034 Charcoal Poison

The man with a jade-like face wore a moon-white brocade cloak, and underneath was a purple four-clawed python robe inlaid with silver.

His figure is slightly thin, and his eyes are as gentle and smooth as the moonlight.

He was holding two military books with yellowed pages in his hands. They should be rare ancient books privately collected by the Zhenguo General's Mansion. He was here to return the books.

The man in purple walked slowly and steadily toward the bookshelf inside, and stopped when he reached the place where the military books were originally stored.

His slender fingers slowly opened the book next to him and stuffed the ancient book inside.

Suddenly, through the undulating gaps in the books, he caught a glimpse of a woman sitting by the window, leaning against the wall with her eyes closed to meditate.

The man was startled and wanted to leave immediately.

But then, he faintly smelled a dull smell of charcoal.

He frowned, paused slightly, waved his cloak and stepped forward to investigate.

The woman was leaning against the wall with her arms folded and her head resting in front of the window. Her expression was peaceful, as if she had fallen asleep, but there was an abnormal blush on her face, as if she was ill.

The man turned around and saw two purple-gold cauldrons standing at her feet. Heat was continuously coming out of the cauldrons, and the smell of charcoal became stronger and even pungent.

He saw the woman's appearance clearly and couldn't help but shook his head slightly.

First, the two charcoal-burning cauldrons were moved away, and then the windows were opened. The cool breeze swept in from the windows, causing a desolate chill.

But the woman just curled her body up tighter, frowned and muttered twice, and then continued to sleep.

The man waited until the dull and dizzying smell of charcoal was gone from the room, and then he closed the window slightly, fearing that the wind would blow the pane open and wake her up. After thinking about it, he took something from the food box next to her.

A piece of pastry was caught in the crack of the window.

After doing this, he was about to move when he suddenly heard the woman sneezing in her sleep.

After all, he softened his heart, hesitated for a while, and finally took off his moon-white cloak and gently put it on the woman, and then left the library without looking back.

After a while, Cui Ling woke up. Of course, she was woken up by the cold.

She stared sleepily at the cloak on her body for a long time, until she woke up and found that this exquisitely crafted moon-white cloak seemed too wide and resembled a man's style. She suddenly felt like she had seen a ghost.

Jumped up as if.

She scratched her head and thought about what had just happened for a long time, but nothing came to her mind.

Cui Ling was a little crazy. She read in the library every day with the permission of the old lady and Princess Yining.

Because studying requires quiet time, Hibiscus would leave immediately after sending her here every day, and would not pick her up again until just before lunch.

During this period, she was alone in the library.

Princess Yining had spoken, and the boy in charge of the library knew that the Fifth Grandma was coming to study, so he would always avoid it.

The Library Pavilion was originally the private place of the Yuan family, and no one from the guards in the outer courtyard dared to come over at will.

Theoretically speaking, at this point in time, it was impossible for anyone else to enter here except her, so she just fell asleep with such ease and peace of mind.

But the man's cloak that she shook to the ground clearly announced that someone had been here just now, and it was a man!

Cui Ling almost burst into tears in worry and frustration.

It's not that she felt that she was being taken advantage of. In fact, she had carefully inspected her body and found that her clothes were intact and there was no trace of any indecency or molestation. She believed that the man who covered her with a cloak had only good intentions.

.

But the problem is, she is a married woman!

Not long ago, Yuan Wulang warned her nakedly in a letter to keep women's ethics in mind. Although she sneered at this, if the cloak under her feet was seen, she would really jump into the Yellow River.

It can't be cleaned either.

Cui Ling knew very well that she had no feelings for her natal family, Uncle Anning. In fact, Uncle Anning's mansion was not her strong backing. If she was despised by the Yuan family, her natal family, who had no support, would not be able to speak out about it.

If she is in the wrong, she will have to live in the future!

She thought about it and decided to destroy the evidence immediately.

There was a blue and white porcelain painting vat standing in the corner of the room. Cui Ling kicked the cloak all the way to the vat with his feet, then picked up the cloak with his fingertips and threw it in with disgust.

In order to ensure that it was not exposed, she also used scrolls to push the clothes inside, and then arranged the scrolls neatly.

After finishing all this in one go, she breathed a sigh of relief.

After all this, she felt a little disheartened.

So I picked a few miscellaneous books from the bookshelf, put them in the almost empty food box, and started to go back.

Originally, she had to come here to study because she was afraid of hearing the old lady telling her over and over again about Yuan Wulang's childhood in Tai'an Courtyard. But now, since the library is no longer safe, she still behaves obediently.

It's better to go back to your own house.

No matter what, it is better to listen to Yuan Wulang's deeds than to be suspected of secretly giving and receiving.

As soon as Cui Ling came out of the library door, she saw Yuan Dalang. She greeted Yuan Dalang with a busy smile, "Brother, are you here to look for books?"

She likes Yuan Dalang very much.

Although Yuan Dalang was tall and powerful, a bit like the copycat king she had seen in TV series in his previous life, he had a gentle personality, a delicate mind, and was very tolerant and kind to her.

Perhaps it was because she lacked fatherly love in both her lifetimes that Yuan Dalang, who was about the same age as Cui Chengkai, became a source of sustenance for her admiration for her father.

Yuan Dalang also likes Cui Ling very much. In addition to being good-looking, this new fifth sibling is also very similar to his beloved daughter Yue'er. She has a similar temperament and similar speech. Even her reckless energy is similar.

He hasn't seen his beloved daughter for a long time and misses her very much.

Naturally, he passed on his longing for Yue'er to his fifth younger brother and sister.

When he looked at his five younger siblings, he always felt like he was looking at his own daughter.

It was precisely because of this goodwill and concern that he rushed over as soon as he heard the news.

Yuan Dalang was worried but tried his best to pretend that nothing was wrong. He forced a smile and said, "Yes, I came here to find a book. Are the fifth younger siblings going back to Tai'an Yuan? Why isn't there a little girl following me?"

Cui Ling blinked and said helplessly, "The weather is cold, and it's cool in the library, but it's still warm in Tai'an Courtyard. I thought about it and took the book back and read it. Anyway, I'm not a scholar who is in a hurry to study.

You don’t need the experience of studying hard in a cold window.”

She paused and said, "It was a spur-of-the-moment idea. Before I told the girl, Hibiscus thought I would go back later."

Yuan Dalang thought for a while, then pretended to be casual and said, "If you feel cold, just burn a few more pots of charcoal. Our family can't afford it. After all, it's better to study in a quiet place. A quiet place like the library is also good.

No one will bother you."
