Four hundred and thirtieth chapters cloud of suspicion

Updated: 2012-09-09

Anderson Air Force Base, Guam.

At the Global Hawk Ground Control Center, the main controller Sheffield looked at the Chinese fighter jets appearing on the Global Hawk radar very strangely. They looked south and then turned north like headless flies. They couldn't figure out what subjects these three old-fashioned J-7s were training.

When Cheng Chongjin's fighter jets attacked at full speed, and when the fighter jets were close to the 300-kilometer range of Global Hawk, the synthetic aperture radar of Global Hawk had accurately scanned these three old fighters, and quickly identified the rough model of the fighter jets as the j-7 series. For most models of radar-acting aircraft with a radar range of less than 30 kilometers, Global Hawk quickly identified only a slight threat.

Because these fighter jets were at full speed at the Global Hawk, Sheffield was in danger of being in danger. For safety reasons, after flying about 100 kilometers southward, it still controlled the Global Hawk to fly more than 100 kilometers eastward in the shape of Z to avoid the aggressive Chinese fighter jets.

Then when she saw Sheffield watching the Chinese J-7 fighter jets flying neatly towards the south, she felt that her actions were a bit conservative. These Chinese fighter jets seemed to be just performing some kind of conventional flight, and she was really suspicious.

Sheffield didn't know that his unintentional action allowed Global Hawks to avoid Cheng Chongjin and their first interception.

When Sheffield controlled the Global Hawk to conduct routine reconnaissance on the coastline about 70 kilometers away from mainland China, he turned a blind eye to the Chinese fighter jets that were turning back below. Not to mention that the Global Hawk is now forty or fifty kilometers away from them, even if they are about ten kilometers away from these Chinese fighter jets, the Global Hawk, which has a strong radar stealth effect in the fuselage, will not be discovered by the other party.

In this regard, Sheffield, which commanded the Global Hawk to appear on the coast of mainland China dozens of times, has strong confidence. Even though it has encountered countless of the most advanced Su-27 or J-10 models in mainland China, the Global Hawk has not been discovered by airborne radars, let alone these second-generation aircraft that should have been eliminated long ago.

Looking at the Chinese J-7 fighter jet that was returning, Sheffield smiled contemptuously. This kind of old aircraft basically has little reconnaissance value. For the main fighter jets in service in the US military, such fighter jets are just target aircraft that waste missiles.

He continued to control the Global Hawks without any concern, and he was not worried about the two sides about to pass by in the air. In fact, the distance between the two sides was at least 20 kilometers apart. For aircraft flying at high speed in the air, this distance can basically be regarded as passing by.

However, Sheffield was not worried at all. This encounter was nothing different from usual. The Global Hawk and the two old Chinese fighter jets not only had a horizontal distance of more than 20 kilometers, but also had a height of several thousand meters. The Global Hawk could clearly "see" the passing of Chinese fighter jets, but for Chinese fighter jets, the Global Hawk was as silent as a shadow.

So Sheffield looked at the small dots on the radar screen of the two Chinese fighters very easily and picked up a cup of steaming coffee. This is the gap. He could stay in a comfortable room and remotely control the fighter thousands of kilometers away to do everything he wanted to do, but these Chinese pilots had to work hard to run in the air.

Sheffield knows very well that the Chinese J-7, an old fighter that was derived from the MiG old model. As the biggest opponent in the Asia-Pacific region, reconnaissance pilots like Sheffield know almost everything about Chinese fighter jets, and they know very well that the performance parameters of each fighter. As far as he knows, it is not easy and pleasant to pilot this model half a century ago.

While drinking coffee in Sheffield, Cheng Chongjin was indeed not very happy. Not only was he unhappy, but he was about to be driven crazy. Tong Fangyong drove Hunter 3 to search back in the target airspace for nearly 100 kilometers, but he got nothing! Cheng Chongjin and Li Dashan drove Hunter 1 and Hunter 2 to search north for 100 kilometers, but also found nothing.

Looking at the monitoring system that had no reaction at all, Cheng Chongjin was so upset that he wanted to drive the fighter plane directly into the sea!

"Hunter 1, this is not enough." Li Dashan was particularly overwhelmed. "We have been flying more than 800 kilometers and have used half of the fuel tank. It seems that it will not take long to return, but this damn Global Hawk hasn't even touched his hair. Could we guess its movements wrong?"

Now even if we guess wrong, what can we do? Cheng Chongjin really wants to refute it, but these two orders were all given by himself, so he really had no shame to say this. "Perseverely, maybe our flight speed was too fast just now, and the surveillance system missed it before we could react." Cheng Chongjin just suppressed his impatient mood and comforted Li Dashan. This also comforted his restless heart.

Just after he finished speaking, a strange voice suddenly came from Cheng Chongjin's communicator, "Hunter 1, I am Hunter 1, what's the situation now?" Hunter 1 is the code name of Qin Tairan in this mission. Of course, Cheng Chongjin knew that this person was the biggest leader of this mission, so he felt aggrieved.

Although Qin Tairan and Duke, who were further away, took off and came south as soon as they received the message, Duke soon received information that the global eagle had lost its trace from the ground surveillance system in the south, so everyone's hope was placed on Cheng Chongjin's squadron.

But more than half an hour passed, but no news came from Cheng Chongjin and the others. Qin Tairan and Duke felt something was wrong, because there was no news, which means that Cheng Chongjin and the others did not bite the Global Hawk immediately before the monitoring of the ground monitoring station failed. In this case, it would be difficult for Cheng Chongjin and their squadron to capture the Global Hawk's tail again.

However, there was no equipment for the Tongcheng Chongjin fighter jet to call directly on Duke's business plane. Qin Tairan then contacted Cheng Chongjin's base. After a while, he finally got the Tongcheng Chongjin's call after the transfer of the base.

"Hunter 1, Hunter 1 has not found the target yet! Repeat it, Hunter 1 has not found the target!" Cheng Chongjin paused for a moment and reported that he knew very well that Qin Tairan was the **oss of this experimental mission, and also knew what they wanted to know most at the moment. If they seized the tail of the target, this was a very good opportunity to perform their merits. Maybe this task would fall on his squadron in the future, but unfortunately, he was unable to bite the target this time.

Although Cheng Chongjin was really unwilling to accept it, he could only tell the truth now. Under the current circumstances, Cheng Chongjin dared not lie about military affairs.

"Short long after we arrived at the target area and had not yet searched for target information, the ground monitoring system lost its tracks. We judged that the target should be heading south, so we flew south to search for nearly 300 kilometers of airspace from east longitude to east longitude xx degree, and north latitude to xx degree, but we still couldn't find the target. We predicted that we might have missed the target in the middle, so now we turn north and search along the airspace line with a range of about 100 kilometers long east and west." Cheng Chongjin simply reported his action plan.

He knew that at this time, any mistake in his details could lead to the failure of the entire mission. Qin Tairan and others were more familiar with this monitoring system, and perhaps they could find some clues from his previous narrative.
