Chapter 74

Harry felt Dumbledore's hand grab his arm again, and after a while they stood to almost the same spot, but no snow fell on the windowsill outside.

"Okay, Harry, after you read this short memory, do you have any ideas?"

"Voldemort said it was not his intention to summon the Death Eaters?" Harry looked up at Dumbledore's face. "It all sounds like Richard Silver is inseparable. Why have I never heard you mention it before."

"Because the truth represented by such as this assumption is too terrifying and not realistic, Harry." Dumbledore said softly, "You are still young, and it may be difficult to understand-"

"No." Harry said excitedly, "I'm not young anymore, I'll be a grown-up in a few months! Sir."

Dumbledore looked at Harry quietly, and it took a long time to go.

"Do you believe Voldemort's words?"

"No, but I don't think Voldemort needs to lie on this issue."

"Harry, have you started to sympathize with Voldemort?" Dumbledore sighed, and he walked to the window. "Of course we can be sure that the establishment of the Death Eater did not all come from Voldemort's own will, but his own factors account for the vast majority of them, otherwise he would not have become the Dark Lord."

"So what are the other factors?" Harry asked, "like the support of big names like Richard Silver?"

"Richard is another matter. Harry Richard is a Gryffindor, and I know him very well. The things he pursues are different from Voldemort. He just simply wants to get rid of the curse and live forever. As for whether the pure-blooded wizard can restore his former status, whether the wizards can build a country again on the earth, how the relationship between wizards and Muggles will change, etc., all kinds of mundane things are not within Richard's consideration. So Voldemort broke up with Richard when he was underage.

"What curse?"

"This is a very rare genetic disease, and it is very troublesome to explain. Simply put, when a Silver's hair turns from silvery white to golden yellow, his life is almost over. Maybe you have noticed the change in Richard's hair color in these memories you have seen before and after." Dumbledore said, "I think this should be the consequence of marriage in close relatives. In order to maintain the pure bloodline, most pure blood families tend to marry in close relatives."

"Then Jack Silver..."

"He doesn't have this problem. He has stopped intermarrying pure blood since his grandfather's generation. I think this is the best solution to the problem." Dumbledore blinked, "Okay, let's get the topic back on track and then talk about Voldemort."

"Don't think that you can sympathize with Voldemort. Psychology is the most luxurious feeling, especially for Voldemort. He has too many opportunities and conditions to go the right path, but hatred and evil nature have made him go further and further - of course, I admit that the fueling of some people in the wizarding world has also made him the climate."

"No, I don't sympathize with him." Harry blushed and argued against his will. For a moment, he sympathized with Voldemort, who had experienced such a similar experience as his."

"It doesn't matter, Harry. Over the past few decades, there have been wiser, much older wizards who are more wiser than you, who have trusted Voldemort. I've let you see these memories to be sure of some ideas."

"What's your thoughts, sir?"

"Richard Silver's memory, Harry," Dumbledore said, "I believe Voldemort made himself like this. He must have received some amazing magical education in his early years. If he wants to defeat Voldemort, he must start from this aspect. We must at least know what he learned from Richard."

"But this should be asked Jack Silver, this-"

"Richard is also a weird guy in the Silver family. He is the only Gryffindor in the Silver family for a hundred years. He has a bad relationship with his own sons. Jack Silver doesn't know much about his great-grandfather. However, he had a good relationship with Professor Slughorn during his lifetime. As far as I know, he gave Horas a memory twenty years ago - about his early memories of Voldemort."

Dumbledore continued, "I asked Horas to live this memory, but he refused to give it to me. I hope you can get that memory from Professor Slughorn, which can add the most critical piece of the puzzle."

"Professor Slughorn likes qualified young people very much, and I happened to hear that you performed well in potions."

"Yes, yes." Harry stammered, remembering the strange book of Darkness. If Dumbledore had known it, he would have ruined the book that looked very evil.
