Sphinx chuckled softly, with a very teasing expression.

Hoffa's eyes suddenly widened, and he took a step back as if struck by lightning.

Sphinx's words lifted the fig leaf of his soul, and countless broken pictures flashed in front of him. That was the moon over the Black Lake fifty years ago, that was the Dragon of Nothingness and Grindelwald's madness, that was

Reckless self-destruction.

But in the blink of an eye, he thought of Aglaia and Chloe, the God of Nightmares, the mysterious realm of death, and the words he promised to others.

He looked into the almond-shaped eyes of Sphinx, and some kind of realization came to his mind, and he finally shook his head: "No, the rules are not lies."

"Oh? I'd like to hear the details."

The Sphinx looked curious.

Hoffa walked a few steps with his hands on the ground and raised his head: "No matter when and where, rules will exist. The moment the old rules are destroyed, new rules will be born. Even in the most barbaric era, there will always be predators of the weak.

Even in the most primitive time and space, there is death and rebirth. Even the most chaotic universe has a beginning and an end. What drives the planet, what controls the lightning and fire, what controls birth, old age, sickness and death, those are the rules.

Let me say, rules are not lies, rules are rules, and rules are the most powerful force in this world."

The Sphinx lay down and propped up his head with his claws:

"But wouldn't it be freeing to have no rules, and wouldn't it be fun to break the rules?"

"But the consequences will create a lot of monsters."

Hoffa looked at the Sphinx, "Just like you."

The Sphinx snorted: "So you will uphold the rules now?"

"I have been blinded by nothingness, but yes, I can." He said decisively.

"I'm satisfied, hum hum hum ~"

In the night, the Sphinx laughed in a very strange voice. It propped up its body and put its huge lion paws on Hoffa.

Huge amounts of magic flowed, and strong winds blew, making the shrubs in the maze rustle and make the leaves dance wildly.

Tiny light spots seeped out from Hoffa's body. Those were tiny mist of water, which were the septic medicine injected into his body by Nico Flamel.

Under the moonlight, Hoffa's wounds healed quickly, and a huge and sharp aura climbed steadily in the maze. Under the influence of that aura, the moonlight was dyed with a touch of bright red, turning into a veritable blood.
