After Dean saw that the content of the conversation between the two was not nutritious, he simply followed his previous criminal habits and combined the investigation knowledge he learned in the police academy to conduct an investigation at the scene.
When it comes to surveying the scene, he is just a rookie.
But when it comes to cleaning up the traces of crime, Dean is very sophisticated.
Generally, the traces left behind in housebreaking and killing are mainly in the aspects of housebreaking, fingerprints, hair, shoe prints, and methods of killing.
Dean followed this idea and started his first survey.
This kind of old courtyard usually has a lot of window glass for lighting, especially in the living room close to the courtyard.
The murderer came in through the sliding door of the yard.
Use a tool to make a circular hole about the size of your arm on the lock, then reach out and open the lock.
Follow the traces.
