Chapter 146 Exploring the Rainforest

The next day, three hundred guards gathered in the manor.

They were uniformly wearing the blue and gray uniforms of the Phiros family, with the latest version of the Vishra musket cross-body on their chests, a chainsaw and machete on their waists, and their legs stood straight together.

They have not been told the purpose of the trip, and this requires Geno to tell them in person.

Before this, these guards could only wait in the cold wind.

Fortunately, it didn't take long to wait, Geno finally came late while biting the bread.

In order to keep Niko in the room and not go out, Geno chatted with her for a long time, and even the reserved time exceeded a lot.

This time Geno brought his gathering musket and flight backpack.

Flames are essential to set fire to the mountains. Flying backpacks are for getting a better view from flying to high places.

"Hello, sir!" Geno was thinking about what to say to open remarks, but the three hundred people suddenly shouted together, with a huge momentum, which really scared him.

"Hello, comrades!" Geno calmed down on the surface, waved his hand and said symbolically, but in fact he was very nervous.

His eyes swept across the guards, and everyone's face was red with cold.

Geno cursed inwardly: "Damn, I'm so cold today!"

If he lets three hundred guards get frozen and wait for him alone, he will feel a little embarrassed even if he is too arrogant, not to mention that there are many women in the guards.

"Geno, you're late." Camille stood with his hands behind his back and spoke lightly.

She was still wearing that close-fitting tuxedo, her silver hair was combed to both sides of her forehead, meticulous and expressionless.

The cold had no effect on her.

"I know, you don't need to remind me..." Geno muttered and said loudly to the guards:

"Count the number of people in one minute! Check your belongings, whether the knives are worn, and whether the chainsaw musket has malfunctioned."

"Report to the chief, the counting of the people has been completed, a total of 300 people, and the equipment is normal!"

"Follow me!"

After counting the number of people, Geno waved his hand and left the manor with 300 people and trotted outside the city.

The leather boots stepped on the stone road and made uniform footsteps, and some small things were covered by the wave of sound.

At the back end of the team, a waiter accidentally had friction with the guards, but when the guard was about to blame the waiter, he found that he had misread the person in front of him was another guard.

"Come on, don't fall behind." The hit guard whispered.

"Okay... OK." The guard who hit the man naturally walked to the end of the team, sniffed his collar, and muttered in a low voice: "It smells so bad..."

...

On the way out of the city, Geno was stopped by Caitlin, and the police set up a cheque on the road.

"Please show your pass."

Due to the frequent accidents in the south of the city, the Picheng security guards simply restricted the land trade at the south gate. Without a special pass, no one can leave the city out of order.

Geno took out the pass prepared early in the morning and handed it to Caitlin. The guy was still wearing a dress, beautiful and frozen person.

"I said you don't have winter police uniforms?" Geno said caringly.

"No, but I have applied to the top." Caitlin focused on distinguishing the authenticity of the pass, and answered Geno's question after checking and confirming it.

"Then you can't add a pair of warm stockings or something?"

"No, the rules cannot be messed up. I am the sheriff and must set an example." Caitlin's tone had no room for detour, as if she was not the one who was frozen.

"It's not a rule." The white mist spit out from Geno's mouth. No one expected that the autumn this year would be so cold.

He knew that the so-called rules were just the bad taste of the big guys. Although Caitlin managed the police station, she still did not leave the category of the little guys, and could only abide by this inhumane rule.

"Be careful when cooking fires." Caitlin heard Geno's scolding and smiled in understanding. She inserted the pass back into his chest pocket, and patted it, making the pocket tighter to prevent the pass from falling out.

This intimate action caused a booing from her policemen, but she turned around and swept it coldly.

"Keep it well, otherwise you will have to spend the night outside the city gate if you lose it, which will make us accompany you to get frozen by the city gate."

"Okay, let's go."

After leaving the city gate, the cold wind became more and more unscrupulous.

As late autumn approaches, the plains on the outskirts of the city are bleak, while the forests not far away are lush and green. When the wind blows, they are swaying.

Stepping on the yellowed dead grass, heading south, almost every step you take, you can see the increasing greenness of the vegetation under your feet.

The plain turned into a mountain road. When it reached the border of the forest, the grass under its feet was enough to soak Geno's knees, and countless thorns were hidden in it, like poisonous snakes, and their skin would be cut off by accident.

There is a large forest in front of me, and it is even more vibrant and green, making people feel panicked.

Geno asked the guards to stop and wait for his news, cut off the solid vines with a machete and walked into the forest.

He found that once he entered the woods, the wind stopped.

The trees here are tall aquatic shrubs, which is unusual. These shrubs usually grow on the edges of rivers and in low troughs. This is a mountain range in the southern suburbs, and there has never been a river.

These shrubs only appeared yesterday, and now they have grown taller than the exterior walls of the Blue Smoked Manor. The branches of the trees extend out to each other, forming a deeper canopy, covering the sky and the sun, leaving only a faintly visible light.

They blocked the wind.

Moss covered the decaying bark, and with a gentle pull, dew flowed out, it looked like a primitive jungle. I could not imagine that this place was still a meadow yesterday.

The woods are very warm, and the wetness and coldness outside is not seen, but the inside is also wet. The solemn and wet fog appears abnormally in the rain forest in this weather. From time to time, large drops of condensation water droplets drip from the leaves on the head and fall into the water vortex at your feet. The sound of water droplets forms the only melody in the silence fog.

After the wind that I had been used to disappear, the rainforest seemed terriblely quiet.

Since entering this rainforest, a terrible feeling of being monitored has lingered in Geno's mind, as if it is everywhere, but it seems that it has never existed.

He patted his heart and Hex said it didn't feel anything unusual.

Geno left the rainforest on the same road, but was tripped by the vines. Although he did not fall, he discovered something even more terrible.

The vines that he had cut off had already grown new buds at the fracture in less than ten minutes. This growth seemed to be quietly proceeding where he did not notice. Once he looked at the vines, the thing stopped growing rapidly, no different from ordinary plants.

He looked down and saw that a few buds had climbed onto his upper.

He raised his legs suddenly, firmly lifted his knife to cut off the solid vines and heavy vegetation blocking the road, and ran out of the woods.
