Chapter 10 Mercy

Wusheng chanted the Heart Sutra of Prajna Paramita in a low voice. After chanting it more than ten times, the terrifying scene in his mind became faint and blurred, and no longer so scary. After chanting it more than twenty times, the panic gradually disappeared and his mind calmed down. After chanting it more than thirty times, there was a calmness, and there was nothing else except the scriptures.

Opening his eyes again, the sky was blue and the sun was shining brightly. He looked outside, then got up and went out of the courtyard, and found that Monk Kongxu was digging a hole with a broken gun. When he looked at the dead people on the ground, his eyes were closed and the blood stains on the wound were also cleaned. Looking at Monk Kongxu, who was covered in sweat, the sun shone on his body, and there seemed to be a faint light all over him. At this moment, he admired this master who had come out of thin air.

These dead people were aiming at them with swords and guns last night, trying to imprison them. If Gu Siying had not appeared, waiting for them might have been various tortures, and life would be worse than death. Today, Monk Kongxu also collected the bodies and buried them for them, and absolutely repaying their grievances with kindness. This practice is indeed admirable. If it were Wusheng, it would never have been like this.

"Master, don't you hate them?"

"Hate? Does a group of dead people make sense?" Kongxu smiled after hearing this, "that will only torture himself."

"Master, you are so generous. I can't do it. If someone else had done so, they might have whipped the corpse and vented their anger." Wusheng said.

If it were him, he would never be able to do this, and this is repaying his grudges with kindness.

Kongxu just smiled after hearing this.

"It feels better?"

"It's much better, you can rest for a while, I'll do it." Wusheng jumped out of the earth tunnel.

"Okay, I'll take a break, too."

Just sit aside when you are empty.

It rained all night yesterday, and the land was muddy and soft. After digging for a while, Wusheng felt his hands and feet sore, panting, and sweating all over.

"If you are tired, take a break." said empty-handedly.

"Master, aren't you afraid of those dead people?" Wusheng said.

"I'm not afraid when I'm alive. People are dead, so what's there to be afraid of?" Kongxu said.

"I mean the expression and eyes when they died."

"When I first saw a dead person, I was as scared as you, and even let me not be as scared as you. Later, I saw more and I didn't feel scared." Kongxu said.

“You’ve seen it many times?”

"Where will no one die in this world?" Kongxu sighed.

The master and disciple spent a whole morning digging out a large pit that was enough to bury these people, and then they told them that the dead soldiers were carried into the pit.

When looking at these dead soldiers, I didn’t think it was terrible, but I just felt extremely heavy when I lifted it up.

A small mound of soil was buried underneath it.

"Amitabha." Kongxu clasped his hands together.

Namo Amitoba Ye Dotagadoye

Dodiye, Amiya Dupopi

Amiyadosi Danpapi

Amidadovijalan

...

Monk Kongxu recited a passage of scripture.

"I wish you to enter the cycle of reincarnation early and there will be no more pain."

"What sutra did Master just recite?"

"Mantra of rebirth." The empty way.

"Those who saved the dead?"

"yes."

After reciting the scriptures, Wusheng felt that something was more than something that could be explained clearly or explained.

After burying these dead people, they continued to set off on their way. When it was dark, they rushed to Ningjia Village and found a family to make some vegetarian food to fill their stomachs. They could not be considered full, but they could only say that they were not hungry.

It was so late that I couldn't continue on the road, so I had to find a place to spend the night.

"Master, you won't spend the night in that broken house, right?" Wusheng said.

"You have a better place?"

"No, I would rather sleep on the street." Wusheng said.

"After night, the coolness is quite heavy. Sleeping on the street is prone to cold. Moreover, you see, it has just rained and the ground is full of mud. How can you rest?" Kongxu said.

"Don't fool me anymore. I have decided not to go to that dilapidated house." Wusheng said.

"Okay, I will accompany you as my teacher." Monk Kongxu said.

The two monks walked around the village, but they really couldn't find a dry place. Because it had just rained and there was mud and water everywhere, they had no choice but to come to the broken house again. Standing outside, looking at the weeds in the yard, thinking about what happened that night, Wusheng really didn't want to go in.

Even though you know there are ghosts inside, you still have to go in. What kind of behavior is this?

Even though you know that there is a tiger in the mountain, you will be brave and fearless, and if you say it badly, you will be desperate.

"No life."

"Master, let's go to Xiaohong's house." Wusheng said.

"She is a female donor, and we two monks, do you think it's appropriate? People know that they can gossip." Kongxu said.

"We have no ghosts in our hearts, let them say go." Wusheng said.

"What are you afraid of if you don't have a ghost in your heart? Besides, we are not afraid of gossip, how about donors?" Kongxu said.

"Okay, I can't tell you. I'm not going to say anything about you. If there is a ghost, I'll call you right away."

"Okay." said Huo.

The two of them entered the dilapidated house and found a relatively clean place to clean up.

Through the holes on the roof, you can see the sky outside, with clouds covering half the moon and hazy night.

The village is very quiet, with occasionally a few dogs barking.

Hum, Hum, just when Wusheng was still in vain, snoring sounded beside him. When he turned around, he saw that Guxu was already asleep.

There is no one else in this sleep quality!

Monk Wusheng was lying on the ground. The ground was very hard and thin, and he could feel the chill. He was not sleepy at all.

Wow, the wind was blowing outside again, creaking, and the broken doors and windows shaking with the wind, making a sour sound.

Hearing this sound, he sat up suddenly and looked out, and the same was true when the white-clothed ghost appeared last time.

Won't come again, right?

After waiting for a while, the ghost did not appear.

"Why didn't you come?" Wu Sheng took a deep breath, got up and walked to the window, and looked outside. Under the moonlight, the weeds swayed in the wind, and the outside was quiet.

No?

Just as he was about to turn around, there was a biting chill behind him, as if outdoors in the middle of winter were so cold that it was difficult for people to breathe.

Behind him, less than ten feet, there was a "person" floating, his feet were one foot away from the ground, his arms were hung, his long white hair was covered, his face, and only a blood-red eye was exposed, slowly stretching out his thin fingers like chicken feet, approaching the monk who was facing his back.

When Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva practices the deep Prajna Paramita, he sees that the five aggregates are empty and overcomes all sufferings.

Wusheng did not look back and recited the scriptures, his body trembled slightly.

After a while, the chill behind me gradually dissipated.

After reciting it dozens of times, the fear in my heart disappeared, and I had no other thoughts, so I recited the scriptures with all my heart.
