Chapter 247: The Art of War Beyond the Art of War
After hearing what Li Mengxi said, Liu Bei took a closer look and thought that the Thirteen Outlines of the Art of War were no longer thirteen isolated words that were difficult to remember, but were connected up and down.
Instantly, the difficulty of memorizing was reduced several times.
No wonder Li Mengxi could memorize such a difficult task. It turned out that he didn't know the knack. Liu Bei sighed with emotion.
On the side, Guan Yu, who was holding a torch to illuminate Liu Bei, looked at Li Mengxi squatting on the ground in great surprise.
Guan Yu had already mastered the art of war. He really didn't expect that there was a mystery hidden in the general outline.
God, when people read military books, they study the art of war in them. Who studies the catalogue?
The so-called Gang Ju Mu Zhang, perhaps the most concise essentials of the Art of War, is hidden in the table of contents of the Thirteenth Chapter of the Art of War.
Before the war begins, [begin to calculate] the enemy's and our own military strength, [prepare for battle], and then [plan to attack].
When it comes to battle, it is most necessary to observe the enemy's [Military Form], and less important is to observe the enemy's [Military Strength]. Then, one can know the enemy's [Factory and Reality], and when the battle begins, it is [Military Struggle] between the enemy and ourselves.
Victory or defeat is decided in one battle, but the battle may not end.
Now, there are [nine changes] in the celestial phenomena, [the march] needs to be observed, [the terrain] is complex, and there are [nine places] that need to be discussed.
If you fail to defeat the enemy, you can consider [Fire Attack]. If you still fail, you can use [Time].
The thirteen chapters of "Sun Tzu" are linked up and down in the outline, which is a complete war from beginning to end.
After Guan Yu thought about it carefully, he was inexplicably shocked.
Sun Tzu's entire work has more than 6,000 words to read. There are many people in the world who study the art of war. Who has ever studied in detail only a few words in the outline?
Guan Yu followed the train of thought opened by Li Mengxi and continued to think, and came up with unexpected gains.
Guan Yu sighed with emotion. He had been familiar with the art of war for more than ten years. He thought he had already read the art of war to pieces, but he didn't want to learn something new today.
The profound meaning hidden in the thirteen items of the Outline may be the art of war beyond the art of war in "Sun Tzu".
Guan Yu was shocked again, not for the first time.
Li Mengxi actually didn't think so. In order to facilitate his memory, he looked at the outline from top to bottom, and the semantics seemed to have some development and extension. Then, when he didn't know the details of the art of war, he simply based on the literal meaning of the outline, he wrote the Thirteen
An outline, thirteen words, divided into several small pieces according to similar semantics, the purpose is also to facilitate memory.
This shows the power of Chinese characters. Sun Tzu's Art of War created many Chinese characters. After more than two thousand years of circulation, the meaning of the words is still the same. This allowed Li Mengxi, who traveled two thousand years forward, to understand the thirteen chapters of "Sun Tzu".
The outline is not difficult at all.
Moreover, Li Mengxi was able to find the connection between the words by accident by relying on his sense of language without even studying it deeply and without realizing it.
The rest is all Guan Yu's imagination.
"Mr.
"Humans have five senses and five senses. When remembering, if only one sense is used, the speed is twice as fast; if all five senses are used together, the speed is five times.
When memorizing, the three senses of sight, speech, and handwriting are used together, and the memory is fast, so you might as well try reading it aloud."
Li Mengxi hates memorizing, but no matter how much he hates it, from kindergarten to junior high school, teachers have been teaching memorization methods.
Thanks to teachers, kindergarten teachers, and elementary school teachers. It turns out that any bit of knowledge is really gold and silver and priceless wealth.
Just because Liu Bei never went to kindergarten, let’s see, he can’t endorse it.
With the help of Li Mengxi and the others, Liu Bei soon memorized the thirteen outlines of the Art of War.
After all, there are not many words, so it would not be difficult for Liu Bei to memorize it without any psychological pressure.
The outline was finished, but Liu Bei was still unfinished and couldn't wait to let Guan Yu start teaching the two men the main text of the art of war.
When he looked up, Liu Bei saw that Guan Yu was in a daze. He didn't know what Guan Yu was thinking.
"Yun Chang?" Liu Bei called in a low voice.
"Oh." Guan Yu was shocked and asked Liu Bei with a smile, "Brother, have you finished remembering it?"
"I've finished remembering it," Liu Bei replied.
——
The first of thirteen chapters, the main text that Li Mengxi was looking forward to is here.
Since he discovered that fighting is not a simple matter, Li Mengxi's dream of leading a hundred thousand cavalry to sweep the world has been half extinguished.
To become a famous general, you have to learn a lot of things.
Guan Yu had his legs crossed, one hand was flat on his knees, and the other was stroking his long beard. He was sitting upright like a sculpture. Guan Yu's pair of red phoenix eyes scanned the three people opposite him, and he said in a serious voice: "The first chapter, [The Beginning Plan], the rest
The text is:
Soldiers are important matters of the country, the place of life and death, and the path to survival. We must pay attention to them.
Therefore, the scriptures are based on five things, calibrated by calculation, and their emotions: the first is called Tao, the second is called Heaven, the third is called Earth, the fourth is called General, and the fifth is called Dharma. The Taoist can be killed if the people agree with it.
, can live with it without fear of danger; heaven refers to yin and yang, cold and heat, and the time system; earth refers to distance, danger, narrowness, life and death; general refers to wisdom, faith, benevolence, courage, and strictness
The law, the system, the official way, and the master's use. All generals must hear these five. Those who know it will win, and those who don't know will not win. Therefore, they are based on calculations, and their feelings are asked: Which one has the right way?
Who is the general capable? Who has the heaven and the earth? Who can carry out the laws? Who among the soldiers is strong?
Who are the soldiers trained? Who are the rewards and punishments? This is how I know the outcome. If the generals listen to my plan, they will win if they use them, so keep them; if they don't listen to my plans, if they use them, they will lose, so get rid of them.
The purpose of planning and listening is to use force to support the outside. Those who are powerful control power because of benefit. Soldiers are also deceitful. Therefore, they can show their inability to use it, use it to show that they are not using it, and show their closeness to show their distance.
, show what is near by showing it from a distance, lure it by profit, take it by chaos, prepare it by actual strength, avoid it by being strong, offend it by being angry, be arrogant by being humble, work by losing it, stay away from it by getting close to it, and attack it when it is useless.
Be prepared to catch the enemy by surprise. The victory of this military strategist cannot be passed down first.
If there is no battle but the temple is considered the winner, it must be counted as more; if there is no battle but the temple is not the winner, it must be counted as less. More is the winner, less is the loser, and what is more, nothing is counted! I look at it this way, and I can see the victory or defeat.
That’s it.”
Guan Yu recited the Art of War in one breath, with cadences and rhythms, and his voice was like a bell.
"Okay!" Li Mengxi couldn't help but cheer and clapped.
When Li Mengxi clapped, his younger brother didn't know what his elder brother was doing, but when his elder brother clapped, he also imitated the applause.
Even Liu Bei nodded and praised Guan Yu, "Yun Chang is proficient in the art of war, which shows that he has worked hard."
This chapter is not finished yet, please click on the next page to continue reading the exciting content! Guan Yu was a little embarrassed to be praised.
At this time, Li Mengxi finished clapping and had only one thing on his mind.
Such a long paragraph is still the classical Chinese of his, or the ancient classical Chinese of his Spring and Autumn Period. How is it possible to memorize it all?
Fortunately, Guan Yu also knew how to read it, so he didn't ask the two of them to memorize it immediately, but started to explain it word for word.
Guan Yu: "The first sentence is, [Soldiers are important matters of the country, the place of life and death, and the way of survival. We must pay attention to them.]"
The first sentence at the beginning is the only sentence Li Mengxi knew before he learned the art of war from Guan Yu.
Li Mengxi pondered: "If you are willing to fight, you will perish; if you forget to fight, you will be in danger.
All things are born, and all things compete with each other.
Even though the sky is vast and the earth is vast, there are always limits, and the growth of things is endless, and there will eventually be a time when the mountains and rivers are exhausted. Therefore, if one clan is strong, another clan will decline.
This is called natural selection and survival of the fittest.
Neither the strong must live nor the weak must die.
Although tigers and wolves are strong, they cannot spread their wings; although insects and ants are weak, they can still ride on the wind. Tigers, wolves, insects and ants, which one is weak and which one is strong?
So...well."
Li Mengxi suddenly stopped talking.
Liu Bei and Guan Yu were listening intently. When Li Mengxi stopped, they all looked at him.
Li Mengxi felt uncomfortable being looked at, so he had to touch his nose and look at it with his eyes.
Meow, the original meaning is that competition will always exist, and giving up competition is equivalent to giving up the right to survive.
To explain in this way, the war capability of the human race is its ability to survive.
Therefore, races that are not good at war will eventually be eliminated.
Li Mengxi wanted to provide circumstantial evidence that Sun Tzu's words, "Soldiers are the most important thing in the country, and the place of life and death" is correct.
But once I say it, I don’t care and shut up.
Let’s talk about the theory of evolution.
Natural selection and survival of the fittest are the content of the Theory of Natural Evolution, which is the theory of evolution translated by scholars in the Republic of China.
"Why didn't Xi'er say anything anymore?" Guan Yu was still not satisfied with what he heard and wanted to hear Li Mengxi continue talking.
"Today is to learn the art of war from General Guan, not anything else, and it is not the time for me to show off my words." Li Mengxi reflected on himself, "General Guan, continue talking."
Li Mengxi reflected on himself. When studying military art, he just followed others and why did he go to other places?
Still disturbed by Li Mengxi, Guan Yu stopped talking about the art of war and began to discuss the Tao Te Ching with Liu Bei. One life is two, two is three, and three is all things.
