Chapter Eighteen Don't Look Back

"I think we have to leave here," Sean said, pulling up Lanster, gesturing at his head twice, intimidating, "If you don't want to die, run with us."

Lanster could only follow the two of them with a humming moan.

The black shadow seemed to have noticed the three of them and followed behind them flutterly. Fortunately, the thing was not moving fast. However, as he walked, another one suddenly came out from a shadow in front of him.

The three of them had to take a turn and step onto a stone bridge that they had never walked past. The stone bridge was a bit broken, but fortunately it did not prevent them from moving forward.

As the three of them moved, more and more small things emerged from the darkness. The three of them ran for a while, and strange black shadows were everywhere on the left and right. They were floating in the air and soon covered the sky and ground around them, as if moving phantoms, or some kind of weird ghost, rushing towards the three of them from all directions.

These things do not need to be moved on the stone bridge, so although they move slowly, they gradually surrounded the three of them.

Sean's scalp was tingling and couldn't help asking, "What the hell is that? Is it a ghost in the mirror?"

"It's certainly not. I've never seen this thing before." Alhaz was also a little panicked. The ghost in the mirror was at least human, and he still had the possibility of communication, and he might even use tricks.

But the floating black human figures in front of me didn't even have arms, like black worms with human faces floating in the air, without sound or expression, but with a hint of human image characteristics, which made people shudder.

No one knew what they wanted to do, and the three didn't want to try that result.

The three of them ran faster and faster, and finally ran wildly. Lanster didn't need to urge him now. He covered his shoulders and followed the two with a pale face.

Suddenly he staggered and fell to the ground.

Sean stopped, but Alhaz was still running wildly, "Shaen, leave him alone."

Lanster struggled and got up again, "Don't leave me!"

Sean hesitated for a second, but still pulled him. Lanster gave a grateful look. The three of them continued to run. Several black shadows suddenly appeared on the stone bridge in front of them, and there was no way left and right. Alhaz, who was at the forefront, gritted his teeth and accelerated suddenly, and quickly passed through the gap between the black shadows.

Sean and Lanster then arrived, and the black human figures were almost blocking the road. Sean jumped through the two black shadows, so close that the bright white light in the eyes of the black human figures could be clearly seen.

His hair stood up, and he raised his hand and shot it. The bullet passed through the thing without causing any damage, but successfully gave Lanster the opportunity to escape.

He rolled and crawled up, and Sean did not continue to waste bullets and continued to run wildly. Alhaz in front suddenly cheered, "Look, I'm here!"

It was the mirror at his house. He put his hand on the mirror. When the mirror ripples, the two people behind rushed over. Sean didn't even pause and just ran over.

The three of them rushed into the mirror together, and with a bang, they fell into a pile. Lanster was pressed to the wound and screamed again.

Looking at the familiar surroundings, Sean breathed a sigh of relief. Looking back, the black human figures disappeared, and there was only reflection of the room in the mirror.

Lanster on the ground looked at Sean and suddenly asked tentatively: "Professor Sean, is it you?" Sean was startled first, and then immediately reacted. He was a celebrity at the size of a sword castle. Alhaz's voice just now completely sold him.

He glanced at Lanster with some pity and sighed, "It's me."

He was too lazy to disguise himself, so he pulled off the mask on his face. Alhaz also removed his disguise when he saw him, and Lanster was even more surprised.

"Professor Sean? Professor Alhaz? What the hell is going on?"

"This matter is a long story, so I'd better bandage it for you first." Sean tried to make his tone gentler. Perhaps because he pulled Lanster before, Lanster was very obedient.

He looked a little miserable. Not only did he get injured on his shoulder, but he lost a lot of blood throughout his journey. The blood remained along his arms, drying into a red line, and it was still bleeding continuously at this time.

Sean naturally couldn't let him die now, so he hurriedly found gauze and bandaged it.

Fortunately, the bullet passed through the shoulder, otherwise it would be a troublesome to retrieve the bullet.

After doing all this, Sean and Alhaz trapped him in the chair with ropes and blocked their mouths to make sure he didn't yell and make noise, and now the work was done.

Lanster thought the two wanted to kidnap him for ransom. When bandaging the wound, he kept begging for mercy, saying that his father would use a large handful of money to redeem him. Sean was happy and perfunctory, saying that he would let him go after receiving the money.

Of course he would not let Lanster go, and from the moment he was recognized, the ending of Lanster was already destined.

He did not feel guilty about what he would do next. Lanster was not a good person in nature. As the son of the duke, he had done a lot of things to bully men and women.

He was just a little angry. The various mistakes and omissions in the implementation of the plan were simply a collection of disasters.

When he and Alhaz locked Lanster into the basement and returned to the living room, he asked in annoyance: "Did you do it on purpose?"

Alhaz hurriedly shouted for justice: "You know me, why did I do that? It was really an urgent situation at that time..."

After saying that, he smiled again: "Besides, you didn't plan to let that kid live from the beginning, didn't you?"

Sean snorted coldly, "I'm not as cruel as you. If I could not kill people, I would still prefer not to kill."

"Come on, you're just lucky, thinking you can avoid those risks and thinking that you can avoid blood on your hands.

But guess what, the facts are probably different from what you think. Once you take action, there is no possibility of turning back. I am too familiar with this. There are many victims on the road to pursuing the truth. We can only try our best to ensure that we are not the victim."

After saying that, he smiled again, "You must have thought of this for a long time. All I did was just breaking your fantasy. Come on, Sean, it's time to go to bed. We still have work to do tomorrow."

Sean was speechless by Alhaz's words, and at the same time he was secretly wary of the hidden meaning in Alhaz's words. The past of this old friend who had known each other for several years seemed much more complicated than it seemed. What kind of past does this foreigner with a dark face and a divine eyes have under his cynical appearance?

That night, Sean slept with his clothes. He lay on the sofa in the living room, listening to the silent sound of insects outside the window and the snoring of Alhaz in the bedroom, and he was completely sleepy.

The pistol in his arms brought him some comfort, but it did not give him complete peace of mind.

How did things develop to this point? I became a desperate person for no reason, and my fate is really ironic.

He thought to himself, and finally fell asleep gradually

The next morning, Sean was awakened by the faint banging sound from the basement. He felt tight and hurriedly took out his gun and walked into the basement carefully. He found that the chair tied to Lanster was lying on the ground. Lanster was struggling on the ground like a fish out of water, gasping for breath. The rope was tied to his neck and made several red marks.

He breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the rope was tied tightly. The scene in the movie that casually broke free from the constraints was not true after all.

He squatted down in front of Lanster leisurely and poked Lanster's head with the barrel, "If I were you, save some effort."

Lanster stopped struggling and whined twice.

Sean helped him up and untied the rope from Lanster's mouth.

"I'm hungry."

"Sorry, I'm afraid you'll have to bear it a little today."

"I want to go to the bathroom."

"Even if you go, no one will stop you."

"I can't live long, right?" Lanster suddenly asked sadly.

Sean said in his heart that he finally realized it. He felt a little pitiful in his heart, but he smiled gently on his face, "Don't worry, you will be free after tonight. I'll catch you just need you to help me with a little favor."

After saying that, in order to comfort Lanster, Sean poured him a glass of water and fed it to him.

Lanster greedily drank the water. Before he could beg or ask for more, Sean tied up his mouth.

Sean was not going to give Lanster something to eat, so he couldn't escape when he was hungry, but he still had to give water.

He was not sure how much the so-called ‘noble blood’ would require, so he had to keep Lanster hydrated.

During the whole day, Sean was restless. On the one hand, he was worried about the exposure of the matter. Now someone must be searching for the whereabouts of Lanster, and he was afraid that someone would knock on the door of Alhaz's apartment in the next second.

On the other hand, he was excited and uneasy about the summoning ceremony tonight. What if the summoning ceremony fails? What if they have a wrong understanding of the content in the book?

What if this book is fake?

This torment accompanied him until the evening. When it was completely dark outside, Sean's heart suddenly became calm.
