Chapter 269 Dessert

Roger looked at the table full of snacks and knew a grape fruit plate.

He thought that if he did all of them, his stomach might not be able to be put down, but he didn't know which one to choose.

He glanced at the attendant serving beside him, wanted to ask, but hesitated.

The Lord of Renjing City has been talking to Mutelyi all the time, but he seems to be paying attention to Roger's condition at all times.

So before Roger could think about it, the city lord took advantage of Muttier's mouth to introduce it.

The city lord first recommended baklava.

He asked the "tableware" to take a piece and put it in his mouth, and he said while eating:

"This praline syrup is sweet but not greasy, with a unique flavor, and the surface is full of pistachio powder. This one is the most delicious when it was just released."

After the city lord finished his bite, he asked the "table utensils" to pick up another snack that looked like a small bread. He said:

"It is made by steaming bread and milk in rose water and steaming it with pomegranate seeds and walnuts."

Then the city lord asked the "tableware" to break a pastry that looked like camel's eyes, and he said:

"This is camel's eyes, made of wheat dough with jam in it."

Later, the city lord introduced the yeast cake (khameer) that was added with wheat dough and baked like puffed bread, accompanied by honey and cheese.

And a chebab made of flour, sugar and eggs, mixed with spices and saffron, and the fluffy golden pancakes are also topped with sweet date syrup.

Then the city lord strongly recommended a nut thousand-layer crisp (va) called "Baclava".

He said this is a very famous dessert with different flavors.

It is made of thin raw surfaces, contains various nuts and is covered with honey.

There are squares, diamonds and triangles.

Roger tasted it and it tasted crispy, rosy and crispy, sweet and fragrant.

It tastes great with thirst-quenching lemonade.

He praised, "Yeah, it's delicious."

The city lord laughed "hehe" and laughed happily, and the fat on his belly shook.

He seemed to think that Roger was his confidant and shared a common hobby with him.

Roger picked up another pastry next to Bakrava.

The city lord immediately asked his concubine to take a piece.

He introduced: "This is made of coquettish, drizzled with syrup and decorated with blanched almond nut cakes. This taste is a bit light, and with thick yogurt, it tastes a little better."

Roger tried as the city lord introduced, his mouth was thick and slippery.

He said: "Not bad."

The city lord was excited, as if Roger was praising him.

He pointed to a basin of fried croquettes and said, "Try this sugar-fried croquette again. It's delicious, one bite at a time."

Roger accepted it happily.

He spooned a ball and put it in his mouth, and felt that the shell was crispy and delicious, and the filling was soft and fluffy.

He tasted it and it was probably made of fermented flour wrapped in saffron. After the noodles were fried, they were drizzled with date syrup.

Roger felt it was too sweet, so he asked the attendant for some drink.

The servant brought the fruit dew, which was scented with roses and tamarind.

Roger asked for a cup of tamarind, and the sourness of tamarind neutralized the sweetness in his mouth.

He said: "It's just a little too sweet."

The big belly city lord obviously loves sweets, and he ate two fried sugar balls in one bite on the left and one bite on the right.

Then the city lord happily recommended another dessert to Roger:

“Then try this ‘Kunafa’, this is not too sweet.

“This is the recipe from Egypt, the most famous dessert, an absolutely good thing.

"Empress, you must give it a try."

Roger saw a dessert like a bird's nest in the golden basin.

He felt that he would break it once he grabbed it, and hesitated and didn't know what to do.

The city lord may have misunderstood and thought Roger didn't like it.

He asked his concubine to grab a handful and put it in his mouth, eating it all over his beard.

While chewing, he said contentedly: "It's delicious, delicious.

“This dessert originated from the Fatima dynasty and it is complicated to make.

“The method is to add water to the white flour and make a dough, place a large plate or pan over the heat and fry the cheese on top.

“Put the dough in a colander, pick up the spoon and shake it, so that the dough leaks into thin strips from the holes of the spoon and falls onto the heated pan.

"Then put hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts and sugar between each layer of kunafa and layer on top of it."

After the city lord introduced it, he whispered again: "It's delicious!"

So Roger also learned to taste it, and it tasted really good.

He said: "It's better than the one I just did."

The city lord laughed happily, and the debris in his mouth sprayed out "poof".

He didn't care about it himself, and he had his own concubine to clean it up for him.

He pointed at a dessert in the middle of the table like offering treasures.

He said: "Um Ali umm    ali."

Muttier translated: "Ali Mama."

Roger joked: "Is it Ali's mother? Not Ali's father?"

Muttier stared and said, "Will this be wrong? Of course it's mother.

“The Turkic father is ata.

"Besides, what he just spoke in Arabic, not Turkic, this snack is an Arabic snack.

"You didn't forget Arabic, would you? Why would I teach you again?"

Roger smirked "hehe".

Of course he did not forget Arabic, he just cheered himself up and made jokes that others couldn't understand.

Roger looked at the dessert carefully.

It's like a kind of cream pudding, but with pastry and breadcrumbs, layered.

Sprinkle pistachios, dried coconut flakes, seedless raisins and date flakes.

Milk, cream and sugar should also be drizzled before baking.

Roger took a bite reluctantly, and it tasted great, but unfortunately his stomach couldn't hold it anymore.

So the dessert was over after meals, and the pots and jars were removed.

The city lord clapped his hands and said, "Let's have a cup of coffee together."

A pretty servant came in with an incense burning burning.

Roger asked Henk to drive the servant out.

He hates burning incense in a closed room, especially in unfamiliar environments.

The other servant, who was lined up behind, holding a basin of spice in his hand, was suddenly at a loss and stood there.

The city lord hurriedly explained: "We have a set of rituals to drink coffee here, including burning incense, sprinkling spices, smelling fragrances, and appreciating the coffee maker, which spices..."

Roger said firmly: "No, I don't like it."

The Lord of Renjing City hurriedly waved his hand and asked the servant to leave.

Then a servant brought in a small stove.

Roger wanted to drive him away, but thought that this might be an essential tool for making coffee, so he ordered the servant to put the small stove in the ventilation area at the door.

Then came a man with a high-necked nose with a clean and tidy hair care.

According to the city lord, this is the barista he specially hired.

The barista kneeled in front of the small stove and began to make coffee like performing an oriental tea ceremony.

Roger looked at the barista and took out the thick black coffee beans from a golden jar and started roasting and stir-frying.

Of course, the people here would not keep watching, so they started chatting.
