Chapter 9: A Delicious Roast Meat
When Wu Wei heard what this man said, he found it interesting. He couldn't judge the authenticity of the words. He didn't know if he wanted to trick him or something.
"Brother, what do you call you?" Wu Wei looked at him with a smile and asked.
"My name is Zhang Daqiang. I am the eldest in my family. I have three younger brothers and two younger sisters." Zhang Daqiang is a straightforward man.
When Wu Wei heard him tell his situation so honestly, he felt that he should be someone he could talk to.
"Brother Daqiang, my name is Wu Wei. We need more help from now on." Wu Wei put down the bucket in his hand, wiped his body and reached out to shake hands with Zhang Daqiang.
Zhang Daqiang didn't know what Wu Wei was reaching for. He groped around on his body for a while, took out a small piece of beef with soy sauce and handed it to Wu Wei.
Wu Wei looked at the piece of soy beef in his hand speechlessly, then handed it back to Zhang Daqiang, took his hand over and shook it.
"This is called shaking hands. It's a custom in our hometown. Once we shake hands, we become good brothers. We will share blessings and share hardships in the future." Wu Wei finished with a smile and continued to carry water.
Zhang Daqiang looked at the hand held by Wu Wei, thinking about what he said, and put the beef in his hand back into his pocket.
Wu Wei was tortured for three days. All the blisters on his hands were worn out and they were wrapped in rags. However, when he carried water or carried firewood, he would feel excruciating pain.
He has not been idle these days. He has met several like-minded brothers, mainly people who have a lot of resentment towards Wang Man but dare not do anything.
Wu Wei found that these people had one thing in common. As long as someone fanned the flames, the injustice and anger suppressed in their hearts would erupt like a volcano.
When Wu Wei went to bed at night, he began to think about how to stir up the anger in these people's hearts.
Just as Wu Wei was tossing and turning, a dark shadow came into the tent. Wu Wei, who was not sleeping, felt the dark shadow, but he did not make a sound, wanting to see what he was going to do.
The shadow was slowly turning in the pitch black, and Wu Wei heard the sound of sniffing something. The black shadow didn't look like a person, but more like an animal.
Animal? Wu Wei was startled. Could it be some wild beast that entered the camp?
On second thought, it was impossible. There were guards guarding the camp on all sides. If there were any wild beasts, they would have sounded drums to warn them.
Wu Wei took out the big iron spoon he had pressed under the mat. This spoon was now the only thing Wu Wei could use to defend himself.
When the black figure turned to Wu Wei, Wu Wei knocked it over with an iron spoon. He heard a "ouch" and the black figure fell down.
When other people heard the sound, they got up one after another, lit candles, and came to check.
In the tent where Wu Wei is sleeping now, in addition to the few team members who followed him, there are also three people he knows here who are relatively close to him.
When Wu Wei took a spoon and used the candlelight to see clearly that the black figure turned out to be a fat and big wolf dog, he couldn't help but laugh happily.
"Brothers, there is meat to eat!" Wu Wei got up so excited that he didn't bother to put on his clothes, and was ready to deal with the big dog.
"Brother Wu, wait a minute, this seems to be the vicious dog that Wang Man raised. He usually keeps it locked in his tent, and sometimes lets it out at night, sometimes not.
This dog is as annoying as its owner and specializes in stealing the meat and dry food we have hidden." Someone whispered to Wu Wei and explained the origin of this dog.
"Wang Man's dog? Just in time, it satisfies the greed of the brothers." Wu Wei said, without any scruples, he took the knife handed over by Jiao Xiaoniu, slashed the dog's neck, and then started to skin it.
When the others saw that Wu Wei had already taken action, they didn't say anything more. They dared not say anything in anger towards Wang Man, but they would not be lenient at all towards the dogs he raised.
I just used this dog to vent my anger towards Wang Man.
Those people had no intention of continuing to sleep. Those who carried firewood carried firewood, helped cut meat, and lit fires. There were also people guarding the door to prevent others from noticing what was going on inside, and others blocking the light of the fire.
After a while, the big dog turned into a pile of cut steaks. The fire was also lit, and it was roasting sizzlingly on the fire.
Smelling the alluring aroma, everyone in the camp was swallowing their saliva and staring at the meat on the fire.
Before it is fully cooked, some people are not afraid to take it off while blowing on the hot air and start eating it.
Seven or eight Chinese characters gathered around the fire and ate so much that their mouths were full of oil.
Wu Wei looked at the almost eaten dog meat and thought that there were still a few close friends who were not in the camp. He packed some for Lin Zhuang and asked him to ask Zhang Daqiang to borrow straw paper and give him the meat because of his stomachache.
Soon Lin Zhuang came back and happily told Wu Wei that he had given the meat to Zhang Daqiang, and he said he would share it with other brothers with whom he was close.
After everyone in Wu Wei's camp had eaten, they all went to sleep contentedly. Wu Wei wrapped up the dog skin and the remaining bones and meat, took them outside and pretended to find a soft place to bury them.
Before dawn, Wu Wei, who was sleeping in a daze, was woken up by a burst of noise.
"Look for me, tent by tent!" Wang Man's voice full of fiery anger came. Wu Wei couldn't help but smile proudly, and finally got the game back.
"Get up, get up, have any of you seen my big black body?" Wang Man violently broke into the tent of Wu Wei and others and shouted loudly.
"Oh, Mr. Wang, do you have to get up so early to make breakfast? Is it corn porridge or millet porridge today?" Wu Wei asked, rubbing his eyes and pretending to be woken up.
"Have you seen my dog?" As soon as Wang Man finished speaking, he felt something was wrong. There was a smell of smoke in the tent, and the smell of raw meat being roasted.
"You beasts! Did you roast my Dahei?" Wang Man asked Wu Wei with a ferocious face. In his eyes, as long as anything happened, it was definitely Wu Wei who instigated it.
"Sir Wang, livestock are not allowed in the military camp. This general has repeatedly said so.
Didn't your Dahei accidentally break into the general's camp and be beaten to death?" Someone gloated, thinking that there was no evidence that the meat was in his stomach, and Wang Man couldn't do anything to him.
Wu Wei glanced at the person who spoke and thought to himself that trouble came from his mouth. How could this person be so stupid?
"What did you bake in the camp? Why does it smell like barbecue?" Wang Man sniffed hard again.
"Master Wang, we have found Dahei." Someone at the camp door called Wang Man nervously. The voice was full of fear and panic.
"Where?" Wang Man ignored Wu Wei and the others and turned around directly to go out.
But when Wang Man saw that his beloved Dahei only had a piece of skin and a few bones left, he almost fainted from anger.
This Dahei had followed him for almost six years, traveling all over the country, from being stationed in the military camp to the current military camp. Wang Man regarded him as his brother and his most intimate partner.
Killing it was equivalent to killing Wang Man, so he stared with blood-red eyes and vowed to find out the person who killed the dog.
After Wang Man left, Wu Wei was surrounded by several other people. They asked him nervously what he should do?
Wu Wei smiled calmly: "What are you afraid of? He is almost on the verge of being unable to protect himself. He will definitely not have a chance to cause trouble to us."
