Chapter 44 Harvest(2/2)

Lawrence complimented: "If you want to be prestige, in all Jerusalem, you are no less than Baldwin.

"After all, your military achievements are obvious. The flames of Ashkelen and the dragons flying in the sky are all your works, and everyone sees them."

Roger deliberately looked around and pretended to be looking at the scenery, not taking over Lawrence's stubbornness.

Lawrence then changed the topic and said: "The story of Queen Adelaide has spread throughout our noble circle."

Roger looked at Lawrence squintedly and said, "You are very informed."

Lawrence said: "Baardwin has our people around us.

"Oh, we knew from the beginning the dispute between you and Baldwin.

"So we know, you must dare to contradict Baldwin."

Lawrence paused, as if to prove what he said was true, and he said, "Badwin's sword wound on his chest is still the one you left behind."

Roger narrowed his eyes, and he thought that there were only four people present at that time.

Apart from himself and Baldwin, there was only Baldwin's personal guard captain and the servant who was afraid of the way he could not walk.

And when they heard Lawrence's tone, they knew everything about Baldwin.

This is not something the attendant who happened to be present could do.

So it can only be the captain of the guard.

Roger glanced at Henk, and this stupid look calm.

Roger said to Lawrence: "You can, you can buy such people too."

Lawrence said "humblely": "It's not a question of bribery. It's just his own people, they all work for the kingdom.

"Isn't this a while ago Baldwin was seriously ill and disappeared alone, and his men were anxious.

“If Baldwin died, they would have no support.

"So it's normal for me to find a way out for myself in advance."

Roger noticed that Lawrence was talking about "them", not "him".

Roger thought, not knowing whether Baldwin knew, that he had been penetrated like a sieve around him.

But this matter has nothing to do with me, and I am not interested in reminding Baldwin.

Roger turned the topic back and said, "Since you already know that Baldwin and I have had a falling out, why do you think I can change his mind?"

Lawrence said with a frown: "Isn't this impossible?"

Roger smiled. He looked at Lawrence now, like a weasel looking at a chicken delivered to his door.
