473. Chapter 473 Do it yourself
Chen Hao felt a lot of helplessness when he listened to the two of them's arguments. Since ancient times, the debate between Buddhism and Taoism has never stopped, and it can be explained in just a few words. Originally, Chen Hao had no intention of helping either side, but the words of Zen Master Kuyuan made Chen Hao very unhappy.
So he frowned slightly and said in a deep voice to Zen Master Kuyuan: "Master's words are too extreme! Are the secrets of Taoist scriptures true as the Master said are forged, and it still needs to be identified and identified. But for Chen's words, even if Taoist scriptures are forged, you don't have to criticize the other party in person, right? Do Buddhist scriptures must be true?"
As soon as Chen Hao said this, Zen Master Kuyuan and Zhenren Xuan Ji were stunned. After Zhenren Xuan Ji was stunned, he bowed with joy and said, "I have heard that Mr. Chen is well-versed in ancient times and the present. I also asked to tell the vulgarity of Buddhist scriptures today, so that Zen Master Kuyuan knows what humiliating others is to humiliate themselves!"
Although Zen Master Kuyuan was shocked, he then looked angry and said in a deep voice: "What Mr. Chen said is suspected of forgery of my monk's Buddhist scriptures. Please provide evidence! It is also possible for me to convince me..."
Chen Hao, who didn't want to cause too much dispute, saw that Zen Master Kuyuan was so serious, and thought that it would be difficult to get out of it if he didn't explain it clearly today, so he solemnly said: "The authenticity of the Buddhist scriptures can be divided into two directions. One is that the classics of its era and the translator cannot be verified in the history of translation; the other is that the slightest Buddhist scriptures are taught from the Luantan or the spirit medium in the way of descending to the gods and entrusting dreams. The first type is formal scriptures, which are not contrary to Buddhism; the second type is fake scriptures, which are essentially the product of folk beliefs..."
Speaking of this, Chen Hao saw Zen Master Kuyuan showing doubts, so he slowed down his speech and continued: "The product of folk belief is taught by ghosts and gods attached to Buddhism and Dharma. He uses people to transform the image of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas when practicing, or a specific place for gods and ghosts, and uses sentences familiar to the public to say short sutras one by one, such as the "Gao Wang Guanyin Sutra", "Blood Bath Sutra", "Taiyin Sutra", "Taishang Ganying Pian", etc.
Some are close to Buddha, some are close to Tao, and some are the convergence of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. The three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism are combined. They use human moral standards to persuade, teach goodness, filial piety, and benevolence, which have certain functions. Therefore, although they are false scriptures rather than real Buddhist scriptures, Buddhists among the people are circulating. The reason why these scriptures are widely circulated is because these scriptures have the ability to educate sentient beings. Zen Master Kuyuan, don’t know if what Chen said is right or wrong?"
Chen Hao's remarks not only shocked Zen Master Kuyuan, but also caused Zhenren Xuan Ji and Qiu Shuming to think deeply. Qiu Shuming stopped the pen in his hand and glanced at Chen Hao in a daze, but was particularly surprised. Because this remark not only relates to the relationship between Buddhism and Taoism, but also involves Confucianism.
Zen Master Kuyuan was silent, but his face was extremely gloomy. According to Chen Hao's classification just now, the few scriptures he listed were indeed scriptures between Buddhism and Taoism. The most Buddhist "Guanyin Sutra of Gao Wang" was also written by later generations based on folk stories. If you are serious, you can't really say it is the true scripture...
Zen Master Kuyuan still did not give up, so he argued: "What Mr. Chen said is quite reasonable, but those scriptures were not specifically forged as Xuan Ji Zhenren!"
When Master Xuan Ji heard this, he became angry and then refuted: "Dear, you say that I forged the scriptures, don't you know if you have any evidence?"
"Hmph! It's obvious!" Zen Master Kuyuan also responded without giving in to his eyes.
"You! You are the obvious, the monk has lice on his head - it is obvious..." Xuan Ji Zhenren was angry and wise, and actually retorted and sarcastically.
"you!……"
“…”
Seeing Zen Master Kuyuan's face and thick neck, he thought that it would be better not to make things too stiff, so he waved his hand and interrupted, "Okay, don't argue!" After soothing his respective emotions, Chen Hao turned his face and said to Zen Master Kuyuan: "The reason why this sutra of the "Gao King Guanyin Sutra" is that Gao Huan, the prime minister of the Eastern Wei Dynasty and the King of Bohai, the actual founder of the Northern Qi Dynasty, ordered people to record a scripture. This scripture is difficult to distinguish in the true and false in the dream. Even if it is true, it is inevitable that the oral error will be made. Zen Master Kuyuan, if there is any error in this sutra hidden in it, wouldn't you miss the people and violate the essence of the Buddha?"
This passage Chen Hao said originated from an ancient story. According to records: During the Tianping period of the Eastern Wei Dynasty in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, a native of Dingzhou, Hebei Province, named Sun Jingde, who built a statue of Guanyin in the place where he guarded the city and worshiped him every day. Later, after his service, he returned to his hometown, but was caught as a traitor. Sun Jingde was tortured and sentenced to death and was sentenced to prison. One night he had a dream, dreaming that a monk taught him to recite the "Guanyin Life Saving Sutra". The monk said that if you recite it a thousand times, you can avoid death.
After Sun Jingde woke up, he started to recite it. When he was executed, he had already recited it hundreds of times. He was pulled to the execution ground and continued to recite it. Finally, it was a thousand times. When the executioner raised his knife and chopped it at his head, the knife was broken into three sections. He changed his knife, but he still could not hurt his flesh. After Prime Minister Gao Huan knew about it, he submitted a statement to exempt him from the death penalty. At the same time, he ordered his subordinates to write down the sutra and pass it on to the world for subjects across the country to recite it. Therefore, the people in later generations called the "Guanyin Sutra of King Gao".
"Master Chen, please be careful. How can Buddhist scriptures be false? If there is falsehood as Master Chen said, how can this scripture be widely circulated among the people!" At this moment, the bitter fate had already secreted fine sweat on his forehead, and it was a little abnormal in this cold winter.
Seeing that Zen Master Kuyuan was still reluctant to give up, Chen Hao thought to himself that this was something you forced me, so he moved slightly: "Then should the Zen Master know the source of this scripture?"
"Of course!" Seeing Chen Hao discussing the scriptures, Zen Master Kuyuanfen suddenly felt energetic, so he ordered Gao Huan to record the allusions of the scriptures and told Chen Hao in detail, for fear that Chen Hao would not understand the allusions in it.
After Zen Master Kuyuan detailed this mythological allusion, he thought Chen Hao would agree with his argument, but Chen Hao suddenly said, "Does Zen Master Kuyuan understand this scripture?"
Once Chen Hao's question was spoken, Qiu Shuming was stunned by Xuan Ji, who was standing aside, and then looked at Chen Hao with a strange look. His eyes seemed to say, Are you asking the question? This is too idiotic! Isn't this obviously humiliating people? How could a dignified Buddhist Zen master not understand the "Gao Wang Guanyin Sutra". This is just like a great writer, one day someone asked him in person: Do you know how to write?
At this moment, Zen Master Kuyuan was so choked by Chen Hao's words that he couldn't hold his face. He was immersed in Buddhism and studied Buddhism and read Buddhist scriptures all his life. How could he not understand the principles. So he said with a cold face unnaturally: "Amitabha, I naturally understand it. I asked myself that I could recite three thousand scriptures, and this "Gao Wang Guanyin Sutra" is naturally no problem!"
Chen Hao nodded in admiration, then looked at Zen Master Kuyuan and said earnestly: "After the Zen Master recites this scripture a thousand times, Chen will order someone to invite the Zen Master and then behead him! As for the crimes imposed, just **** woman... Chen wants to see if it is true as the allusion says, and he cannot hurt his flesh!"
Forehead……
