Chapter 20 The End of the Legend
"Ginny!"——A scream was Mrs. Weasley, who had just been sitting in front of the fire and cried. She jumped up suddenly, followed by Mr. Weasley, and both of them stretched out their arms at the same time, and hugged their baby daughter.
Silver glanced at the room, and Professor McGonagall grabbed his chest with relief and breathed in big mouthfuls. Harry and Ron were also there, and they hugged each other excitedly. Silver maliciously speculated that their sexual orientation had changed. Professor Lohart, who had amnesia, looked at all this blankly - "Are they so happy because they saw me?" It seems that Professor Lohart, who had amnesia, was still very narcissistic.
"Quiet, everyone, calm down." Dumbledore spoke. "As you see, we have successfully rescued Ginny. The attacks over the past year have been revealed, and there will be no legends about secret rooms from now on."
"I still don't understand what's going on, how did you save Ginny," said Professor McGonagall.
"Simply put, the attacks over the past year have been good things done by Slytherin's heirs. Professor Dumbledore and I entered the secret room and wiped out Slytherin's heirs and the basil monster, and then rescued Ginny." Silver said.
Mrs. Weasley let go of Ginny: "So who is Slytherin's heir?"
Silver pointed to the diary in Dumbledore's hand: "That diary is the culprit of these things, Slytherin's heir."
Harry opened his mouth in surprise: "That is Tom Riddle's diary. What can this diary have to do with these things?
Silver looked at Harry in surprise: "Have you seen this diary? Tom Riddle was the name Voldemort used in his student days. Few people know that Voldemort was once a smart and handsome boy student union president of Hogwarts. Fifty years ago, Riddle relied on his extraordinary wisdom to find the entrance to the secret room. He opened the secret room, released the basilisk and killed an innocent student. He framed Hagrid and caused Hagrid to be fired, but he could no longer find a chance to open the secret room, so he left this diary, hoping that one day he could open the secret room and clean Hogwarts."
"Yes, Tom Riddle is indeed Voldemort." Dumbledore rubbed his diary. "Seldom know that Voldemort used to be Tom Riddle. Fifty years ago, I taught him personally at Hogwarts. He disappeared after leaving school. He traveled around, traveling around the world. He fell deeper and deeper in the quagmire of black magic, and mixed with the most evil guy in the wizarding world. After many dangerous magical transformations, he finally reappeared as Voldemort, and it was difficult for people to recognize him. Almost no one linked Voldemort with the smart, handsome president of the boys' student union who had studied here."
"But what about Ginny?" said Mrs. Weasley. "What does our Ginny have to do with him?"
"His day-diary!" Ginny sobbed, "I've been writing on it for a whole year, and he's constantly writing back to me-"
"Ginny!" Mr. Weasley said in amazement, "Have I taught you? How did I tell you all the time? Never believe anything that can think independently unless you see clearly where it hides your mind. Why didn't you show me or your mother the diary? Such a suspicious thing is obviously full of black magic magic!"
"I-I don't know," Ginny was still crying sadly, "I found it in a book my mom gave me. I-I thought someone had caught it there and forgot."
"Miss Weasley should go to the school hospital right away," Dumbledore interrupted without saying a word, "It was a painful torture for her. The school would not punish her. Many wizards older than her and more resourceful than her were blinded by Voldemort." He strode to the door and opened it. "Stay in bed, maybe, and drink another big cup of steaming chocolate milk, which I always think is good for improving my mood." He said, blinking at Ginny kindly, "You will find that Mrs. Pomfrey is not sleeping yet. She was just distributing Mandela herbs--I dare say, the victims of the Snake Monster may wake up at any time."
Silver stopped the Weasleys who were going to send Ginny out. "Mr. Weasley, maybe I can answer why that diary appears in your daughter's hands."
"By the way, my dear, I haven't thanked you for saving my daughter." Mrs. Weasley hugged Silver.
"Don't be so polite, Mrs. Weasley." Silver finally broke free from Mrs. Weasley's hug. "Mr. Weasley, do you remember that you had a fight with Mr. Malfoy in front of Lihen Bookstore?"
Mr. Weasley said in confusion: "Yes, were you there at the scene? I taught Lucius a lesson--as he took Ginny's old textbook to humiliate me and couldn't afford it--" Mr. Weasley suddenly widened his eyes. "You mean, Lucius--"
Silver nodded with a smile: "It's a little bit of personal grudge that will put the whole school in horror. I think Mr. Malfoy did something wrong this time."
"Thank you, Jack." Mr. Weasley patted Silver on the shoulder hard. "I will surprise Lucius a little, see you later."
Mrs. Weasley took Ginny out, and Mr. Weasley followed behind, as if he was about to rush to Malfoy's house and search the house.
"Do you know, Minerva," said Professor Dumbledore thoughtfully to Professor McGonagall, "I think these things are worth a banquet to celebrate. Can I ask you to inform the kitchen?"
"Okay," said Mrs. McGrath simply, and set out toward the door, "Potter and Weasley go to inform the students of Gryffindor, we have to celebrate."
"Wait a minute." Dumbledore called Professor McGonagall, "Minerva, if you don't mind, you can take Professor Lohart to Mrs. Pomfrey, who was hit by his own forgetting curse."
Professor McGonagall nodded: "Lohart, come with me."
"Are you calling me?" asked Lohart. Harry and Ron pulled him away from both sides.
"Jack, your outstanding performance won 300 points for Ravenclaw Academy, and the legend of the secret room is over." Dumbledore said to Silver with a smile. "I will declare your credit immediately, and you will receive the Hogwarts Special Contribution Award for this."
"Thank you very much, principal." Silver said: "The snake sheds, venoms and fangs of the Thousand-year-old Snake Monster are all very precious magical materials. If possible, I would like to invite you and Professor Snape to go with me to collect..."
The rest of the summer semester was spent in a dazzling sunshine. Hogwarts returned to normal, with only a few small changes: the course of the Dark Magic Defense was cancelled. Dumbledore told the story at the banquet, and Silver became the hero of eliminating the Basil monster. Because of the 300 points that Silver won, the Ravenclaw School won the Academy Cup. Professor McGonagall said that the school decided to cancel the exam in order to entertain everyone. This made Silver do nothing and he began to have plenty of time with the girls. Of course, Hermione complained a lot about canceling the exam.
As the Hogwarts Express stopped on the nine and three-quarters platform, the smoky platform was filled with twilight students and parents who were waiting anxiously searching for each other.
