Chapter 3 The Holy Monk of the East

Chen Mang traveled west with a monkey and a horse. After a few days of wind and sleeping in the open, a beautiful mountain appeared in front of him. At the foot of the mountain, a grand hall faintly appeared.

When I rode my horse to the mountain gate, there was a temple. The temple was built in a magnificent manner. There were two rows of pine and cypress at the entrance. The temple was full of bells and drum towers. The Buddha Tower was tall and handsome, which was richer than most temples in the Tang Dynasty.

Chen Mang swept the temple door and saw the three big words "Guanyinyuan", and couldn't help but tickled.

The old abbot in Guanyin Courtyard has lived for more than 200 years. His Buddhism is not high, but he is the most greedy for money. He has collected countless rare antiques in the courtyard, and I don’t know how much money it cost to buy it.

Guanyin Bodhisattva arranged this disaster obviously to use his hand to eliminate the scum of his disciples, so as not to destroy his reputation.

After retracting his gaze from the plaque, Chen Mang draped the colorful robe given by the Buddha on his body and said to Wukong: "Wukong, go and tell the monk inside, and say that the Holy Monk of the East Earth has arrived and ask them to come out quickly to greet him."

Wukong scratched his hair and laughed: "Master, you are so grand. Those who don't know think it's the Buddha who is here!"

Chen Mang smiled and said, "They worshipped Guanyin. It may be really hard to use the Buddha when he comes. So you say that I am the holy monk from the East who was guided by Guanyin Bodhisattva and went to the West to obtain scriptures."

"Hey, my old son understands!"

Sun Wukong walked into the Zen Temple with a golden cudgel. Soon, an old monk with a hunched body and a snow-white eyebrows led a group of monks to greet him.

Outside the Zen temple, Chen Mang stood in front of the courtyard with Buddha light, with a solemn appearance, like a god and Buddha descending to earth. A white dragon entrenched behind him, and his body slowly swam, adding a bit of majestic momentum to him.

The old monk only glanced at it and hurriedly knelt down on the ground: "My little brother, please see the holy monk."

Chen Mang restrained the Buddha's light on his body and said lightly: "Elder Jinchi does not need to be too polite. My monk and his disciple pass by Guibao Temple and want to stay for one night. They will continue to set off to the West to seek the true scriptures tomorrow."

Elder Jinchi stood up with the help of his disciples, looked at Tang Monk's colorful cassock full of treasures, and his eyes flashed with a greedy light, and bowed and said, "Saint Monk, please follow me to the hall for tea first, so I'll have someone prepare vegetarian food!"

Chen Mang nodded slightly and patted the little white dragon's head. The white dragon instantly changed into a human form. He stood by and followed Chen Mang into the Zen Temple.

After the guest and host took a seat, Jin Chi's eyes remained on the cassock and asked, "Saint Monk, where did you get this cassock? There are hundreds of rare cassocks hidden in the courtyard, all of which are added up, which is not as gorgeous as the saint monk!"

Chen Mang smiled and said, "This robe was given by the Buddha. It was woven by a skillful hand of a fairy in the sky. It is decorated with rare treasures, which are not invaded by water and fire. It is also protected by the seven Buddhas' magic power. Even if it is placed in the West, it is also a rare treasure."

Jin Chi looked at the Jinlan cassock in shock, her eyes turned red, and she burst into tears: "I can have the fate to see this treasure in this life, but I can't wear it. I have lived for more than two hundred years..."

Chen Mang looked at his squeaky look and sighed helplessly: "Elder, I can't lend it to you even if you say this. This is the robes given to the Buddha to the people who have obtained the scriptures. I'm afraid that the Buddha will blame him."

When Jin Chi heard this, he couldn't help but hold back his tears, sighed for a while, and then accompanied Chen Mang and the other two to eat vegetarian food. Looking at the delicious food of the master and apprentice, he had no appetite at all.

After eating, Jin Chi sat in the room with a loss, looking at the dazzling array of treasures in the room, and was completely uninterested.

At this time, a middle-aged monk walked in and said to Jinchi: "Master, the holy monk has already taken a bath and changed his clothes and went to the wing room to rest."

Jin Chi murmured: "Holy monk, holy monk, he is so lucky that he is favored by the Buddha and can wear that treasure robes every day. I have been practicing the Buddha for more than 200 years, but I have nothing to gain, and I can't even touch the treasure..."

The monk sneaked up next to Jinchi and whispered: "Master, why can't you do the holy monk that Dongtu monk can be? Didn't he say that the cassock was given to the monk Dongtu?"

A trace of murderous intent suddenly flashed in Jinchi's eyes: "Well said, why can't I go to the West to seek scriptures? When I go to the West, maybe the Buddha will be happy and can give me a Arhat fruit position!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he quickly collapsed and sighed, "It's okay if you listen to this. Don't proclaim it and anger their master and disciple. The monk with white dragon and Thunder King's face looked like he was not a good person, and we can only beat them up."

The monk said, "Master, aren't you familiar with the king of Heifeng Mountain? He is also dedicated to the Buddha. If he asks him to protect you to go to the West to obtain the scriptures, he must agree."

Jinchi's eyes lit up again and he looked at the monk: "Guangmou, you will immediately rush to Heifeng Mountain to find the Black King. If you can make this happen, after I go west to obtain the scriptures, the Guanyin Academy will be in charge."

The monk nodded excitedly: "Yes, Master, I'll leave now!"

When the two were plotting their luggage to replace Taozhan, Sun Wukong on the roof had already heard all the conversations between them, came to Chen Mang's house, and closed the door: "Master, this old monk in Guanyin Courtyard is not a good person. Not only should he join forces with the fairies to murder us, but he also pretended that we went to the West to obtain scriptures!"

Chen Mang was stunned when he heard this. He thought that the old monk would take out gold, silver and treasures to buy his robes at most. Unexpectedly, the old monk was so genius and had no background at all. He dared to go to the West to seek scriptures?

Who gave him the courage? This is simply Wu Dalang married Pan Jinlian - I don’t know the depth!

After a while, Chen Mang quickly had an idea, curled up at the corner of Sun Wukong's mouth, and asked, "Wukong, can your hair turn into a corpse, right?"

Wukong's eyes rolled, and immediately understood Chen Mang's meaning, and nodded with a smirk: "Hey, Master, don't worry, I'll leave it to me Lao Sun!"

Ao Lie, who was pretending to be asleep, shivered slightly, and finally confirmed that he had boarded the pirate ship and embarked on a path of no return that he didn't know where to go...

After sleeping until midnight, a fire broke out in the wing room. The fire was extremely fierce, illuminating the entire courtyard where the wing room was located, and a group of little monsters could be seen vaguely surrounding the outside.

Ao Lie stood up and was about to use the water technique to put out the fire, but suddenly he was covered by a strong hand. Then Chen Mang's voice sounded in his ears: "Don't move, we are dead now."

Ao Lie's cheek twitched slightly, and he was silent for a moment for the fairies outside. Then he was dragged into the ground by Sun Wukong using the earth escape technique.
