Chapter 50 The King's Heart (The Finale)(1/2)
Baldwin was still nagging.
Henk reminded Roger that the troops opposite were approaching.
Those soldiers may have noticed the abnormality here.
Baldwin's personal guards were not bribed.
They hesitated, their eyes moving back and forth between Baldwin and Roger, not seeming to know what to do.
Roger realized that killing Baldwin under the eyes of the public was not a good idea.
He thought that although the nobles promised to cover up for themselves, with so many witnesses, it is difficult to guarantee that they would change their words because they could not hide them, such as pushing all the responsibilities on themselves.
Roger looked at Baldwin again, the object he wanted to revenge.
He suddenly had a crazy idea.
Roger suppressed the tremor all over his body and said, "I want it too!"
Baldwin didn't pay attention to Roger, he seemed to want to say enough before he died.
Roger was half-true and half-false and said loudly:
"I want to leave my name forever!"
Roger's words caught Baldwin's attention.
The other party said, "What? Roger, what do you mean?"
Roger pretended to be excited and said, "I want to join your plan, go to Cairo, and conquer it."
"Then let's go and destroy all the 'Master's Relics'."
Baldwin didn't expect things to turn around, and he said blankly: "But this is my plan..."
Roger interrupted: "This is not the throne, it can only be borne by one person.
"There are many 'Relics of the Holy Holy One'. If you smash one, I will burn one. If you destroy another one, I will destroy another one...
“We can do this together.
"Then, our two names can be passed down through the ages."
Baldwin reacted: "That's the case, it seems to be OK."
Roger bewitched: "I brought 600 people, of which 500 Norman heavy cavalry were completely obeying my orders.
“As for the Bedouin people, they were Mullins, and they came with me for money.
"We can let them rob and send them away after conquering Cairo..."
Baldwin interrupted Roger and said, "Roger, are you serious?"
Roger said: "Of course, the Bedouin people are Mullins after all, and they can't destroy the 'Madison's Relics' in front of them."
Baldwin waved his broken palms like he was driving a flies, he said:
"I'm not talking about the Bedouin people, but dealing with them is just a casual excuse.
"I mean, you really decided to follow me?"
Roger suddenly looked calm and he said seriously:
"I'm not following you, I'm just working with you for the time being.
"After all, my soldiers are not enough to capture Cairo.
"But this does not mean that I forgive you. I will settle the score with you until we have finished processing the 'Master's Relics'."
Baldwin's face turned red from excitement, and he laughed and said:
"Isn't it just to kill me? No problem, I'll give it to you.
"As long as you can destroy the 'relics of the Prophet', as long as you can keep your name forever, it doesn't matter if you lose your life."
Baldwin turned his head to look at the rebellious guards. The men received Roger's instructions and put down the sword that was erected on Baldwin's head and neck.
He said, “Even though you betrayed me, I have decided to forgive you.
“I am not out of tolerance, I just don’t want to waste any Christian fighting power.
"I even allow you to continue to be my personal guards, and as long as you are willing to contribute your own strength in the battle with the pagans, I can care nothing."
So Roger and Baldwin reached a reconciliation and formed a temporary alliance.
Everyone camped by the Nile River, and they washed away the dust and sweat from their bodies in the river.
That night, Faisal and Captain Scout were sent out by Roger to explore the way.
The next day, led by the Bedouin people who received Roger's new instructions, the Christians headed towards the south.
On March 26, 1118, the birth of Jesus.
Early that morning, Roger and Baldwin's Allies arrived in front of a huge city on the side of the Nile River.
An Arab dressed in a scholar, waiting on the roadside with Faisal and Captain Scout.
When Roger saw them, he happily stepped forward to say hello to the scholar:
"Hi, Mutelyi, I'm so happy to see you."
Muttier saluted Roger respectfully.
Baldwin on the side showed a puzzled look.
Roger introduced to Baldwin: "This is my intelligence chief, Muthier, who had arrived in Jerusalem with me before.
"I sent him to Cairo to collect intelligence, and he did a great job."
Then he said to Muthel: "This is Baldwin, the king of Jerusalem."
Muthier immediately saluted Baldwin, and he said respectfully: "Your Majesty, welcome to Cairo."
Baldwin, who was depressed because of his illness, was refreshed and said happily:
"Is this Cairo? It's finally here.
"Then what are you waiting for? Let's attack!"
Roger grabbed the reins of Baldwin's horse and he advised:
"Please wait a moment, my intelligence manager will not appear here for no reason.
"Anyway, Cairo won't run away by itself. What's the hurry? Let's listen to what Muttier said first."
Baldwin muttered, "If you are like me, you either throw away a finger every morning or dig a rotten bone from the soles of your feet that have long since fallen off your toes, you will be anxious."
But Muttery's words made Baldwin realize that waiting for this little time is extremely necessary.
Muttier said: "I successfully developed a downline.
"The man named Geb, who could not stand the death of his newborn son, his daughter was taken away, and he was called around as a servant, and he was determined to follow me.
“He knew an officer guarding the city gate and had a good relationship.
“After I learned that you would come today, I arranged for him to find the officer and brought mint green tea mixed with mandala.
"Now, I guess he has succeeded, and that city gate should be out of defense."
Baldwin said excitedly, “Ahh, this must be God’s will, He knows my plan, is clearing the way for me.
"Why are you still standing there? Lead the way and lead us into the city."
Roger advised: "It's better to send someone in to control the city defense first, and then it's safer for you and I to go in."
Baldwin waved his hand indifferently and said, "I don't have time anymore, I'm not afraid of death, God will bless me."
So under the guidance of Muthyi, Christians rushed into Cairo through the city gate.
Under the order of Baldwin, who was leading the horse, his troops scattered and fought fiercely with the pagan soldiers who had reacted in the city.
Baldwin himself rushed straight to the "Sanctuary" in the city with his personal guards.
Roger led his troops and followed the anxious Baldwin.
He watched the other party rushing all the way, and at all costs he rushed out a bloody path and rushed into the temple.
Roger ordered his troops to unfold and control the temple.
So the Norman heavy cavalry, led by Muttier and Geb, attacked the temple and its surrounding houses.
Roger saw that they had caught many women dressed like ancient Egyptians in murals.
The Gaibo cursed and slashed them one by one.
After Odin reported that the temple had been cleaned up, Roger led Henk and his guards into it.
In a messy temple, Roger saw Baldwin roaring.
“Where is it? Where is the ‘Relics of the Prophet’? Why can’t you find it?!
"Find it for me! Everyone will look for it!"
The guards who had no rebellion rushed into the depths of the temple after receiving the order.
To be continued...
