A letter to book friends in the New Year

I wish readers and friends a happy New Year of the Rabbit!

Looking back on the past 2022, I really feel sometimes feeling, and sometimes when I think back on some of the past, I feel like I have a different life.

I remember when I graduated in August 2020, Qiu recruited a state-owned enterprise. Later, our teacher called me to study for graduate school and could achieve academic achievements. However, I was fooled by HR at that time and thought I had found a job with great treatment, so I did not agree to the teacher and refused my mother's idea of providing me with my year of study for another year.

But at that time, I was too young and only after entering the company did I realize that my income was not enough to eat. There was no way at that time. After all, I signed the school recruitment and persisted for more than half a year. After 2021, when I was exhausted physically and mentally, I compensated the unit for a fee and was able to resign successfully.

Later, because of masks, I found a job very difficult. Even so, I tried to take two career certificates and wanted to work in the industry I dreamed of. However, the job search was very difficult, and I started to think about taking the postgraduate entrance examination again.

However, the opportunity was only once, and it was effective at a fixed time. After only half a year passed, the family's attitude changed. Even if they forced themselves to take the postgraduate entrance examination after taking the postgraduate entrance examination later, there were only three months left. Then, they encountered the most difficult one in 2022.

During this period, I had no income and my family was forced to do so. In addition, my family was sick and I had many difficulties in reviewing. Fortunately, the provincial examination in March finally had a good result. Finally, after rounds of competition, I came to the Pamir Plateau, the westernmost part of the motherland.

The reason I want to talk about the unpleasant experiences during this period is to explain to readers why most of the chapters in the first volume of my novel, the Wasteland Echoer, are dark, depressed, silent and uncomfortable. After all, under the premise of non-commercial writing, the author will always integrate his own situation and mood into his work.

Just like many chapters in the first volume, the three major churches of Crown Prince Ivant, Wright's protagonist group, and the Lost Church all worked hard and struggled in painful and difficult days, but in the end they came to a losing streak. After all, this is more real and more logical.

But what I want to emphasize is not painful struggle, surrendering to it in the face of indescribable fear, or going completely crazy. Instead, each character struggles hard in a painful era, and always has a hint of longing and respect for the light in his heart during the dark moments.

Only when humans have hope can they have goals, and only when they have goals can they strive to live. Humans who can truly see the light will not surrender to difficulties, nor will they become humble and cowardly because of the environment. On the contrary, a little bit of knowledge, finding directions, and accumulating abilities in difficulties is the last way to see the light.

In fact, this book "The Wasteland Echoer" was very early, and it was in the unpleasant working period in 2020. At the beginning, it was just a flash of inspiration. Seeing that Cthulhu style novels were very popular, I thought about whether I could build a fantasy Cthulhu wasteland worldview. At that time, I was still creating a continuous work that seems to be of extremely poor quality now, and I was reading as many works as possible for the masters to have some insights.

Until the submission in February 2022, I didn’t have enough confidence to sign the contract. It was a bit self-deprecating. After all, Qidian’s authors are very strong and gathered with great masters. So, at that time, I just had a try-making mentality and the desire to be given guidance from the editor.

So, I've written it.

But the beginning of this novel is indeed very poor. It takes 300 words to collect 100,000 words to collect 1,300 words to be put on the shelves, and the first order is more than 130, so you can basically ignore it by following the order.

However, I have been thinking that the purpose of writing novels is not only to satisfy readers who like to destroy the world and pay attention to the pleasure, but also to build a world of my own as much as possible. Therefore, even if the subsequent updates of this novel have fewer subsequent updates, I have never cut it and have no eunuchs.

People do not have faith and cannot stand. Since they have agreed to write a 4 million word book, even if they must be 0, they must insist on writing it. This is an explanation for me.

However, after this book was put on the shelves, especially after it exceeded one million words last month, I still really received some readers' support.

The current collection is 10277, and the orders are 198, which is a small goal in the listing comments.

So here, on the New Year, I will set a goal for the next stage.

We strive to create 1.5 million words in 2023, achieve 50,000 collections and 500 orders. We hope that one day the world view I carefully crafted can be adapted and put on the screen.

In the creation of the second volume, I will continue some of the ideas in the first volume, setting up some mysteries, revealing everything related to the protagonist and the gods behind it like peeling an onion.

Of course, there will be some depression in the process of trying to uncover the origin of the wasteland, but Dark's personality is different from Wright himself, so it will be slightly lighter and slightly more promising than the first volume. It will also focus on adventure and combat, adding some fast-paced and passionate plots and growth plots with some refreshing power. Readers and friends are welcome to continue to support it!
