Chapter 26 Late Night (Part 1)
"Hey! Is Mozi really in such an alley?" Ding Ke looked at Luluen suspiciously.
"My 'inspiration' stunt tells me that it's here, but my 'inspiration' rarely makes mistakes!" Luluen replied, and then the torch that was leaning forward in her hand burned up a spider web. The "inspiration" stunt is a very rare stunt, which provides additional clue panels when players seek clues. Just when Ding Ke brought them to the street, he saw a large area of torch light coming from the end of the street from afar. The center of the street was full of corpses, and then several people ran into the alley next to him. Just when they were surprised, Luluen's "inspiration" stunt triggered.
"I rushed into the alley just now!" Luluen shouted at the place where the few people just disappeared in front of him.
So the members of the Ghost Sword Brigade immediately carried the torches into the alley. Luluen, Dingke and Bermu formed a group. Now they have been searching in the complex alley for a long time, and from time to time they can hear other members shouting Mozi's names. Gradually, they are getting closer and closer to Canjin River.
"On there!" Suddenly a man shouted, Ding Ke dragged his sword and rushed towards the direction where the sound came. Bermu also held a cross gun and followed closely behind. Luluen turned into the alley next to him, looking for a route that could go around the person making that sound based on the intelligence panel provided by his own stunt.
Luluen heard a faint sound of fighting as she was walking around, as if it was the sound of the piles of wicker boxes being knocked down, but she didn't care much, but continued to move forward. Then she rushed out of a narrow and dark alley and blocked an intersection. She turned her head and saw three frightened players.
"What are you doing?! It turns out that he is a human! I thought it was a boss ambush!" The man in front said in a complaining tone. Luluen heard his voice. He was the one who just shouted. "Hey! Little girl! Don't run around in such a place! Otherwise, if you are injured by accident, don't blame us!" The man said dissatisfiedly to the person who was blocking them.
"Oops." Luluen sighed.
"Ha?" The players looked at her in confusion.
Then the sound of metal touching the stone bricks came from behind them, "Did someone mention it...accidentally injured?" Ding Ke's cold voice came, "Who do you want to hurt by mistake?"
"Hey! What do you want to do?!" a man shouted in horror.
"Stop it!"
"Back! Go back! This crazy woman is holding a big sword!"
The great sword danced violently in the narrow alleyway, and the broken wooden barrel beside it was chopped to pieces. The lady's great sword drew a fire on the wall. The torch that mercenaries raised to block the great sword was also cut off by the great sword. For a moment, the man's screams and the sound of the great sword waving, and the harsh sound of the metal cutting the wall resounded through the alley.
"Ding Ke! Stop playing!" Belle finally couldn't help but stop him.
"Tsk." Ding Ke made a dissatisfied voice, but he still stopped honestly.
Luluen couldn't help but sigh at the three men lying on the ground in front of him who were lying back. "Hey, I'll ask you," Berber walked to Ding Ke with a torch. "Have you ever seen a girl holding a big knife and wearing a ponytail?"
"That Western Frontier player?" the player closest to Ballet said in a daze, "She...she followed the monster and chased into this alley."
What else was Balem trying to ask, suddenly a shrill scream came from a distance. The sound was ugly and the monster seemed not to be a scream that humans could make. Is it a monster? Is the monster dead? Luluen looked in the direction where the sound came, and then she suddenly realized that it was the direction where the fighting sound had been heard before.
"Is it over?" A player immediately got up from the ground, "No way?! Is it over? Is the monster's head snatched away?!"
"Damn it!" Another player who stood up threw the iron sword in his hand to the ground, then pointed at Ding Ke behind Belle angrily and cursed, "It's all because of you, a crazy woman! I lost my three bags of gold coins!"
"What did you say?!" Ding Ke immediately wanted to have an attack, but was stopped by Balme.
"Then the last one!" Luluen immediately chased in that direction, and Belle also followed her silently. The three players wanted to curse at them at first, but as soon as Belle approached, the tall body brought by her barbarian physique made the three people swallow the words. Then Ding Ke also dragged the sword and walked over from the three people with a disdainful look.
"What are you going to do?" After the three women walked away, one of the players couldn't help but curse.
"Shut up, you idiot, do you want to kill us?!" Another man suddenly whispered, stunned the other two, "Didn't you see their cloaks?"
"What cloak?" The man was puzzled, "It seems to be red and blue... red and blue... Could it be..."
"Ghost Sword Brigade?!" Another person said, "No wonder all three of them are women! They are actually Ghost Sword Brigade!"
"It's not just the Ghost Sword Brigade, you two idiots!" The nervous man looked at the direction of the departure of the three Ghost Sword Brigade members, "Have you never heard of the 'Demon of Lake Fran'?!"
"The Demon...Isn't the 'Scarlet Rose' what I think of when it comes to the Ghost Sword Brigade? Why did another demon appear?"
"Oh! Speaking of which, your kid's initial location was by Lake Fran?"
"That's right, the 'Demon of Lake Fran' is the same as that 'mad dog'! A mad woman holding a big sword! She is a vicious PVP player wanted by 'Neon Hall'!"
"Malignant PVP player?!"
"Hey, you wouldn't want to say...that was that just now?"
"Ah, my friend from the guild once told me that someone saw the 'demon' following the people from the Ghost Sword Brigade..."
"Really fake..."
"Are we just talking to the real wanted criminal..."
...
"Ah Yeh!"
"Can it be a cold?" Berham asked, "Is it possible to catch a cold in the game?"
"It's dusty, dusty." Or is someone talking bad things behind my back? Ding Ke thought suspiciously.
"Here!" Luluen suddenly shouted in front of him, and Balme and Ding Ke rushed over immediately.
Turning over an intersection, I saw Luluen and the lying on the ground. "Mo Zi!" Ding Ke squeezed past Belle and rushed up quickly, "Mo Zi!!!"
"Don't worry! I haven't died yet, but my blood volume is very low, and I seem to have suffered a serious injury!" Luluen, who had examined the wound, said to the anxious Ding Ke.
"Damn it! That masked bastard! In the end..." Ding Ke couldn't help cursing, but when she turned her head, she saw that the "masked bastard" was standing at the end of the alley, where the bank of the Canjin River was on the bank opposite, and the fire from the fire on the opposite river bank was flashing. At the foot of the man was a burning corpse. The black sword in the man's hand drooped and blood dripped.
"Is it the enemy?" Belle, who was standing behind Ding Ke, whispered.
"No... it's not the enemy..." Ding Ke murmured, then she stood up, "at least not for the time being." As she said that, she dragged her big sword towards the man.
"Ding Ke." Mo Zi, who was lying on the ground, called softly.
"I'll come over immediately, wait a moment." Ding Ke said without looking back.
After Ding Ke approached, he found that the burning corpse had no head, while the masked man was just standing there quietly waiting for her to approach. "Where is the monster?" Ding Ke walked out of the alley and came to the river bank. She looked left and right. The flames in the brazier on the empty river bank were beating with the river wind. She suddenly found that only the brazier at the exit of the alley was extinguished.
"Here." The man pointed to the headless corpse on the ground. Ding Ke then found that he was holding a half-charred head in his hand. Yes, it was a human head, not a monster. The corpse on the ground was just a human in size.
"Are you kidding?" Ding Ke asked suspiciously.
The man did not answer. "Where is Hemi?" the man looked behind her and asked, "Where has she been?"
"Who?" Ding Ke was puzzled, but immediately reacted, "That little girl? Don't worry, she is very safe now. She is probably drinking hot milk by the stove in the tavern." As he said that, Ding Ke squatted down next to the burning corpse. Although he couldn't see the details of the corpse, the intelligence panel still told her something, "It's obviously burned, but the fire has not yet been extinguished."
"If this kind of thing is handed over to the lord, he will definitely not admit it!" Ding Ke asked, frowned and looked at the masked man.
He still didn't answer. "Leave your head to you, take me to pick Hemi." The man said in his ugly hoarse voice.
"Tsk, who wants this stinky head? You can wait here." Ding Ke said that, he didn't even look at the man, and then walked back to the alley. She quietly turned around and found that the masked man was indeed standing there waiting.
When Ding Ke returned to his companion, Mozi was already supported by Luluen.
"Has that man killed the monster?" Berlem asked with a frown.
"That's right," Ding Ke shrugged, "but it's useless."
“‘It’s useless’?”
"Compared to this, isn't Mo Zi okay?"
"The emergency treatment has been done, but the monster's attack is still very heavy. I need to ask Sister Meka for help in treatment." Luluen said.
"Mo Zi?" Ding Ke suddenly found the expressionless girl looking behind her. Ding Ke turned around and the man was still standing there. "What's wrong?" Ding Ke turned his head and looked at Mo Zi in confusion.
"That person..." Mozi said in a low voice, "That person... doesn't seem to be hurt."
"Really!" Ding Ke suddenly remembered something and turned around angrily, "What are you doing? This guy! He actually let the woman rush to the front, but he hid and stole the head?! I'll teach him a lesson!"
"Hey! Ding Ke, don't do anything randomly!" Berle spoke to stop her. She looked at the man, feeling a little dangerous...
"No, Ding Ke," Mozi suddenly said, "No."
"What's wrong?" Ding Ke turned around.
"He is the one who has been in the front all the time," Mozi tilted his head, "But... why, wasn't he injured?"
They couldn't answer Mo Zi's question. This was indeed very strange, but after all, they were not on the scene, so they couldn't tell what was going on, so they could only remain silent about it.
"Forget it," Berham said as he took something out of the "backpack". "Since you have found the last one, let's gather back." Then she raised the thing in her hand, then pulled the lead on it, and with a harsh sound, a purple flame rushed into the sky and disappeared into the night sky.
"Hey, this is what the Liehua gave to the president? It looks very useful! Ballerina, give me some!" Ding Ke said excitedly as he looked at the purple fire that disappeared in the sky.
"No, this is not a toy!" Berme refused decisively.
...
As the signal flare was launched, more and more women wearing blue and red cloaks walked over from the dark alley with torches. As the number of people increased, they also walked from the alley to the river bank. At night, the river bank that was supposed to be deserted was now filled with girls saying this. From time to time, Joel, who was standing far away, was waiting patiently. Although he wanted to leave like this, he endured it when he thought of Hemi.
Finally, more than twenty people came, wearing red and blue cloaks. Although they had long guessed that they belonged to the same group, what Joel did not expect was that all the members of this group were women. Are women on the battlefield? Joel thought silently, but he shook his head again. They were mercenaries on the battlefield. Mercenaries cannot be distinguished by gender.
After the crowd gathered, Ding Ke, who was carrying a big sword, came over again. She still looked arrogant. "Hey!" she shouted at him, "Follow us and keep a certain distance!" She said this, which made several women laugh. Joel didn't say anything, but still obeyed her words.
Joel followed the women walking towards the stone bridge crossing the river in far away, holding the semi-burned head in one hand. Because the head had no hair, Joel used a bandage to wrap it around and lift it in his hand. But as Ding Ke said, if the head was taken to the lord, the lord probably wouldn't admit it, after all, no matter how you look at it, it was just an ordinary human head.
As we continued walking, the women of the Ghost Sword Brigade all crossed the stone bridge. Joel raised his head and the old man's ghost was waiting for him in front of him. When Joel approached, he followed him side by side. Where have you been? Although with such questions, Joel was tired and didn't even think about talking. He didn't know how many new injuries he had added to his body. Every step was a challenge for Joel, but for some reason, he might have been accustomed to such a situation. Joel did not fall down easily, but was dragged by a thread like a stiff puppet.
"Is that... that thing?" the old man suddenly asked. Joel knew he was referring to the head in his hand.
"Yeah." He replied tiredly.
"It's true..." The old man nodded thoughtfully.
Joel turned his head and looked at the old guy, "Do you know something?"
"So too." The old man glanced at Joel and said.
Joel did not speak, but reached out to take out the thing from the "backpack". A bubble seemed to burst and disappear with a slight pinch. There were two balls of fog with a faint gray-blue fog. The fog kept rolling. From time to time, Joel could see two twisted faces emerging from the fog, one was a painful human face and the other was a dull fish face. And while Joel was watching the bubble, a translucent box appeared in his field of vision:
Soul bubbles contain two soul bubbles. According to legend, Lady Algae will put the souls of the drowning person into the bubbles, and the souls in it will be liberated when the bubbles float on the bottom of the water.
But what happens if a bubble is so heavy that it cannot float to the surface?
It is no way to know whether it is because of a curse or because a bubble contains two souls, which makes it unable to float to the surface.
Magic props can temporarily obtain the ability to breathe underwater temporarily.
"It is not a resurrection." Joel said lightly. A resurrection would not die so easily. Joel thought no one knew better than himself.
"It's true," the old man nodded, "it just turned the vitality into a monster because of the 'curse with divinity'."
"Attached... divinity?" Joel looked at the old man again, putting the blisters in his hand back into his backpack again.
"Just like the demigod 'Lengleaf Lady' I mentioned before, she who has obtained the divine nature will live and die forever because of her divine nature. This is the best example." The old man explained. While the conversation, the two of them had already traveled across the stone bridge with the Ghost Sword and arrived at the sluice area.
"The curse of gods may also have divine nature. There are also many such examples in the legend. Buffett, the werewolf cursed by the Goddess of Mad Moon, was immortal. He fought for three consecutive nights and did not die. He was not killed until he fought to the end of the fight. The lord of Gray Lake City ordered the werewolf to be fixed with iron chains and nails on the stone tablet engraved with praise for the Goddess of Mad Moon and then threw it into Lake Fran, which ended the legend of Buffett."
"Aren't they all... all the people who have come back from the dead?" Joel pondered something.
"It should be like this," the old man nodded, "That guy is like that."
"That guy" refers to the owner of the head that Joel was holding in his hand. Does it curse? Joel sighed. Gods are really complicated.
