Chapter 3 Dispute

According to Chunzhi's memory, Zhong Linlang learned that the palace they were in was Changle Palace, and the mistress they served was Concubine Shu, the woman who looked sickly.

Concubine Shu was in poor health and had to drink a large bowl of medicine every day.

Zhong Linlang was sitting in the kitchen, holding a cattail fan in one hand to fan the small stove where medicine was being cooked.

It was raining outside, and the cool air that penetrated mixed with the dense medicinal gas, creating bursts of white mist.

"Sister Chunzhi!" A clear voice came. Zhong Linlang looked up and saw Shaoyao wearing a light blue cotton skirt opening the curtain and walking in with bright eyes, "Has the empress' medicine been cooked?"

"It's ready." Zhong Linlang nodded, poured the medicine into a white porcelain bowl, put it on the tray and took it away.

Shaoyao followed Zhong Linlang and couldn't help but shake her head and said, "Today is the fifteenth, and His Majesty will come in the evening."

There is an unwritten rule in Changle Palace: Although Concubine Shu is not favored by the Holy Spirit, on the fifteenth day of every month, the emperor will come over to see her.

Stepping into the bedroom, she saw Concubine Shu leaning on the bed of the imperial concubine, staring blankly at the raindrops outside the window. The cool breeze came in and warmed her body, and she couldn't help but cough a few times.

Shaoyao quickly went over and closed the window.

Fu Jingce glanced at her coldly and said nothing.

"The emperor doesn't seem to love her very much." Fu Jingce snorted, his tone full of disdain, "I follow the emperor and see different concubines every night."

"Your Majesty, take the medicine." Zhong Linlang walked over with the medicine bowl and a few pieces of candied fruit in her hand.

Zhong Linlang said yes, picked up the tray and put the empty bowl away. When she picked it up, she touched Concubine Shu's cold fingers.

"Spring branches." Concubine Shu ordered, "put the bowl away."

He came with a cold air, and the eunuch beside him put away the umbrella and handed it to the guard behind the emperor.

The emperor frowned at her and motioned for her to sit down.

The palace is easy to solve, but after death, the underworld takes over. If you are unwilling to turn into a ghost after death, it will be troublesome.

She thought she had met true love, but this true love put her in the abyss time and time again. Her sincerity was trampled on repeatedly. From the moment her family was exterminated, she was already dead, and died in the same place as today.

rainy night.

Several years ago, she was a pretty and lively little girl who was happy all day long and didn't know what troubles were. Everyone doted on her. She had a brother who loved her and a mother who loved her.

And Zhongyi’s sweetheart.

It was so strange, there was no warmth of life in her body.

Zhong Linlang suddenly had a premonition in her heart, "Fu Jingce?"

With the rouge covering up, Concubine Shu's face turned a lot more rosy, and her whole person became more energetic.

In fact, the emperor is quite young. He is wearing a bright yellow dragon robe, has a handsome face, and looks very majestic.

The emperor was silent for a while and did not respond. After a while, he said, "Why are you bringing this up?"

Concubine Shu supported her chin with her hands, watched her clearing the dishes, and shook her head, "I just told the truth."

Concubine Shu thought for a moment, picked up the medicine bowl, raised her head and drank the cold medicine juice in one gulp without hesitation.

"Your Majesty." Concubine Shu weakly called, but she did not salute.

The emperor slammed the table and stood up, "I see that you are seriously ill. Doctor Xuan will come to check on you tomorrow."

She suddenly laughed after saying this, and Zhong Linlang could clearly see a flash of tears in her eyes.

"What are you talking about!" the emperor scolded in a low voice, waving his sleeves to ask the serving eunuch to serve.

After the dishes for dinner were served, the emperor arrived.

"Zhishu." The emperor suddenly called her name, with a hint of impatience in his tone, "You are really confused. I came to see you, and you actually said such stupid things."

The guard lowered his head slightly and stared at her with his dark eyes, coldly.

"Why don't you drink this medicine?" The emperor saw the medicine bowl on the table and turned to ask Concubine Shu.

A woman in a deep palace cannot live long if she loses her favor.

"It's me." Fu Jingce nodded and asked her while leaning against the door frame, "How is she doing?"

"I hate days like this." Concubine Shu suddenly said, "On the fifteenth day of every month, your Majesty will only come to see me if I dress up carefully. Sometimes I think about it, the women in the palace are really pitiful."

It was obviously very painful, but she didn't even frown.

The emperor really got angry, so he didn't stay any longer and walked away.

Concubine Shu frowned slightly, glanced at the dark concoction, and then turned away, "I don't want to drink it now, just put it there."

She was bewitched and believed him easily.

"I heard that my concubine is pregnant with a child, and I would like to congratulate Your Majesty." Concubine Shu's soft voice came.

There is no moon tonight, and the lights in the room reflect it, making Fu Jingce's handsome profile even more stern.

"I envy you." Concubine Shu didn't shy away from it, "I can no longer have children."

Zhong Linlang heard Concubine Shu laugh and said, "Concubine, I have touched upon your majesty's pain points. I am without a child. Isn't it because of your majesty's gift?"

Zhong Linlang also walked over.

Zhong Linlang walked out and almost bumped into the guard at the door.

Concubine Shu tilted her head to look at him and smiled, "Your Majesty, do you want me to drink it?"

It was late autumn now, and the sky outside was getting dark. Zhong Linlang lit a lamp in the house and sent people to prepare dinner.

But he did not make her a queen, only a concubine. Little did he know that she was actually a pawn to stabilize his position.

At that time, her sweetheart came to pick her up on horseback, smiling wildly and said to her, "Zhishu, marry me. I will become the emperor, and you will be the queen."

After Zhong Linlang delivered the empty bowl, she returned to the palace to wait. She stood at the door. Although her sight was blocked by the bead curtain, she could clearly hear the conversation between Concubine Shu and the emperor.

Shaoyao immediately said yes. She picked up the dressing box, which contained various kinds of makeup and powder.

Zhong Linlang helped Concubine Shu up from the imperial concubine's bed.

Zhong Linlang knew that the "she" he was referring to was Concubine Shu. "She is very weak and doesn't have many days left."

Zhong Linlang was afraid that he would kill Concubine Shu in advance, so she persuaded him, "You must not do anything now. If Concubine Shu dies unjustly, she will definitely cause a lot of trouble."

"Your Majesty is coming tonight." Concubine Shu coughed several more times and her face became even paler. She raised her face slightly, as if looking at herself in the mirror, "Gress me up."

Seeing the emperor walking away, Shaoyao sighed and walked in, "My dear, why are you doing this?"

It was a hot spring rain, but she felt cold. She knelt outside the palace gate for several hours, but he didn't even look at her.

She was seriously ill.

In order to punish her stupidity, God caused her child to die early, and her body became weaker and weaker. He would never pity her anymore, and the medicine he gave her was filled with cinnabar. If she drank it, she would not have a child with him.

Concubine Shu closed her eyes, and the corners of her eyes gradually became moist.
