Chapter 5 The road sees injustice(1/2)
Chapter 5 The road is rough
The sound of the door being locked was heard.
Jiang Peng sighed, looking at the watch screen with several cracks, a deep feeling of powerlessness arose spontaneously.
I don't know since when, the distance between him and his daughter has become wider and wider.
Jiang Peng held the watch, sat on the sofa, and lit up the screen with his finger.
The watch is the latest smart watch. He remembers once seeing Jiang Xiaohu searching for this watch online and liking it very much.
After it came on the market, Jiang Peng bought one and planned to give it to Jiang Xiaohu as a surprise. On the screen of the watch, there was a photo of him and Jiang Xiaohu.
Looking at this group photo, Jiang Peng fell into memories.
Bits and pieces of the past slowly emerge, including bitterness, laughter, but mostly exhaustion. Only those in the game know the suffering of a single-parent family.
Putting the watch carefully into his pocket, Jiang Peng stood up, found some ointment and cooling oil and placed them in front of Jiang Xiaohu's door.
Jiang Peng was on Li'an Street today. He lost control of his anger and slapped Jiang Xiaohu.
Although Jiang Xiaohu was rebellious, he had been taught by himself since childhood to distinguish right from wrong and knew what he could do and what he could not do. Jiang Peng asked himself that Jiang Xiaohu would not do something like taking drugs.
But Jiang Peng was really angry at that time, and Jiang Xiaohu contradicted him.
I made a mistake in the heat of the moment. Looking back now, I feel heartbroken and blame myself.
Knocking lightly on the door, Jiang Peng said softly: "Xiaohu, I left some medicine at the door. Remember to use it when you have time."
No one answered, but Jiang Peng was used to it. He looked at the time and saw that it was eight o'clock in the evening. He originally wanted to take Jiang Xiaohu to dinner, but now it seems that he has no chance.
Taking out his mobile phone, Jiang Peng made a call and ordered a few dishes from "Zhao Ji's Private Sichuan Cuisine" and asked them to deliver them.
After putting down the phone, Jiang Peng was just about to take a rest when he heard a noise coming from downstairs.
Jiang Peng hurriedly ran to the window, poked his head out and saw at a glance four or five locals holding sticks standing in front of Uncle Le's grocery store downstairs. There were also a lot of glass fragments scattered on the ground, which were wine bottles.
What remains after breaking it.
Jiang Peng didn't hesitate, immediately left the door and walked downstairs.
A lot of people gathered around Uncle Le's grocery store, most of them were neighbors and faces that Jiang Peng was familiar with.
There was blood on the ground, and there were several people sitting on the ground nearby, covering their arms, looking pale, as if they were injured.
Those gangsters were smashing up Uncle Le's shop. Although the people around them had anger in their eyes, they dared not speak out.
After all, someone has already been injured.
Uncle Le stood aside with tears in his eyes, one cheek swollen, obviously he had been beaten.
Seeing the aggressive gangsters, Jiang Peng quickly shouted: "Stop! (Thai)"
Several gangsters heard the sound and temporarily stopped what they were doing.
Jiang Peng then stood in front of Uncle Le and asked, "Uncle Le, what's going on?"
Uncle Le shook his head with a wry smile, looked at the messy grocery stall, and whispered: "It's okay, Xiao Jiang, this matter has nothing to do with you."
Seeing Uncle Le being beaten and the shop being smashed, Jiang Peng's heart was filled with anger. Uncle Le had always been honest and kind, so how could he provoke these bastards?
"Distant relatives are not as good as close neighbors. Uncle Le, you have taken care of me and Xiaohu and my daughter for so many years. I have long regarded you as a family member. If you have anything to say, just say it."
Uncle Le looked at Jiang Peng, his eyes a little more moved, but still a little hesitant.
At this moment, a fat middle-aged woman with short hair in a white coat stood out from the crowd, with a pair of pink and phoenix eyes filled with laughter.
Angry.
"Xiao Jiang, you came just in time. These bastards are from the demolition company. They want to buy our land in Chinatown at a very low price. If you don't sign a domineering clause with them, they are causing trouble here. They see Uncle Le as someone who is easy to bully.
, want to demolish it by force!”
I understood what happened.
Jiang Peng didn't want to talk nonsense and shouted to several gangsters: "Get out, or I'll call the police. (Thai)"
The leader, with a fleshy face and unkempt hair, and small eyes full of fierceness, did not take Jiang Peng's words seriously at all. He raised the stick in his hand and pointed at Jiang Peng and said: "Do you think calling the police is useful? Don't come looking for death.
Bastard! (Thai)"
Jiang Peng knew these gangsters very well. What this fat guy said was right. These people were playing guerrilla warfare.
As long as it gets on it, it's as disgusting as meat on a hob.
The police cannot be in Chinatown all the time. As soon as they withdraw, these people will appear again.
To deal with such people, one can only respond to violence with violence.
In addition, Jiang Peng hated it when people pointed things at him, so he no longer hesitated, stepped forward, grabbed the leader's wrist, and twisted it hard.
Then he heard screams like a slaughtered pig. Jiang Peng grabbed the stick in his hand, hit the leader on the buttocks with the stick, and shouted: "Get out of here."
"Destroy him for me."
Hearing the angry voice of the leader, the remaining gangsters picked up sticks and greeted Jiang Peng.
It was hard for two fists to beat four feet, let alone four people on the other side. Jiang Peng kicked the leader away and quickly retreated to avoid the attacks of the others.
With one enemy against many, the emphasis is on defeating them one by one.
These gangsters look extremely fierce, but in fact they are all weaklings. Jiang Peng was in China, but he had actually practiced free fighting for many years.
Although I have become a bit rusty over the years, my basic skills are still there.
Using retreat as an opportunity to advance, Jiang Peng dodged the attacks of the gangsters and knocked down someone with a casual counterattack.
He didn't want to make matters worse, so the areas he hit were not critical, but basically the buttocks, stomach, back, etc.
In just a few minutes, four gangsters were brought down.
Looking at the leader who was rubbing his butt and showing fear, Jiang Peng said coldly: "Why don't you get out?"
Several gangsters gritted their teeth and helped each other to leave.
"You wait, kid, this is not over yet." After leaving a cruel message, the leader disappeared into Chinatown with a few gangsters.
Warm applause rang out. Jiang Peng threw away his stick, came to Uncle Le, and asked with concern: "Uncle Le, are you okay?"
Uncle Le waved his hand, looked at Jiang Peng, sighed, and said, "Hey, actually I don't want to cause trouble. Although my house is a bit old, I'm used to it and I don't have the intention to move anymore."
"Where is Zhou Chen? Didn't you look for him?" Jiang Peng asked.
"Zhou Chen is busy with work and has a long journey. I don't want to disturb him."
Jiang Peng sighed, Uncle Le was fine with everything, but he loved his son too much. Even if something like this happened, he didn't want his son to know about it and trouble him.
Without thinking any more, Jiang Peng said to Mrs. Chen who was wearing a white coat: "Mrs. Chen, thank you very much."
Mrs. Chen snorted, looked at the direction the gangsters left, and said viciously: "These bastards, this is not the first time they have come to Chinatown recently. Uncle Li at the south gate was injured by them this morning because of the demolition."
Xiao Jiang, the doctor in our clinic, you have made everyone feel bad."
Jiang Peng smiled, shook his head, and then asked: "We are all neighbors, and we should help each other. We haven't lived well these years, so why did someone suddenly come to demolish it?"
Mrs. Chen shook her head and said, "My husband said that someone is interested in our Chinatown area and wants to buy it and demolish it into an entertainment area. I don't know much about the rest."
Jiang Peng's heart moved slightly. There must be a backer behind these gangsters. From the looks of them, they would never give up. Jiang Peng silently noted this moment and prepared to find an opportunity to inquire.
Everyone worked together to help Uncle Le clean up the mess. There were more people and more power. Although there were losses, luckily they were within control.
"Uncle Le, if these bastards come to trouble you again in the future, just call me and I will deal with them." After cleaning up the shop and the neighbors dispersed, Jiang Peng sat on a stool and chatted with Uncle Le.
"Thank you so much for today, Xiao Jiang."
Jiang Peng waved his hand.
"Uncle Le, you are not hurt, I think those gangsters are attacking you."
Uncle Le smiled, took out a bottle of safflower oil from the cabinet, and smeared it on his face.
"Although your Uncle Le is old, his bones are still strong, so this little injury is nothing."
Uncle Le looked at Jiang Peng and continued.
"It's you. Seeing how you and this girl Xiaohu came back today, did you have another quarrel?"
Jiang Peng smiled bitterly, shook his head and said.
"This child is becoming more and more difficult to control. I don't know what to do now."
Uncle Le wanted to say something else, but a whistle sounded not far away.
Jiang Peng stood up, took a look, lowered his head and said, "Uncle Le, the meal I ordered is here."
After saying that, he went up to greet him.
A middle-aged man with a stubble on his face, wearing a grease-stained apron, rode an electric bicycle and approached quickly, and soon stopped in front of Jiang Peng.
"Brother Jiang, all the dishes you ordered are ready." A rough laugh came, and Jiang Peng quickly took the two bags of packaged dishes.
"Brother Zhao, why bother you to go there in person?"
Brother Zhao put down the stand, took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, lit one, took a deep breath, and said.
To be continued...
