49 Snow Tracking(1/2)

Professor Gorshak stood there for a long time, coughed twice, and then slowly turned around and entered the castle.

Hoffa didn't know what happened. When he saw Gorshak leaving, he got out from behind the wall where he was hiding, and chased Joey through the snow with one foot deep and one foot shallow.

"Hey, Joey!"

"Hey, wait for me."

After calling several times in succession, Joey turned his head.

When he saw that the person coming was Hoffa, he showed a surprised expression.

"What are you doing here? Why don't you go to the Quidditch match?"

Hoffa stepped on the snow up to his legs and caught up with Joey, panting.

"I haven't seen you for a while. How are you feeling?"

When he mentioned this, Joey waved his hands irritably.

"Don't mention it, I'd rather die that day."

"What's wrong?"

"What? Those damn guys actually said that I violated the faculty code and took students into the forbidden forest without permission. I need to be suspended for observation. During the observation period, I have no salary. Without salary, what will happen to my Maya?"

The more Joey talked, the more excited he became.

"I've been hospitalized for the past few days, and his body has become extremely weak... Will these damn Europeans die if they live a good life? They must be beaten back and forth. I've had enough!"

Maya is an egg laid by Joey's previous Thunderbird, Taras.

Hoffa wanted to comfort Joey, but when Joey spoke on the phone, Hoffa couldn't answer the call at all, because he himself is now considered half European.

After a few seconds, Joey also noticed his gaffe. He sighed and muttered: "Forget it, why should I tell you."

Hoffa didn't mind, he caught up and asked: "Maya is not in good condition?"

"It's terrible. Come and take a look at it. Maybe I will take him back to the United States after Christmas."

Saying depressedly, Old Joey took Hoffa back to his tree house.

Now every tree in the Forbidden Forest is carved with mysterious runes.

As soon as he entered the Forbidden Forest, Hoffa felt that there were eyes everywhere, invisible eyes.

Joey said gloomily:

"Damn dark wizards, Dumbledore and the principal have put defensive marks on every nearby tree. Now even if there is a mouse near the school, they will know it. Many magical creatures have sensed the surveillance,

They are all far away from this area.”

The two climbed up to the tree house. Joey helped Hoffa make a pot of tea in the living room and slumped down on a chair.

In the rattan basket on the coffee table in front of the two of them, there was a large gray-white bird egg. It was dimmer than the last time Hoffa saw it, and the blue lines on it were almost undetectable.

Joey took out his reddish-brown spectacle lenses, looked at the bird eggs carefully for a few times, and rubbed his hair worriedly.

"If this continues, I might really have to resign and go home. The environment here is too unfriendly to it, be it the weather or the wizard."

Hoffa quickly took Joey's glasses and put them on his eyes.

Under the perspective of his glasses, Hoffa saw that inside the eggshell, the embryo had obviously lost weight."

It seems that the condition is really bad, Hoffa frowned. Is there nothing you can do?

"Of course there is a way, but it's a pity that it can't be realized in the UK."

Joey said worriedly:

"I have lived with the thunderbird for 0 years and know it quite well. It needs a dry and hot environment when it hatches. The drier and hotter the better. But the current environment is not suitable for its growth."

"Can't we simulate an environment?" Just like... Hoffa gestured with his hand. "It's like the birds in the breeding base, using fire and magic."

"This is a magical creature, not a turkey."

Joey said angrily:

"Even if it can simulate a dry and hot environment, it can't simulate the climate it likes. Do you know the climate? That kind of sultry, oppressive, stormy, and lightning-thundering atmosphere."

"What's the climate like in Arizona, USA?"

Hoffa asked.

"That's right, thunderbirds like to be born in that kind of environment."

Hoffa looked at the egg and then at Joey's depressed old face. Suddenly a strange idea came to his mind.

"I think I have an idea."

Hoffa said slowly.

"What's the idea?"

"When I was in Diagon Alley before school started, I once saw a store that sold weather weather. They sold weather weather for all types of weather. They sold thunder weather, rain weather, desert weather, and rain forest weather. They were exactly the same as the real ones." (Note)

:See Chapter 4)

"Is there still a store like this?"

Joey was stunned.

"Yes, I have seen it with my own eyes. Isn't it the same in the American wizarding world?"

Joey shook his head like a rattle.

Hoffa: "We could buy one if..."

"How much?" Joey asked directly.

Hoffa thought for a moment.

"If I remember correctly, it should be fifty gold galleons."

"Fifty gold galleons?" Joey gasped.

"My monthly salary at Hogwarts is only 15 gold galleons, and I have to send ten to the United States every month. How can I have so much money? Moreover, these hateful school leaders stopped working because of the forbidden forest.

My salary.”

Hoffa laughed bitterly.

Speaking of which, these wizards are really down-to-earth, and knowing magic cannot change the fact that they are poor at all. When I read the novel in my previous life, the Weasley family was very poor because they had many children. It seems that Harry Potter did not live a good life after graduation.

I'm considered rich, because working at the Ministry of Magic doesn't bring much luck.

Hoffa took a sip of tea and asked, "Why did you come to the UK to work? Why don't you find something with more money?"

"I have too many American family members, and they make me upset every day. Taras didn't like my family back then. He liked peace and quiet. So I brought him to Hogwarts."

"How many children do you have?" Hoffa took another sip of tea and asked casually.

"17."

Old Joey stretched out his legs, looked up to the sky and sighed.

Hoffa almost choked when he took a sip of tea.

"How... much?"

"17, 17. I'm a Mormon, don't you think that's a lot?"

"I don't care what kind of believers you are!" Hoffa exclaimed, "17, how did you do it, your wife..."

"I have nine wives."

Old Joey said calmly, "Over there in the United States."

puff!!

A mouthful of hot tea spurted out of Hoffa's mouth and spat on Joey's face.

The sympathy for the other party's difficult situation suddenly disappeared. Hoffa coughed and looked at the familiar but unfamiliar old man in front of him in shock.

He felt that his world view was rapidly collapsing. Nine wives and 17 children. What was that concept? Feudal society or slave society?

Why was it possible to marry 9 wives and have 17 children in 198?

"Really or falsely...?"

Hoffa asked hoarsely.

"Why do you look like you've seen a ghost?" Joey said angrily, wiping the tea juice on his face with a towel.

"I've been told that I am a Mormon, a Mormon. Our religion allows polygamy."

Hoffa suddenly understood.

Then he asked without hesitation: "What are the conditions for joining the religion?"

Old Joey was amused by Hoffa's expression. He shook his head and sighed: "How young are you, you are already thinking about these things. But let me remind you, some things are not as beautiful as they seem. If I really

I enjoy life in America very much, but I would never come to Hogwarts to do such hard work."

"Nonsense, only after you have experienced it can you express your feelings in front of me!"

Hoffa scolded angrily. "You deserve to be short of money. It's not an exaggeration to ask you to be poor to death. God has opened nine windows for you. It's time to deprive you of something."

"People are as big as little devils."

Old Joey laughed helplessly.

The conversation in the treehouse had somehow completely gone off the rails.

Hoffa completely forgot about Thunderbirds, and also forgot about Quidditch.

He kept asking old Joey about the details of Mormonism, specifically the details of polygamy, such as what to do if your wife is jealous, how to sleep every night, how often he gets a new wife, and whether there are any particularities in doting on his wife.
