Chapter 385 Do it to Starlink!

Ugly, Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.

A Falcon 9 rocket is ready to be launched on the launch frame. As long as the final inspection is completed, it will carry 10 next satellites provided by iridium    orgmunications into the low orbit of space, continuing to complete Musk’s starlink system map and provide mobile satellite communications to the ground.

This is the second Falcon 9 rocket launched by Tesla this year. In just two months, they have completed the full process of launch, recycling, maintenance and relaunch, and their efficiency has almost doubled compared to last year.

Musk is extremely satisfied with such efficiency improvement. He is an ultimate utilitarian, who pursues the highest efficiency and the highest degree of completion in everything. If he cannot do anything perfectly, it will be a failure for him.

Everyone in the company has seen his irritable temper and tough methods, and no one is willing to disobey his orders--in fact, judging from the current situation, the benefits obtained by obeying his orders are indeed the highest.

In the main control room, a man in a shirt walked to Musk who was sitting in front of the observation window, coughed and said:

"Sir, our rocket is ready to be launched at any time. However, we have a little trouble..."

"What trouble? Technical?"

Musk's brows frowned instantly, and when he saw his expression, the person who came couldn't help but feel cold in his heart.

If he hadn't had no choice, he wouldn't be willing to come over to report bad news to the other party at this time, because in the past year, Tesla and Spacex have encountered enough troubles.

First, there were a series of failures in new energy vehicles, followed by the huge impact of China's sulfur silicon battery technology on the new energy market. Then, just two weeks ago, the official of Chouguo had no reason to convey to him the intention to slow down the Starlink plan. Nasa's support funds suddenly shrank, and the Falcon 9 second launch plan, which had reached the final stage, had to use the company's own funds.

He even had to lower his production plan to squeeze out enough funds to complete the launch.

But what after the launch is completed?

The construction speed of Starlink ground base stations is far from keeping up with the launch speed of satellites, which means that even if it can launch all 42,000 planned satellites into space within one year, the so-called communication network cannot really take effect.

If the communication network is invalid, it means that commercialization cannot continue.

If the service cannot be sold, there will naturally be no income.

The only solution is to rely on official blood transfusions.

Judging from the current situation, the official blood transfusion may soon stop...

The visitor shook his head slightly to dispel the bad guesses in his heart, and answered:

"It's not a technical trouble, it's the military. They sent two representatives, who seemed to want to talk to us about the launch..."

"The launch matter? What's the point of talking about? This is just a planned launch. Could it be that they are planning to stop it now?"

The visitor looked at Musk with some embarrassment and said hesitantly:

"From their performance...it seems to be like this."

"What are you kidding me? Call them over immediately! I want to see them immediately!"

"Sir, they are already waiting in the reception room, and you may need to go there yourself. They said that the things they want to talk to you involve confidential information..."

Musk's expression became a little cold. He walked behind the launch commander-in-chief and patted his shoulder, signaling that the launch preparations would continue, and walked towards the reception room without looking back.

After pushing open the door, his expression changed instantly.

From the face before the door was pushed open, it immediately turned into warmth like spring.

"Col. Louis, Colonel Danny, I didn't expect it was you... Long time no see, why, do you want to witness this historic launch?"

A man and a woman sitting on the sofa stood up and shook hands with Musk, and then the man said:

"Musk, you're still so energetic. How about it, is Riley okay? I heard she's pregnant?"

"That's just gossip news compiled by tabloid reporters... You know, I don't have the heart to think about having a baby now----Starlink is enough for me to be busy. By the way, Colonel Danny, how about the ice wine I gave you last time?"

"very nice."

Danny nodded slightly, with a gentle smile on her face.

"I guess you'll love ice wine because I noticed you were drinking mojito at the last dinner - it was strange, my doctor told me that sugar would make me older faster, but this rule doesn't seem to work on you."

"You are still so good at sweet talk. Okay, let's sit down and chat."

The three of them sat down on the sofa. After a moment of silence, Louis spoke directly:

"Musk, you probably guessed the purpose of our visit today. In fact, I don't want to go too far with you. What I want to tell you is our advice."

"You'd better cancel this launch, even if it can't be cancelled, it will be delayed until at least three months later."

"You should know the reason. China is also launching low-orbit satellites. They have expressed serious dissatisfaction with your starlink system. If we continue to launch in such a sensitive moment, we are worried that the relationship between the two countries will be affected."

Hearing this, Musk's smile became a little stiff. After taking a deep breath, he spoke:

"Col. Louis, seriously, I don't understand what you mean---what is the relationship between the two countries affected?"

"Wait first and let me finish my words. What I want to say is, is there any relationship between us and them?"

"You know, I am a person who cares about current affairs. I have also seen the confrontation some time ago. If we hadn't stopped early, it would be hard to say which direction the matter would develop."

"In this case, are we going to think about how to be friends with them?"

"Col. Louis, I don't understand. I don't understand why you suddenly became weak, just like I don't understand why our aircraft carrier fleet suddenly stopped moving, why Nasa stopped investing in spacex, why our bases stationed in other countries suddenly evacuated... What exactly happened that made you suddenly change your attitude towards our enemies?"

Hearing Musk's words, Louis's originally gentle expression instantly became serious. He looked straight into Musk's eyes and said:

"This is not something you should know, and you shouldn't ask at all."

"You know, we are here today, which is already a sign of our greatest sincerity. We are just giving you advice, not forcibly termination of your launch plan."

"What I want to tell you is that your opponent is far more terrifying than you think."

"Yes, you can still stick to your ideas to complete this launch, but what after that? Are you not worried about their revenge?"

"No, even if you are not afraid, we cannot accept such a result. In any case, I must tell you that if you insist on continuing to launch satellites, then all the losses you suffer after this will be treated as accidental."

"We can't speak for you---no one will endorse you again, do you understand?"

After hearing Louis's words, Musk's expression became a little stunned.

What's wrong with this?

He has never heard such a tough and so-called "suggestion" in military personnel. It can even be said that this is no longer a suggestion, but some kind of...disclaimer.

As Louis said, they were unwilling to endorse themselves or take the risks behind the Starlink project.

Something must have happened.

This incident even caused the official to change his judgment on the military interests behind the Starlink plan, allowing them to give up the surveillance network and information advantages that are almost at hand through Starlink, and give priority to ensuring their relationship with China.

What amazing things did the other party get in his hands?

Perhaps, it is time to use some higher-level relationships to obtain information that you have no right to access.

Thinking of this, Musk spoke:

"Sorry, Colonel Louis, I didn't expect that the situation had developed to this level...but as you said, you're just giving me advice, so I have the right to choose to accept or not."

"You have to know that this is not a separate rocket launch at all, but a verification launch of rapid reuse of rockets. We have been preparing for this launch for several years. If we give up now, it means that all our early efforts will be in vain."

"I think even the Nasa understands the significance of this launch."

"So, I'm afraid I can't accept your suggestion--this launch must be carried out, but after that, we will reorganize communication and reschedule the Starlink project plan."

"Do you think the military can accept such a plan?"

Louis and Dany looked at each other, and after a moment, the two nodded slightly reluctantly.

......

Twenty minutes later, the two left the launch base. After getting on the special car, Louis spoke to Danny:

"Fortunately, at least we convinced him to re-arrange the Starlink project, which is also a progress."

"But he is just a lunatic... We must continue to put pressure on him in the future, otherwise he may really push the plan forward regardless of the situation, which is very unfavorable to our current situation."

Hearing his words, Danny nodded slightly and replied:

"I understand, I will communicate with Nasa again in the future."

"But maybe this is also an opportunity - let him suffer a little loss, and we can just test where our opponent's ability limit is, and we won't be too passive in the subsequent response."

Louis sighed slightly.

"I hope this is the case..."

A moment later, as their cars drove out of the base, the huge Falcon 9 rocket behind them rose up.

The smoke rose up and the flames even made the sky dark.

The owner of this rocket has no idea what kind of challenges he will face.
